Scheme description:

The concept of Drive for Weapons or DFW is a combination of Driver and Walk for Weapons. It is a race in which each player has 2 worms and it has to use only 1 of these (Driver) to go driving the other (Stoned) throughout the circuit (just like Driver scheme) but this time the indestructible maps are filled with weapon sprites on the floor due to the mandatory rule of only using a weapon if the worm being controlled is adjacent to a sprite of that weapon (just like Walk for Weapons). The scheme was based on Boom for Weapons.

Challenge rules:

Play with two worms (same team), using the map provided here and the DFW scheme available on this page. Why not Time-Trial? Mainly because the utilities would last forever and the map was designed for 30 seconds turn time.

  • Place one worm at the ''Driver'' worm start and the other worm at the ''Stoned'' worm start (inside the Skunk Chamber).
  • The second worm is like a "ball". It cannot be controled. Only the driver worm is able to move the stoned worm (attacking it).
  • You can only use a weapon or utility if the driver worm is touching an area bounded to the weapon sprite. Sometimes the area is highlighted and determined, other times there are signs very close to an area, obvious enough to understand that the weapon should be used from that place. Teleport to teleport.
  • To finish the challenge, first it is necessary to leave the Stoned worm on the hospital roof, then the Driver worm needs to go home, plop Stoned twice in a row using Petrols, and then Driver must plop itself twice on the GG spot (Homing Missile). Only with the two worms eliminated from the game (after they reached their finishes and their team health bar disappear from the game) it will be a valid replay for the challenge.

All the 24 stages available on a big sign of the map must be completed (check TUS scheme page for a replay).

The fastest valid gameplay time will be the winner of the challenge. The time will be counted right after the two worms be placed on their corresponding start (when the very first turn starts running) and will be ended when the Driver worm be ploped 2 times in-a-row, when it touches the water on the second plop (officially eliminated from the game).

It can be interpreted differently, but I think it's quite obvious that the teleport sprite is there and not the petrol one, which is on the right or under that platform. Maybe you will not agree with me, maybe moderators can say their opinions too, but I decided to allow Pinkman's replay, because this mistake is almost insignificant in my opinion, it's pratically irrelevant, since the only things that would change is 1 jump of difference and maybe the angle would change a little bit, but not so much, since he was on the very edge of the platform. Not to say that it is a great run and all his previous attempts were disqualified, he played this challenge a lot already and not many people are participating.

I accepted the new replay uploaded by Danger, that has very small mistakes that I decided to forgive too. One is that pigeon on the last turn that was fired at the Homing Missile sprite and might have pushed the flames to a different position when he used the missile, however I don't think the flames changed their position, if they changed it was minimal difference. The other mistake was the use of Super Banana Bomb at HHG sprite, but Danger corrected the mistake and this didn't interfere on the gameplay.

So, at least for now (Jessie?) Pink(y)man (the genius, and the Brain, the insane) will be at first place, since his run is the fastest one. If the participating players and moderators don't agree with this or I change my mind, that replay will be disqualified. It's there to spice things a bit more.

And please, don't make more mistakes like this guys, I might reject future replays if these small mistakes be abused.

Almost Danger, your time was very good until you reached the rope to nana glitch part, the run was "killed" from that point. Still a good run, though (12.92 min). And no mistakes too (except for one that didn't affect the gameplay).

10:00 and it could be even better without bad shoots. And there was one small mistake when I used homing missile instead of pigeon (F1 pressing problem), but it only wasted time, it do not move worm, so it is OK.

Less than 10 minutes: 9 min and 55.28 seconds. Danger135 takes the lead now.

I hope to see something like HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!!!! to the bronze medal go to someone else different than myself with a tutorial replay.

Probably no. That rope to banana and rope to boat part is too difficult for normal (no rope) players. It was difficult for me too, and I played years yet, shoppers, towers...

Well, but there are many all-rounder players on TUS that play any type of scheme. I will still hope someone else play this challenge. There's still 9 days left to myself complete 1 billion of seconds of existence (32 years) and if a different person get the bronze medal it would be a great gift.

By the way. There's something I didn't said about the Nana Glitch to Boat part. There's an easy way to pass that part that can be considered valid. Since the sprites have Ninja Rope and Super Banana, it could be possible to use super banana from the rope to reach the boat. It's easier to get to the boat dropping S. Nana from the rope. It's still something that could be debated, though. This was tested and the super banana dropped from rope wouldn't be used to skip other parts of the map, it would be very hard to do this and whoever manage todo it would deserve that.

There are also other techniques that could be explored to speedrun this map. For example, using the dynamites without the baseball bat the way you were doing at the beginning when you were using v3.7 with RubberWorm. The dynamites could push the Stoned and the Driver to the hospital together. Another thing that could potentially work is to make Driver go get LG at the hospital first, use sheep launcher to go back to Boat on the same turn and use bat with LG at stoned to make it land on the hospital without using the dynamite. That's why there's a possibility to end this map in 6 min using tool assist.

One thing that is almost impossible to a human make without tool Assist, but could also work: use rope + super nana to make Driver go home really fast, skipping all that long ninja rope return part. This was tested and I think it's only really possible with TA. Driver can reach the flower branch or the GG missile spot with the Super Nana.

Obs: the reason DFW did not have teleport to go home is that usually when you give a ride to someone by car, you have to go back home alone. Roping home would add a bit more of Rope Race to the scheme, make players explore the map (and its graphics and details) in a different way (~100% of it using Driver) and still keep this aspect of being the driver, afterall the first prototype map name is "Ride to the Hospital".  The updated graphics version of the map transformed it really into a city.

Congratulations to Danger135 for winning this challenge with an impressive time and also to Pinkman that took second place with a very good time, hard to achieve. You guys rock! Thank you very much for playing this challenge so bravely! This is not an easy challenge and to create it, it took more than one year of testings and work. sbs and I really apreciate your efforts.

I would like to also announce that Danger135 is winner 3 times. The official winner of the main category challenge (with extended deadline), winner for beating the map with an alternative ending (separate category) and also winner of the main category with the original deadline of 1 month. So I uploaded an honor medal as an attachment of this comment, because it's not possible to give Danger this medal with the TUS system. I also would like to give the Bronze medal to Danger. If could be possible, I really would like to remove the Bronze medal from my profile to give it to Danger135.

Thanks again guys!!!
