Title: Game #231130, reported by Mr-gusa
Post by: SIBASA on February 28, 2022, 08:31 PM
The final of the second round was declared a draw by the judges, although I would have argued, but  Mr-gusa won anyway, so I won’t argue :) Congratulations!

2nd round - 12:53 gametime

so this is the first time this rare situation happened. bl.

this has been stated in the cup description since the beginning of the cup, at the teleporting rules part:
"Cowing at the endgame before GG: if you fail the teleport and fail to pick up a crate when you are about to GG your opponent with a last killing blow as you are fleeing away, a draw result will occur. Neither you (because you failed the last teleport and crate) nor the enemy will win (because his last worm died anyway)."

a rather strange rule, because it did not affect the gameplay in any way

it does, there is a reason for why you need to get a penalty for failing the last teleport. what if you are about to finish the opponent, you teleport next to him, you pick up the crate, you put down a dyna, and you just teleport anywhere on the map? that wouldn't be fair. especially since the cup and the scheme has 2 unique rules for failing the teleport. if you fail the teleport, you gotta skip. if you finish off your opponent and want to escape easily like this and you miss the crate, it's not a deserved win :) we agreed to this, and it's written in the description

I do not argue - according to the existing rules, this is a draw, but I would like this rule to be brought up for discussion in the future in order to correct individual theses.

In my case, the enemy died in any case - whether I managed to escape or not, missed with a teleport or not, that is, no outcome would have affected the gameplay in any way.
