WA ran for only one time
« on: May 10, 2016, 04:27 AM »
Hello everybody,
I have a problem with CD worms armageddon.
I installed it in my pc, it ran properly for the first time, no errors.
And then the second time i run it, there basicly just... nothing happened, it didn't even run and ther was no error message.
I could see the wa.exe in processes (task manager) but not consumed cpu and ram, and there was a process drwtsn32.exe ran along with it (everytime i end wa.exe process, that end too).
This problem re-occured everttime i re-install the game: ran for the first time, second time there was nothing happened.
Please help, i don't want to install the game everytime i wanna play it.
thx first

Have you installed the latest update?
Dec 30 2013 23:59:44 <StepS> windowed mode isn't the only thing you need about frontend
Dec 30 2013 23:59:49 <StepS> you need it to be actually bigger
Dec 31 2013 00:00:13 <StepS> it actually is very small on my 15-inch full HD screen
Dec 31 2013 00:00:25 <StepS> while running at 640x480 or stretched mode makes it fuzzy
Dec 31 2013 00:00:44 <StepS> this problem has been around since the Worms Armageddon's release and no one has even tried to beat it

Have you installed the latest update?
yes, i update version 3.7.2.1

don't install inside program files

run as admin
I didn't put it in program files.
And the computer user i use is adminstrtor.
if you mean the "run as..." thing in right-click menu, i really don't understand how it work, the first choise is run as current user and the second is run as another user, and the 2nd one sucks, it requires password even that I didn't set any password.

If you use ResetRegistryOptions.reg, does it start again?

Upgrade your Windows. That might be necessary. Try Windows 7/8 (I don't trust 10's forced updates).

Run the program in Win 2000 compatibility mode will fix this.
this can be locked.

Upgrade your Windows.

This is good advice in general, but WA should still be able to function even on Windows 95, no?

Windows 95
3.6.26.5 and below.

So, you can't...
-Play on Wormnet
-Look at Replays from most Leagues (Restricted to WO 2006 these days)
-See Cybershadow's updates
-Look at porn
-Use Wormkit Modules
-Kill Cows
-Play League Games
-Give a Shit
-Get on the Worst Shot Ever page (ever)
-Play different games (You can play the same match at times)
-Know how to stop
-Play Worms at a stadium
-Swing
-Not swing
-Minimize the game
-Let the game play itself
-Upgrade to Windows Vista and Up with the same version of the game
-Pick the complexity of your maps
-Rope
-Not hit things
-Use Rubberworm, Project X, Translation tools, etc.
-Track your hands
-Use Cyrillic
-Know where your hands are
-Live in the 21st century
-Have fun
-Watch YouTube while playing
-Play Worms Dodgeball
-Not being annoyed
-Change the game (Except the graphics)
-Like Golf
-[laughing] Drive(ing range)
-Use WA 4.0 in the future
-Have a listen to this
-Even know
-Try something different
-Not get a Seizure
-Horse Shoes
-Lose
-Horse Shit
-Not Crash
-Use my Gothic language
-Play 99.9% of surviving Replays
-Like this at all
-Play Darts
-Be anything but dumb, confusing, and weird.
-Drive(ing) (roping) fast
-Play Propertly
-Not get stupid bugs
-Say anything but "WHY WOULD ANYONE STAY WITH THIS?!"
-Not get bored
-Clean things
-Use modern weapons
-Use Full Wormage without reinventing the wheel
-Make(ing) burgers
-Randomly Select
-Not be a Dinosaur
-Not want to play Diner Dash
-Want to play Diner Dash
-Play with Bubba
Overall: NOBODY WANTS TO PLAY ANCIENT VERSIONS OF GAMES THAT ARE WAY WORSE THAN THE MODERN VERSION! WHAT'S THE POINT OF WINDOWS 95?!

I wasn't aware that W95 support had been dropped. So it won't run on it at all with the latest update?

Win10 is better, there is no problems with the free update

The drop of support was not intentional, and as far as I know, few things are win98-specific.

There is a problem with the free update, it ended yesterday.
