Gaming Central / The year is 2068, things have changed.
« on: December 08, 2019, 02:55 AM »

I don't know where I'm gonna put it, but Mutant Rampage BodySlam appears to have predicted the future DISTURBINGLY accurately. If you don't know what that game is, it's a CD-i beat-em-up game from the 1990's that probably one of the better games on the system. The intro is below

If it were 1994, I'd laugh it off as just another stupid game from a system that didn't really get a massive audience. However, basically EVERYTHING in the first sequence of the game's intro has become reality or is VERY likely to become reality in the near future.

Millennium Wars: War against Terror
Grey Tremor Plague of 2017: California's Disease outbreaks
Thanatos Meltdown: Fukishima Meltdown
Gene Pool alteration: I've heard of some people trying to spread what I Call "Radical Gene Pool alterations"
Technology Advanced: That's EXACTLY what's happening
Bio-Engineers have created Animal-Human hybrids: China is doing THIS with Pigs and Monkeys
Athletes are commonly enhanced with bionics: Cybathlon in Kloten
Cybernet (fiber-optic network) links everything: Internet of Things and 5G

Mutant Rampage Bodyslam may have just been a regular game in 1993, but with the things it got ominously CORRECT, it won't be long until the world potrayed in it becomes OUR REALITY. In fact, I'd say it will DEFINITELY happen by 2068. I think watching the intro might be a good exercise to see how disturbingly CLOSE it is to where we are right now.

Tech Support / Wormnet Misbehavior
« on: June 26, 2019, 09:53 PM »

So I go onto Worms Armageddon, then I go onto Wormnet. I try to join a channel, only to get strange behavior.
-Small Wormnet/Main Menu
-Channel chat in MOTD Box
-Infinite Loading
-Having to go into Weapons just to do catch up with the server
-Worms Armageddon crashing if I DO manage to get into a game
I know HostingBuddy got fixed, but this behavior is (to quote Chyrosran22) HHHHHHHHHHIDEOUS! I hope this is fixed. I can't STAND the corrupted server, and many people don't either. If this isn't fixed soon, Worms Armageddon's servers WILL DIE! That's NOT what we want.

Bug Report / [SOLVED] Backspace causes text shrinkage
« on: June 20, 2019, 09:53 PM »

I think I found the reason why the shrinkage problem exists
Every time I delete text, the text changes to a smaller size. Eventually, it becomes the size of a single celled organism. This might be a bug, and I'm posting it here because I realized that the editor was broken this whole time. It only happens when I reduce the number of lines of text in the post, which is broken, and is starting to get on my nerves. Let me show you an example.
[size=78%]ALL HAIL THE YTROJAN EMPIRE[/size]
It's clearly broken, and it is in grave need of repair.

Cups and Tournaments General / "Cup Hogs"
« on: June 16, 2019, 04:31 AM »
There are cups and tourneys which started signups in TWENTY SEVENTEEN that are STILL unfinished, and will probably never be. Here's what I suggest: If a cup/tourney hasn't been active in 6 months, it should be closed. That way, more cups can be approved.

Promotion Project / Worms Armageddon Proposal
« on: June 10, 2018, 10:43 PM »
Here's my proposal to save this game, which is slowly decaying.
  • Bug Fix Release (Maybe 3.7.5?), before releasing 3.8
  • Promoting the game, possibly via a new release
  • Worms Armageddon on VidLii, as YouTube treats any content that isn't pandering to the lowest common denominator as trash
  • Once 3.8 is done, release it ASAP

General discussion / W:A Neural Network
« on: March 30, 2018, 11:28 PM »
Someone should make a Worms Armageddon Neural Network, either to solve missions or to play schemes during local multiplayer. Here are some advantages over the regular CPU
-Being able to play more than just battle schemes
-Less idiocy
-Being able to play like a regular Human player
-BRSolver for the public
Think of it as a sort of BRSolver, except for all schemes.

General discussion / Where's WSE 2017 Results?
« on: March 24, 2018, 11:27 PM »
Seriously, it's almost April and there's STILL no WSE 2017 results. If it has anything to do with 3.8's infinite delay, or if it's mainly because Worms Armageddon is being left to rot, this will be a bad sign for Worms Armageddon as a whole.

I think that 2016 might have been the last huge year for Worms Armageddon, and that 2017 might have been the start of Team17's slow process of letting it rot away.

Wormkit Modules / WK Concept: wkDegenerationX
« on: January 27, 2018, 08:09 PM »

This concept is for wkDegenerationX, which is supposed to be the spiritual successor to Project X (thus the name).

Basically, it should have the same PX libraries, map customizing, and scheme making.

It also needs script support, and (likely) backwards compatibility with PX (and possibly the Fiddler) schemes.

Plus, it should include a mission editor (which the missions created come after the default missions in the story mode).

Not to mention, it should have a Silkworm-like script (in the chat [like /arrows]), essentially making it also the spiritual sucessor to Silkworm.

However, it isn't without its challenges.

For one, someone will have to make it work on 3.8.

This could rule out some PX Backwards Compatibility, and may very well mean that wkDegenerationX will merely be the Silkworm-like part.

Also, I don't know how to make a WormKit module.

Since PX is closed source, that would basically be bad news for me.

Still, I have hopes for this project.

Remember: Try to start off with the Silkworm-like stuff, then implement the PX-like stuff in updates.

Bug Report / [SOLVED] Shrinking Text
« on: January 06, 2018, 12:17 AM »
Seriously. I work VERY hard on my posts, but instead of looking like they should, they have text that shrinks.  >:(  It's VERY annoying.

You NEED to fix it, and edit my post so that all the text is equally sized. Also, make the small text a new paragraph. That's how I intended it to be

Promotion Project / Idea
« on: January 06, 2018, 12:04 AM »
Worms Armageddon has been stagnant, so I have a few ideas to get back at least a little of its former glory.

-Worms Armageddon TV (Can be on YouTube, VidLii, BitChute, PewTube, or any other site that supports gaming videos)
-64 Bit Worms Armageddon (This will future-proof WA, and create whole new ideas for more Updates. Sure, things might be broken. However, at least there will be more updates.)

-New Demos (The old ones are not only ancient, but they are completely useless on newer machines. Like the 64-bit and Mobile ideas, this might take a little work.)
-A mobile version of Worms Armageddon, probably based on the console versions (since they're easier to port, and Team17 will probably not mind Reverse Engineering by Deadcode/CyberShadow.).

-Get Bigger YouTubers (or whatever channels they're called [VidLii-ers?]) to play Worms Armageddon (That's an easy way to get more players, and some of them might stay for future events.)

Leagues Games Comments / Game #222793, reported by style

Took you long enough for the first match of 2018, which just shows how stagnant the WA community seems to be getting lately.

Bug Report / [SOLVED] Remove AIM Links
« on: December 26, 2017, 09:35 PM »
AIM shut down on December 15, so there's no point in keeping an outdated link anymore. Unless someone's using the IWARG AIM Phoenix servers, which is unlikely considering how few people have actually even heard of that shit. So yeah, please remove AIM Links.

MSN Messenger and YIM links can go away too, considering how those services shut down long before AIM did.

Maybe replace them with Discord/VidLii/YouTube/Alternative eMails/Reddit Links?

If any of you somehow got a Vocaloid soundbank (or want to make one), this is my request. You should upload it to the Files.
