I asked inza to play way before the deadline but he didnt answer, when he did I had only 2 days available so I proposed monday but my car broke in the farm so I was waiting for a ride and asked politely to wait but Kradie is really strict with his deadlines.

Kradie, why did you proceed inzsome and not donnie if donnie has evidence that he was making more of an effort to play the match? Was there something behind the scenes we're not aware of?

I don't see either of them posting in this thread until it was too late so wondering what aided your decision.
Statistically speaking, Donnie would have had the upper hand against Inszome.

My decision has nothing to do with Donnie as a person, or any past and recent events.

I only proceeded Inzsome because of my strict custom cup rules. I presume all contenders read them.

Inzsome did try to communicate with Donnie multiple times. Sometime without success of getting a reply.

This is false, we had an agreement for monday but when I tried to come home my car wouldnt work.
So I imeddiately let him know I was stuck outside home, and you too as the cup hoster. Check 2 screenshots above.
Edit: Not really imediately because connection in the farm is rare, I had to go several kilometers to do that in the next day.

This is really frustrating because It was not my fault. Maybe I shouldnt join any other cup with so strict deadlines.

Since Kradie is the Cup Moderator, if he set a deadline, it's up to the players to follow this deadline.

Regardless of the reasons for failure to get the games done by the deadline, Kradie is within his rights to proceed, deadline extensions can be requested or given by moderators but as far as I'm aware, not mandatory.

I honestly cannot fault Kradie for this.

So the question comes down to, who deserved the technical win? Who actually made the most effort to organize their game? Who reached out to who first? Who is more to blame for not getting the games done on time?

If it turned out that donnie did actually do more to deserve the technical win, what could we even do about it? I've seen single games backtracked before but never a Semi-Final leading to a Final and Bronze match. This would mean those other players get their matches cancelled as well.

However if donnie did make the most effort, I'd say that's pretty unfair to advance inzsome.

If there was a request for action to be taken about this, I'd prefer MonkeyIsland handle this as I've never experienced this situation before and there aren't really any rules about it.

We'll see what Kradie replies first.

I can't account for every possible contingency for every participants of my cup. Therefore I act on my strict rules, and this may seem unfair for some. But  people should be AWARE of the rules when they enter, and understand the consequence in case of contingency. Stuff happens to everyone and it sucks. I did see Donnie's message here on TUS, but it was on the 9th, and 11 hours remained until the cup's deadline. I chose to look past his message and proceed Inszome. Could I have waited? Of course. But why did I not do it? I wanted the cup to be over ASAP, and not have to wait until Thursday and Friday. Was this a personal decision? A swing at Donnie? No.

What do you mean I advanced you twice? I just seek clarity.

Thanks.

That's all well said Kradie, but can you provide evidence for what you said earlier please:

Inzsome did try to communicate with Donnie multiple times. Sometime without success of getting a reply.

Just in case donnie tries to argue this, could you provide evidence of that in this thread please? That way everyone can be assured everything was done fairly.

This is the best I can provide. I have always tried to be the Intermediary between the contenders, particularly near deadline. Everyone else plays just fine though. If this is isn't enough to anyone's satisfactory. Then I have nothing more to add.

"How come my opponent only talk to you"

HAHAHA. This guy never added me on discord and basically never uses a snooper. Maybe if you joined #ag you would talk to me like sock, doc, kradie. Hell, even #worms on IRC you would find me. What a manipulator. :D
Whatever, we can still play the match even if the final score won't be changed.

Based on the evidence shown so far, donnie made first contact, directly. After donnie's initial message to inzsome, inzsome didn't reply for 3 days, then donnie replied on the same day saying he couldn't play for 3 days so it seems pretty equal there in terms of not being available to play, 3 days each.

However, the screenshots show that donnie was checking his mail more regularly, as he replied on the same day when inzsome replied to donnie.

Unless anyone can provide some evidence that inzsome made more effort than the messages already shown, then it's pretty clear, at least to me, that donnie made more of an effort to play his games and communicate to organize his games. It just looks to me like donnie actually cared more about getting the games done, he even appealed asking for a little more time.

The fact donnie actually let inzsome know he wasn't going to be available for 3 days, in my eyes, is a huge sign of respect, rather than just ignore and ghost people.

If it was me, based on what I've seen so far, I'd have proceeded donnie, not inzsome, I'm basing that purely on the images shown in the thread so far though.

I'll ask MonkeyIsland to see what his opinion is, even if nothing happens here, perhaps some guidelines can be thought up to help avoid this situation in future.

Personally, I try to message people and tell them to directly reply to the event page/thread to show their effort and secure their position, this holds the most priority when selecting technical wins in my eyes.

In an ideal world, all participants who sign up, would actually check the event page/thread and do their best to communicate and organize their games on a daily basis.
