Big Billy

It's time for the next Big TTRR Cup!

I hope to see as much players as last time and maybe even more nice games.
I stacked up the games per match a bit, so it might be possible.
Group Stage is Bo5, K.O. Stage Bo7 and Finals are Bo9.

I made a new mappack for this one with some nice backgrounds: https://www.tus-wa.com/maps/mappack-635/

Come and join us!

Lancelot

confirmed :)

p.s - this is one of my least favorite schemes, so unfortunately I will not be participating here. sry
TUS community here is practically dead...

I don't see the point in being here, much less playing at a pro level, including cups and other shit...

No one is interested in this here, and no one appreciates the efforts of other players to raise activity.
Doesn't matter, I won't lose anything if I leave this community forever.
Sooner or later, it will die out, it's inevitable.

However, WA is immortal, and will live in my heart, along with the Sonic universe.

What exactly should I consider? Each player may get a scheme that they are not familiar with, and both players may not know scheme very well.
That is the point of the Wheel of Fortune cup. The meaning of randomness and unpredictability.

But let's not talk about that here. There are other ways to discuss these things.

Peace.

I think he meant to consider this scheme to be included in the WoF cup.
Would be nice for sure.

ttrr scheme is in the Wheel of Fortune cup.

I don't know why you didn't notice it there. I got the ttrr scheme in the playoffs last year, but I didn't play that match.

Big TTRR is different than TTRR. By the way, the wiki lacks info about this scheme "TTBRR" or "BTTRR", and BigBilly is a player that is promoting this concept recently.

By the way, I think I prefer the name "Time Trial Big Rope Race" (TTBRR). It makes more sense to me, because it's BRR being played in time trial format, and not Time Trial Rope Race being upscaled.

its the same scheme as ttrr, though.  kinda like shopper vs big shopper.  and i thought big ttrr is exactly the same as ttrr only upscaled?  you lost me here fox

For me TTRR traditionally was played with water at the bottom, and players could plop if they fail. Also, Big RR has swoosh and Fly parts that TTRR doesn't have. I understand that BigBilly's maps are mostly made in Big Rope Race Generator (BRRG) for this scheme, so the swoosh and the fly don't apply so much for maps made by this program. I do imagine maps being handmade for this scheme like this, though:  playing Time Trial with those classic obstacles and trick designs of the Big RR maps.

Another argument for my point of view: playing turn based rope race on a TTRR map and playing Time Trial on a big rope race map are very different ways of roping. So, in my opinion the map matters more than the timer-style. Of course that Time Trial and turn based RR have differences on the gameplay themselves, but I think the map affects more the way you rope.

That being said, Time Trial Big Rope Race still makes more sense to me than Big Time Trial Rope Race. Afterall the time playing the trial is not that big. The map is big, not the time.

Edit: next step is to create Time Trial Tower Rope Race. Because Tower Rope Race maps are different and the gameplay is different from BRR. It would be a mini tower map with those freaking crazy parts of Tower maps. That would be a cool scheme idea.

Would you say Time Trial Tower is an upscaled version of TTRR? Tower Time Trial Rope Race would sound as playing TTRR maps vertically, while Time Trial Tower Rope Race (or Time Trial Tower) sounds playing a Tower map in Time Trial format.

Edit 2: Don't forget that the scheme Time Trial Trick Race exists and it is not called Trick Time Trial Rope Race, because it's not like TTRR maps being played with colored lines sections for tricks, it's like short Trick Race maps that are played in Time Trial format.

Edit 3: now I'm thinking in Time Trial Surf Race (and not Surf Time Trial Rope Race), in Time Trial Checkpoint Rope Race (and not Checkpoint Time Trial Rope Race), in Time Trial Cannon Rope Race (and not Cannon Time Trial Rope Race) and all the other Rope Race variants being played in Time Trial format.

Time trial is a variation detail, the map and the rules of a scheme are way more important than if they are played as turn based or time trial. Of course that Time Trial is always better for fairness than turn based mode.

Edit 4: and now think in all other races in Time Trial format: Time Trial Boom Race (Boom Time Trial Race would be weird), Time Trial Bungee Race, Time Trial Driver (exists already, but played only as a challenge), Time Trial Boom for Weapons, Time Trial Drive for Weapons, Time Trial Drill Racer, Time Trial Super Sheep Race (Super Sheep Time Trial Race would be strange), Time Trial Wormopoly Party, etc.

Nah, the way this is presented is TTRR but big maps, like TTRR that takes 3 minutes or something to finish.

If it was the other way around it would be Time Trial Big Rope Race not Big Time Trial Rope Race.

So if the moderator of the cup means it's Big RR sized maps they should write it the correct way.

Big TTRR maps vs TT Big RR maps that are shorter to complete.

He does say 2nd edition so I've only just noticed this mistake now.

Yeah, I didn't pay attention to that. I could still include this scheme in the Wheel of Fortune cup, but I'm not sure if it's worth it when the groups are already done.
