Scheme description:

The concept of Drive for Weapons or DFW is a combination of Driver and Walk for Weapons. It is a race in which each player has 2 worms and it has to use only 1 of these (Driver) to go driving the other (Stoned) throughout the circuit (just like Driver scheme) but this time the indestructible maps are filled with weapon sprites on the floor due to the mandatory rule of only using a weapon if the worm being controlled is adjacent to a sprite of that weapon (just like Walk for Weapons). The scheme was based on Boom for Weapons.

Challenge rules:

Play with two worms (same team), using the map provided here and the DFW scheme available on this page. Why not Time-Trial? Mainly because the utilities would last forever and the map was designed for 30 seconds turn time.

  • Place one worm at the ''Driver'' worm start and the other worm at the ''Stoned'' worm start (inside the Skunk Chamber).
  • The second worm is like a "ball". It cannot be controled. Only the driver worm is able to move the stoned worm (attacking it).
  • You can only use a weapon or utility if the driver worm is touching an area bounded to the weapon sprite. Sometimes the area is highlighted and determined, other times there are signs very close to an area, obvious enough to understand that the weapon should be used from that place. Teleport to teleport.
  • To finish the challenge, first it is necessary to leave the Stoned worm on the hospital roof, then the Driver worm needs to go home, plop Stoned twice in a row using Petrols, and then Driver must plop itself twice on the GG spot (Homing Missile). Only with the two worms eliminated from the game (after they reached their finishes and their team health bar disappear from the game) it will be a valid replay for the challenge.

All the 24 stages available on a big sign of the map must be completed (check TUS scheme page for a replay).

The fastest valid gameplay time will be the winner of the challenge. The time will be counted right after the two worms be placed on their corresponding start (when the very first turn starts running) and will be ended when the Driver worm be ploped 2 times in-a-row, when it touches the water on the second plop (officially eliminated from the game).

Okay, so now I am on 3.8.1  ;D Actually my record is 22:06 (00:06.16 to 22:12.16), and I will made better next days, I did a lot of mistakes which wasting time. When I want go faster, then I go even slower than usually.

Jetpack bug okay, I forgot... I could change weapon to take control back.

Edit: new record, 17:32  :D  (but still a lot of things which I can do better)

I watched both replays you sent me. Both are valid replays. You used two wrong weapons on the first replay, but you went back and used the correct weapon, so for me it's ok, since it doesn't interfered on the gameplay. On the second replay you used the jet pack a bit further than the sprite one time, but you failed that turn and corrected the position on the following turn that was the GG turn. So it doesn't interfered on the gameplay too. All ok!

Congratulations! I apreciated your idea to try to save time by throwing a grenade from the church, to push Stoned down there, to the left of the chains.

On the first replay, yes you said the exact time you took (00:22:06), converting to decimals it is 22.1 minutes. On the second replay I checked by each frame it was 00:17:32.66, so I rounded it to 00:17:33 and converted to decimals: 17.55 minutes.

EDIT: BTW, welcome to 3.8.1!

Alright, new record! Congratulations! Magic Bullet at Stoned was the bad luck of the attempt, but still a good run!

00:13:23.04 (rounded: 00:13:23 -> to decimals -> 13.38 minutes)

PS: You made a mistake using pigeon at missile sprite, but you fixed the mistake, so the gameplay was not affected. Valid replay!

HUH! That times... why not minutes+seconds? Weird count minutes in decimal. But no problem, only need seconds divide by 60 and multiply by 100.

BTW where are other players? Too scared of sbs's  ò,....,ó  schemes?  :-*

EDIT 2: There are some possible problems on your 3.7 RW scheme:

1) Wind bias is not zero
...
Hey wait! What it mean, that zero bias? Disabled wind or so? On downloaded scheme for 3.8 it have random wind too, so plop Stoned by petrol was each turn different.

Thank you. Will you try too, Zalo? But warning: no moles in this scheme.  :)

I attached this scheme partially ported for 3.7 if somebody want play on older version of WA. It can NOT be used for qualify here, only play for fun.

Wind Bias = 0 means that the position your worm is on the map doesn't affect the wind probability. So, being at home, the wind could have more chance to go to the right there. With wind bias zero the wind is way more random, it can change the direction and strength more times, without a tendency due to the worm position.

Almost one week left to end this challenge.

If the records remain as they are right now, no one will receive the Bronze Medal. I'd like to give the silver medal to another player, but it seems it will stay with me.

Maybe this challenge is too long, or maybe it is too complicated to understand, or maybe people just don't like to play new schemes, or maybe people in TUS have some issues with me or sbs. Maybe people just don't have time and activity is low. Now with the FIFA World Cup, the chances are smaller that people engage on this challenge. It took some years to develop this scheme + map, but I wouldn't want to annoy people to play this. What matters is that sbs and I know it has a lot of quality, because we tested it a lot. So we are very satisfied with the result.

I promise I will remove the DFW scheme icon from my signature after the end of this challenge, after so much time.

Or you can extend the deadline. Usually people do not engage in hard/complicated/long challenges. It's normal.
Due to massive misunderstandings: MonkeyIsland refers to an island not a monkey. I would be a monkey, if my name was IslandMonkey meaning a monkey who is or lives on an island. MonkeyIsland is an island which is related to monkeys. Also there's been a legend around saying MonkeyIsland is a game. So please, think of me as an island or a game.

Maybe this challenge is ..., or maybe ..., or maybe ..., or maybe ...
...or maybe they are too noobs for play scheme for real men.  ;) ;D  You need all skill here, but peoples are usually concentrated only on one. Only rope, or only weapons, or only  something... Here it need much more universal players, which know all together.

It is great challenge, I has a lot of fun there. Mainly using 10 mad cows there was fun (I was used 2 only later).

Or you can extend the deadline. Usually people do not engage in hard/complicated/long challenges. It's normal.

Okay, I thought and talked with sbs about this. For sbs, he thinks 1 month was more than enough to understand and play this challenge. If people really wanted to play, they could say they didn't have time to play or something, so he thinks that Danger135 really deserves to receive the gold medal and the challenge would end on December 1st. However, he said that since I'm the one organizing this challenge, since he doesn't have a TUS account (at least for now), I could decide what to do.

I agree with him that extending the deadline probably won't change the situation, but I really think my friend took some time to create these medals, and the bronze one is very beautiful, and deserves to be on a player profile. Also, maybe with the vacations and holydays people have more free time to engage on this challenge. Some people demonstrated interest on participating too.

So, I decided to extend the deadline until March 1st, my 32nd anniversary. It will be a good gift to see the bronze medal being earned by someone. If nobody tries after these 3 extra months, well it will be a good gift to see Danger135 receiving the gold medal, because he deserves this medal probably more than anyone else. If he doesn't receive the gold, I might create myself or ask to sbs create and give him an Honor medal at least, even if it doesn't appear on his profile. I will post it here on this page.

Okay, I will watch your game and copy your moves :D

I really wanted to participate, but I had no time for it, considering that this chally takes a bit more time than others.
Now with the new deadline, I will definitely upload my record.. Bu I think it will be around next year.

 8)
Really hope your not frustrated, and maybe come up with another chally : )

What more time? You can finish easily in half hour. It is shorter than one usually mole game.   8)
And you have advantage: you can look how it made others. My first attempts was without it, so I must read map and think.
