Description:
Simple idea (see explanation at bottom) - Banning allround schemes to create Bo3 and Bo5 series.  There are currently 11 allround schemes, so each player will get either 4 bans (group stage), or 3 bans (knockout stage).  Might also be the truest measure of allround skill that we have, instead of scheme specialization.

For groups: Players take turns banning one scheme each until 3 schemes remain, then play Bo3 series with remaining schemes.
For knockouts: Players take turns banning one scheme each until 5 schemes remain, then play Bo5 series with remaining schemes.

Additional hypothetical explanation:
MonkeyIsland and Godmax are playing group match - Monkey chooses to ban shopper, roper, ttrr, big rr; Godmax chooses to ban t17, elite, intermediate, and aerial.  They play Bo3 with hysteria, BnG, and wxw.  Each player gets to pick which of the schemes to play/ban in alternating fashion - Monkey picks BnG, Godmax picks hysteria, pick 3 is wxw(if needed).  If players cannot decide who's picks/bans go first (imo doesn't really matter that much) use a simple game of chance https://pickerwheel.com/

This cup is spawned from Camper's dissatisfaction with allround playoff system being too slanted towards roping or a specific scheme set.  I personally agree, if you don't rope, you will maybe be forced to play 3 rope schemes in a Bo5 series, or 3 default, or 3 artillery.  This also emphasizes expertise in all disciplines (rope, default, artillery).

ADDITIONAL NOTE: T17 is deadcode's TTL scheme instead of default allround scheme, I believe it to be better and it is played in TTL league.

I didn't understand anything

Let other cup mods decide the fate of this cup

UPD: ok, after a while, i got the general idea.

but still, let one of the other mods decide whether to confirm the cup or not

n idea, Wally. definitely worth a try to figure out if it can change POs system

TheKomodo

Good idea, I still think it's not true allround though, that would be playing every scheme in Classic & Free leagues.

This looks fun though!

I was kind of winging it when I thought of this, Senator had a good idea that I like, was this:

"There are different ways of doing the scheme veto. For example players ban 1 scheme, then pick 1 scheme and then ban some more. Or pick 1 scheme right away and then ban until 1 scheme remains. You thought about all these options?"

I'm in favor of changing it to this, others opinions?  A good combination of banning + picking a scheme you want to play.  I'm thinking the first idea, each player bans a scheme, then picks a scheme.  The core of this cup is banning a scheme, so banning right away then picking one makes the most sense, followed by banning until 1 remains, or 3 in knockouts.

Yeah.. I thought it would be like that to be honest until I read the descrpiton so I vote to change. I like more that way.. ban-pick-ban..

This would give players the chance to at least choose something they like before having all their favorite schemes banned. It's fairer that way, otherwise in the end both players will only end up playing what they like least.

agreed, i lost enthusiasm to host a cup for now, but maybe revisit down the raod

TheKomodo

Why don't you just play every scheme during Playoffs? It IS supposed to be allround right?
