Description:
Welcome everyone to the first TUS cup that FoxHound planned (the two Realistic cups don't count, because I was the alternative moderator). Do you remember NAiL's Quickdraw scheme? It was the winner of Worms Scheme Contest. It received 3 tournaments on Worm Olympics and 1 successful cup on TUS (plus two attempts).

Now it's time for a Quickdraw cup in 2023 with 113 new .bit maps by Kaleu and FoxHound + 88 custom terrain PNG maps with reseeded objects + the original 100 NAiL maps = 301 maps! You can also create your own Quickdraw maps following NAiL's instructions, or change the terrain of the maps and reseed the objects (don't forget to convert them to PNG if they are custom wkTerrainSync terrains). By the way, Quickdraw received a new category of maps on TUS!

Important reminders about the scheme:

This is a scheme about roping skills (yes, they are really important) and ground scheme skills (yeah, this is not a Shopper). It has only 10 seconds of turn time. Mines are instant! First turn you cannot attack, only hide your worms, use girder, or knock enemy worms. Sudden Death doesn't take so much time to happen. Weapons are shitty and very limited, health is 55hp. There are NO CRATES. Map is usually ploppy. The smaller tunnels are good to hide, but may also difficult your movement (or your attack). Low Gravity and Fast Walk are unlimited. A normal turn is to rope, land and use 2 shotgun shots ideally to kill at least 1 worm, and then, hide.

More information available on Quickdraw Worms Knowledge Base article: https://worms2d.info/Quickdraw

Maps:

Original NAil maps (100)
Kaleu maps (25)
FoxHound maps (88 .BIT regular terrains + these same maps [88] with reseeded custom terrain objects = 176)

Cup rules:

Group phase will be played in Best of 3 (bo3) format
After the group phase (the qualified players) will play in best of 5 (bo5) format

Warming up and playing funners before the cup is recommended to get used with the scheme.

The scheme used will be the authentic and original Quickdraw scheme by NAiL. It has no rules, no RubberWorm features and no 3.8 features. Kaleu and I planned updating this scheme, but we gave up, because after many testings we realized the scheme is great the way it is.

This cup will be 1vs1. Quickdraw is played with 8 worms per team in this case.

There are currently 301 maps of Quickdraw on TUS, but if you want to create your own maps or reseed objects you're allowed. You can also play on the experimental map "Quickdraw FH 15", but only if both players agree. You can also play on other experimental maps if both players agree. Although, if the map is completely different from a regular Quickdraw map, for example: playing on open island maps or tower maps, as a cup moderator I can l subjectively judge this maps, by my own concept of what is a Quickdraw map and cancel those games.

The cup is planned to last 1 Month, 2 weeks for group stage and 2 weeks for the rest. However, I might extend the deadlines if I feel necessary. Although, I want this cup to be succesful, so players should play their games soon!

Will you be Lampião, representing the Cangaço, in the middle of the Caatinga?

Or will you be Billy The Kid, representing the Wild West?

Credits
I would like to say thanks to Kaleu for being my ultimate rival in Quickdraw all these years. Quickdraw made us play a lot together. And thanks for accepting being the auxiliar cup moderator, you have more experience than I on this.

I would like to say thanks to Echiko and doc for gently creating the cup big image, and the custom medals of this cup.

finally a nice detailed cup description which shows the author(s) put some time, effort and style to make it unique, instead of f.e:

"taner intermediate cup
bo3 games. good luck
use league schemes.
suck an asshole"

The legend is back again. Welcome to the cup!

Now we have the minimum number to start the cup, but I will let a little more time to see if more players join the cup. I confess I was expecting 12 players at least for this cup, but if only 6 will play, well, at least the cup can happen.

The cup is with 9 participants for a while. I think I will pair the groups if it reaches 12 players, if not possible we will begin with 10. So at least one more player needs to join so that we can start playing the cup, but I planned 12 since the beginning.

Consider joining Quickdraw cup, people!

Groups are paired, since I waited a long time and no more people joined, also 1 person left, so I could start the cup with 8 players.

The deadline of the groups stage will be 16 days from now on (June 27th).

It seems that the randomness made group 1 very tough in my point of view. So those games will be intense, but still best of 3. Group 2 can still surprise as many players are not so used with Quickdraw scheme yet.

You can start arranging your games. Good luck!

10 days left. Please, people, play your games. Beware that some time zones are completely different, so weekends are important.

Alright. I advanced to the next phase of this tournament Mega´Adnan, SIBASA and Kaleu. From now on it will be Best of 5 for you. SIBASA and Kaleu can start playing. The deadline for the end of this cup is now set to 15 days from now. Mega´Adnan will have to wait a little bit, since I'm having a lot of troubles to comunicate with Laclac. I extended the deadline of our group to Friday almost Saturday. If Laclac doesn't comunicate with me until this date, I will proceed myself to the next phase, because I don't want to loose a weekend waiting for his response. I trided TUS IM, TUS PM, Discord, Anything Goes and talking with other players and he didn't reply to me. I hope he plays, though, we have the same number of wins.

We are at the finals. FoxHound vs Kaleu fighting for the gold, Mega´Adnan vs SIBASA fighting for the 3rd place.

Note that Mega´Adnan beat Kaleu in the group phase and SIBASA beat me in the group phase too.

And this cup has reached its end. Thank you very much to all participants! It was a great experience and time playing with you, watching the games and organizing this cup!

I hope Echiko and doc don't mind, because I will show the full size medals of this cup, that are beautiful!

In 4th place, without a medal, we have SIBASA (representing Jesse James)

The Bronze Medal goes to Mega`Adnan!

Representing Billy The Kid:

The Silver Medal goes to myself!

Representing Corisco:

The Gold Medal goes to Kaleu!

Representing Virgulino Ferreira da Silva (Lampião):

The only Brazilians of this cup got 1st and 2nd places, I guess Cangaço won over Wild West!

PS.: We all know that the real Cangaceiro of WA is Albus (it was his old nick). Unfortunately he didn't participate of this cup.
