@PeCeTfull: If you install it, then you will get the portable files ;) I mean then you use those files in the installation directory as portable files. Or shall I upload them too, because you are not allowed to install applications on your computer?

On my computer, I'm able to install anything because it's mine. The problem is that I just don't want to drop litter on my system registry and since it's a simple application (at least to me) that's even easily copyable, it's not really a problem to just have it running as a casual process. Moreover, some peeps may be using a shared computer and hence, most likely they'll be avoiding installing anything as much as possible or won't gain any permission to do that.

Is there any open source snooper? I'd like to see a code on github :)  Also it's easier to report issues and stuff.

@Kaleu: Can you upload the errorlog.txt and send a link to it in PM? It can be found in the installation dir.

@Statik: I dunno.. maybe I will upload the source code somewhere.. but it's not so easy to find things there, even thought I tried to make it simple :D

You better do it, because who knows what's inside the code, maybe it uses CPU to mine bitcoins xD

Sorry Berria, I thought you are Kaleu, coz he was using similar avatar image xD

Btw I don't really know yet what the problem is.. at the weekend I will look at the source code if I can find any bug.. Does it freeze always, or you tried just one time?

However now I uploaded a little bit newer version, coz I found a little bug with /back messages.

@Statik: the only problem, that I really don't know how github works. I can upload it here in rar ^^ But it's 18 megabytes, so I am not sure that I can upload it here. And don't worry about bitcoins, coz I really dunno what is that :D

Tomi, you should read about git or other version control systems. It will save a lot of your time and nerves in the future :D

Important: the program attempts to install into Program Files folder. That folder is restricted on Vista, 7, 8 and newer, so the program cannot write any data inside it, and crashes when connecting to WormNET. Please change the default destination installation folder.

Or just use the Windows with admin rights or what. On my win 7 there are no such problems ;)

But I will modify this too!

Update: succeed.. I am lookin for the bug ^^

Update 2: I found the bug, but I will keep testing for a while to find others.. I will post the new version and the solution soon! ;)

Ok so I have uploaded the newest version (1.03), which should be the first stable version then, since my first attempt failed :D

Now it runs on Windows XP professional, and some other bugs got fixed too!

I uploaded also a portable version of the program.

I hope that now it will run for everybody ;)

Btw.: I am waiting for the suggestions about what should be in the News section. There could be invitations to play tus or cups or anything that would be important for the community to know.

I am really sorry Kaleu and Berria! :D Next time I won't try to recognize people only from their avatar picture :D

@Triad: I am really glad that you like it! If more people will start to use it, then I will surely continue developing it ;)

I updated the description about it. Maybe it will help people to recognize that it's not just a working thing without a good background structure, but maybe the most compatible snooper with this game right now ;)
Title: Re: Great Snooper | Support & Feedbacks
Post by: Tomi on February 23, 2014, 05:10 PM
Damn I needed to upgrade it to 1.04, because I've found some little bugs:

 - Load older messages will load 50 messages, not only 5
 - it didn't display _ (underscore) in game names
 - game name can't contain ; (semi-colon) character, because WormNet didn't like that.

So it is not really important to update from 1.03 to 1.04, but if you have time you could do that ^^

Yes unfortunately it's my best that I can make as design.. but probably I can get some people here who can plan a new, fascinating design. I can make the program look as they want, but I can't guess the design.

Well since the design is my best right now, I will need the help of somebody who is more creative than me!

I made a Photoshop picture of the snooper with all the needed layers to make the work of the designers easier. It is in the attachement of this message. So all the Photoshop fanatics who has some free time please try to make something and upload it here!

Same is with the Logo. I would be really glad if someone who is good at making logos would create a nice one.

unfortunately same with the sounds. I really don't know where should I look for a good "beep" sound. Every wav file is ok. Or if it is not wav, then we can convert it ;)

Logs and maybe auto-updater will be developed for sure in the next versions! ;)

Auto updater is almost ready to use, but I don't really know how logs should work.

I can't even find how wheat snooper uses/makes/generates them. Can anyone explain me pls? :D

Guys, as long I promised, that's my design suggestion to the gr8snp.

There are news like

1. User List in the left side
2. TUS shortcut buttons in the main bar
3. Horizontal Tab System
4. Removed sponsorship banner

TUS ICONS:

1. (nuclear) home tus (www.tus-wa.com)
2. (scales) analyze (https://www.tus-wa.com/leagues/analyzer/)
3. (flamethrow) complaints forum (https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/leagues-complaints/)
4. (l. sheep) recent games (https://www.tus-wa.com/leagues/recent-games/
5. (army) standings (https://www.tus-wa.com/leagues/classic-standings/)
6. (ming) cups (https://www.tus-wa.com/cups/)
7. (fp) tournaments (https://www.tus-wa.com/tournaments/)
8. (mail) pm (https://www.tus-wa.com/pm/)

With this skin, it will be something like a snooper for TUS players. ;D

It is just a plan right now, however I've already started to develop it, but I will give some days for the others if they'd like to share their opinion with us about the layout. So I guess in 1 or 2 weeks I can release it ;)

Ye, well the first goal that I started to develop this snooper is to make worms (especially league games) more popular and more active with a easy-to-use interface D

i kind of like the wormers on left side...

your just so used to worm list on right side, because thats default wnet...  either side seems like a fine choice, but i like prof's design, not much i would change...

except some obvious porn advertisements, or something.. nivman knows a site to get nice banners :D

Automatic, or manual (pressing a button if log is needed). If automatic, then how long should we store the logs? :D

Title: Re: Great Snooper | Support & Feedbacks

Isn't that secure login? :D If not, then I don't know about that feature... can you explain for me what is that, and how it works? :D
it connects to the website (TUS or other leagues) via a special php page that can also process the username and pass (which you might set to a different value for secure logging on TUS), and then there you get a webpage with the list of people logged in to this website. This page is parsed and such people are marked with colour in the userlist. It's a proof that they are who they are. You can see how it works in Wheat's source.
It also shows a league rank of preference: TUS classic, TUS free, and the third one

Ye I know about this feature.  Then only my english is too poor.. i thought it'a secure login :D
Btw i can't find the source code of wheat snooper.

In the next version I will implement this feature,  coz unfortunately it's needed.. however it may be also useful for the match searching feature.

Post by: Tomi on March 25, 2014, 12:12 PM
Hi all!

I am working on the new version of the snooper, but it needs some weeks to be done. But I am thinking about uploading here a test version, so you could test and find bugs before I would release the "stable" version.

It would be also cool for who are already using the previous version, because in the test version a lot of bugs have been patched. But there are also some (new) features, which don't work right now, but at least you could see how they are planed to work.

This whole thing could be done when I finish the auto-updater feature. Then the program could update itself automatically, when a newer version is released, so if everything works well, then you won't have to uninstall the test version of the program, because it will automatically update itself to the stable version.

Do anyone interested in this thing? :D

Hi!

Do anyone know a free web hosting service, which is not extremely slow? I would need to store some files there (news images, some setting for the snnoper and the files to update the snooper) to use them with Great Snooper.

Since now I was using 000webhost, but it removed the "site", because there weren't 10 visitors per months (and there were no website at all :D).

By the way the best would be is someone who has a server could offer about 10 megabytes for this project. Right now I can't afford a server.

Unfortunately those 2 or 3 people who uses the snooper will get now an error message at every startup :/

Probably I can solve it with google drive ;) However it's kinda slow. You need to wait about 1-2 seconds until it starts to send the file. But it's world-wide service.

Do anyone know any other disadvantages? I hope they won't delete my files one day.. :D

Hmm probably DropBox is faster :D

don't trust dropbox. If someone downloads about 10 GB of traffic from it within a day (it's easy to abuse), all your links will become invalid for 3 days, and possibly even forever (this bug had happened to me once I posted some file mirrors on a famous forum; I know I could contact them but I won't be bothered about doing that). This is the worst problem of the cloud storage services today, and it clearly shows how much of the information you store there you keep for your own, personal use.
I have about 20GB free on the websites I have, so I could upload it to there.

That would be cool man!
Right now I don't have any fear that I will abuse 10GB traffic, but other big problem is that it's 100 times slower than a simple webserver.

No, wheat uses QT framework, which isn't that heavy that .Net. However it's not really .Net what uses so much memory, but its WPF layout, which is the new way that Microsoft made for application layouts. I was searching a lot about how to reduce memory using, but I haven't found any solution for that yet. However I think it's system dependent.. I mean if you have memory enough, then it will use more.

And btw, it's interesting, but when you send the application to the tray, then it will use much less memory.

I didn't find a "close to tray" option, how do I minimize it to the tray? :O It sits in the panel, but not in the tray

EDIT: Add a feature to save recent "Away" message aswell, after restarting the snooper I always type the message manually, oof

[XP USERS]

I have made a new version of the snooper with some bug fixes. It will update itself if you are on Windows Vista or higher, but on Windows XP it will fail.
Please download this: Great Snooper No Installer (https://www.tus-wa.com/files/download/file-628-2/) and copy over the Great Snooper.exe file to your installation directory (overwrite Great Snooper.exe).
You need to do this only once and only if you are using version 1.2.1. ;)

Sorry about this :/

This is because the snooper was started as admin, and since WA is the child process, it also is started with admin rights.
Don't listen to anyone telling you to turn off UAC, because that's plain stupid. You don't want your PC to become as insecure as XP, where any misclick could damage the system permanently. It's like sitting as Root in linux, except with very little preventions, yet not enough to keep the system secure.

Hi! If you click the show log folder button in the top left menu (4th icon as I remember) it will show up a directory. Then go back with one directory and there will be the errorlog.txt. Can you post it here please?

And do you know when does that error happen? I mean like when you get a pm, or when you want to send a message, etc..

Szevasz Tomi!
[/b][/u]

Két dologban írnék. Kezdem a jóval. Nemrég töltöttem le, a kinézet nekem tetszik, áttekinthető.

:D Ha tudok, szívesen segítek a fordításban. Tudod, beszélek pár nyelvet, még ha nem is anyanyelvi szinten. :)

Uhm that seems like the application doesn't update its layout for some reason, but I think the problem should be with your machine. Haven't you installed any program that could cause this? Or maybe a restart should solve this problem.

(These layout updates are done automatically, I don't handle them in the snooper)
