Title: WSE 2014 Reminder
Post by: lacoste on June 01, 2014, 01:22 PM
Submissions (and quality) to the Worst Shot Ever are falling down each year. I dont know if its due to coincidence, lost interest in submitting replays or simply WA players are way too good to fail after all these years. Its been 5 months since 2013 results and compared to past years its crawling very poorly.

Some stats:

2012 - 17 categories, 85 accepted submissions, 159 submissions total
2013 - 13 categories, 53 accepted submissions, 135 submissions total
2014 - 11 acceptable submissions (can be less), 29 submissions total (during 5 months period)

Since Run has founded the WSE project it allways was about quality and not the quanity, but this year, if nothing is going to change, it will be even tough to pick the quality stuff among the short list of submitted blunders.

Please let your friends know about The Worst Shot Ever (http://wse.worms2d.info/) and tell them to play bad!

nowadays troops of noobs who produce all the worst fails in W:A have no idea WSE actually exist.. most of them using hb to play so you can ask cybershadow if he can add a small ad in hostingbuddy, for example once the game starts it will says smth like "Made a fail? Think its the worst fail of the year? Send it to the worst shot contest *link* blabla" im sure it will bring popularity back

While this is true that HB and WN ads could make WSE visible to a wide range of newcomers and it would be nice, then i dont think it could change much in the quality department. In other words - more submissions doesnt necessarly mean higher number of exceptional plays.

I think alot of people have suggested ads, even ads for tus on wormnet, but never happens Cybershadow must have his reasons..

But how about statistics? The more replays are submitted, the greater chance to find decent WSE  :)

Sorry if I'm waking a dead subject.
I posted a fail the other day on a website, it had some fails from 2014 and tbh I LOVE the idea! (not sure if it's the official website for that and I also lost the link I think...)

So, you just send me exact link where I can send those and I'll make sure to keep you updated as I or someone I play with fail. :D

EDIT:
Nooope it's the website above I posted to, then I'll just continue spamming you now and then, pls let me know when you release a video in the end of the year and don't let this awesome project die!
