Description:
OK, story-time!

WEB-SURFING!

It can lead to weird straying routes...
for whatever reason, sometime ago
I ran into a video
showing the GameOver cutscene
from the ThemePark World game
(near-end of the video, 17;52),
& guess what musical sting was used?

(with the time-stamp :

Yep, it's a base-game
WA/WWP fanfare : Cartoony .

It's not unplausible to hypothesize
there might be at least one other
stock-material-based fanfare
among those that come with WA/WWP.

Anno 1602 also uses at least one
clip of stock audio -
the clarion call in Jaghtte.wav
is also heard in ep.9 of the
Dungeon Meshi animated series,
albeit with a far higher quality
(different years & means).

I understand it's a fairly common practice
for producers to use stock material -
it saves time, labour & money.

Given the humble & even challenged origins
of Anno1602
, I'm certain almost
if not every single sfx is stock.

A what if scenario, an alternate world
whence Team17 opted for one stock jingle
instead of the other, feels plausible...

alas, I cannot be so sure
as far as quality is concerned...
the time frame is very close :
Anno1602 - started 1996, released 1998
WA - started 1997, released 1999.
Then again, the two teams
may have compressed the jingles
by different measure via different tools...

these might still remain a SFDP
(Step From Development Practice).
