Tus Game Awards

The thing I like about tus is that all the replays are stored for ever and you can comment on and rate games.

I think it would be cool to be able to nominate some of your own games as nominations to win various  "awards" in different catagories.

These catagories could include "Play of the season", "Worst play of the season", "Shot of the season", "Worst luck of the season", "RR of the season" etc...

Players could select a maximum of say 1 or 2 of their tus games for each of the given catagories per season.

The nomination can be made in the "report a game" section of the league, with an option to nominate the game your reporting for whichever catagory you choose. These replays will then be tagged, and people will be able to view the "Current Tus Awards Nominations", on the recent games page.

Give people space to write why they are nominating the game for whichever award, and also if its for a catagory like "Worst turn of the season", they must write the time at which the event takes place.

At the end of the season people can vote for which games or section of game play the different awards should go to!

These games can then be kept in a gallery for people to view on tus. As the league grows older, this will build up into a nice little collection!

Nice idea Nail, we have as Darkone listed Run`s site, but I`m not sure how known this site is in the community. TUS would probably collect far more replays.

Anyway, Chicken23!!! You won the Unluckiest Mine Backstab award!!! Aren`t you glad I send in the replay?  It was from a game we played, I knew he had a chance to win the award with that very, very unlucky, but still very clever move ^^

I'd have the following catagories:

1. Game of the season. (Excludes ttrr. Played a perfect elite? Comeback and won a roper from a big disadvantage?)

2. Wost game of the season. (Played horribly? Messed up every turn?)

3. Shot of the season.

4. Worst shot of the season.

5. Turn of the season. (Excludes ttrr and bng)

7. Worst turn of the season.

8. Luck of the season. (Had some great luck? Had some terrible luck?) - only for 1 turn, not over a whole game)

9. RR of the season. (Getting a great time on a map)


Cant think of any more obvious ones, having any more than this will be messy.

People may only nominate a maximum of two replays for each catagory. If they wish to change a nomination later on in the season for a different game then they may do so. They may change their selections as many times as they want until the season ends and voting then begins.

A player may not nominate the same game for different catagories. Each game may only be nominated for ONE catagory (unless two players wish to nominate the same game that they played together for different catagories).

You may wish to nominate a game that you played but LOST (worst luck for example), and so do not have the option to do so on the "report a game" page (as you won't be reporting the game). A player should be able to nominate any game he has played for Tus in the current season whether he won the game or lost it, please make this possible.

The voting should end at the beginning of the next season so people have plenty of time to view all of the nominations.

Btw I think we really should reduce the season length to 1 month. Tus is active enough now for it to work, and it will if anything increase activity because the fight for top spot will be faster and harder. I am going away in a couple of months and so want to get one more season in before I go!

I don't quite agree with this. Look at this example: someone nominates his replay on the first day of the season. It is great, funny, people vote on it. Then someone else nominates his game on the last day of the season, noone will watch it.

Worst backfire seems like a good one as well. I see this differently from worst shot ever, since that would be a screw up like hitting your own worm where your opponent isn't even close.
worst backfire would be a shot that's (almost?) a complete success, but something unexpected happens that'll cost you HP

Thats true, but I don't think people will vote without viewing all the entrys.

We could make it so that you can only vote once you have viewed ALL of the nominations for that catagory.
