It's been attempted in the past. I was the proponent of most of these changes. Some stayed, but most were reverted because too many people weren't happy about them. So yeah, a lot of rules are kept for historical reasons.

That isn't entirely true.

One scheme is a race the other is a fight.

As far as the universe is aware, one time is faster than the other, that faster time should be declared the winner, we have the means to judge it, but people are being lazy dumb f**ks.

In Elite, it makes virtually no difference whether knocking is allowed or not, as the winner is based on far far more than just that one rule.

They aren't rules, they were necessities.

Ropeknocking was only enabled in #RopersHeaven and Elite was played in #WormsEliteLeague

TTRR same, we didn't have replays.

Now that we can change that we should, along with a bunch of many other things, but people aren't logic, so when you put up a vote, TUS style, they stick to what they know.
