Description:
.: a2b League proudly presents :.

***   The a2b Championship Cup   ***

.: The time has finally come for the ultimate BnG Cup :.

**   Free entry   **

**   32 players max   **

**   Cash prizes to be won   **

1st place: £50
2nd place: £25
3rd place: £15
4th place: £10

a2b Championship Rules:

  1. No straight bazooka shots.

   2. No sitters.

   3. No repeat shots:

          * If you hit someone for 34 HP or less with a shot, you can't use that same shot again until you have either hit them with a different one, or you or they have moved.
          * If you hit someone for 35 HP or more with a shot, you can't use that same shot again until either you or they have moved.

   4. No 5 second grenades unless used with low gravity or max bounce

   5. All shots should be aimed to explode on impact with the opponents worm - No 3s grenades with 4s fuse, no rollers.

   6. Re-aim the crosshair between every turn, regardless of whether you landed a hit last turn or not.

   7. Don't teleport too close to your opponent's worm (try to stay at least half the map away).

   8. No notching unless you can't help it (ie, your perfect aim is 1 or 2 taps off vertical).

   9. No telecides (teleporting on your opponent when you have low health in order to inflict grave damage on them).

  10. No defensive girders, only use girders for bouncing nades.

  11. No Darksiding - You are not allowed to use a hide where you cannot aim directly at your opponent - If you are pushed into a hide and all you can do is zook/bank grenades, you may attempt up to 3 return shots and if any are successful you must move immediately to a hide where you have a direct angle to shoot towards your opponent, this prevents players hiding in such a way that their opponent has no means of a direct shot giving the "darksider" an unfair advantage.

Hmm... I really hope this will approved, since as soon as you play for money, it's considered gambling, and then you have to be 18 years old, there are very strict rules about these sort of things. :-X

Let's hope nothing comes in the way, sounds great. :)

Well, actually, you are right (my bad, sorry lol), but isn't it law to be over 18 if you are placing a bet? As you can play National Lottery age 16, that is gambling but legal before 18 and is using money to play, but then again this is UK.

I would think this is ok because no one must place any bet or pay money for the gamble.

At least I think so? I guess this decision is down to MI?

He is the owner of the site, so in case trouble comes up, he's the one kicked in the ass. So yea, this decision is up to him, though I think there is only a very slim chance for any trouble with this.

Yeah, didn't Madden do a Tournament with money involved on TuS? Or was that a different website?

And coming to think of it, was the entrants to his Tournament 18+ or not?

If anyone can remember...

There has never been any prize tournaments hosted on TUS, there were plans, discussions, but it never reached the execution.

SPW made ea for only 18+ players since he is planning to do prize tournaments there.

Ah, so Maddens Tournament didn't even take off?

Well, if we can't go ahead with this the way it's setup, I could always change it to +18 players only?

But I have a strong feeling you can play for money under 18 as long as you don't have to pay to play, I hope I am right with this...

I think the law on gambling and this kind of stuff is very different depending on where you live. As far as I know in Germany it's not allowed for people under 18 years of age to win cash prizes in competitions.
I remember knowing who it was but dont remember exactly what I knew

If what you are saying only applies to Germans under the age of 18, then unfortunately, they won't be able to enter, but everyone else can.

MI, could you clarify us on some of this please? Let me know as soon as possible please if I need an age restriction or Country Law restriction or something to continue with this, as I intend to do this once every 3/4 months.

I think as long as there's no "entering fee", it is alright. I've never faced that German rule. But if they are sure, we can restrict them. But you can wait for the signups to see how many under 18 Germans you would actually get.
Due to massive misunderstandings: MonkeyIsland refers to an island not a monkey. I would be a monkey, if my name was IslandMonkey meaning a monkey who is or lives on an island. MonkeyIsland is an island which is related to monkeys. Also there's been a legend around saying MonkeyIsland is a game. So please, think of me as an island or a game.

Ah, that is music to my ears, you just made my day xD

Now we just need to wait to be approved :)
