Title: clanner activity
Post by: Peja on August 05, 2013, 05:51 AM
theres a significant drop of about 50 % during the last seasons. maybe its worth to think about changes. so far i can only think on 2 options.

a) put lower limit for minimum games to reach playoffs

b) extend the duration of a season (like 3 months one season >> which would make 4 seasons a year. we could use the results of these 4 sasons to create a final big tourney.)

Worms just gets boring now and then, I don't think it's particular related to TUS changes. At the moment I don't feel heavily attracted to play myself. 8)

theres a significant drop of about 50 % during the last seasons.

Not previous Season, previous Season was only drop of about 20-25%

This Season, it's definitely because of WO, it happens every WO, and that is the sole reason why I hate WO and wish it didn't exist, it kills Clanners almost entirely every f@#!ing time...

There is no need to lower the limit to reach PO..

It's not exactly confident to try for PO when everyone knows dt win every season cuz they have Mablak, they all learned to notch in BnG, and now they have anubis too...

No one can beat them in anything really now, it's f@#!ing boring.

dt is bored too, but mostly because there is no real challenge like it was 2+ years ago when I joined. We played vs CF, cFc, ps, etc. Now the most active clans are hysteria and shopper lovers, I won't be surprised if dt won't get into playoffs or lose it cuz only avirex & free will come (tho I trust in them xD).

It would be nice if we could agree with some clan (CF for example) to play several games with predefined schemes on a particular date/time, cuz it's boring to play the whole season vs 2-3 clans only.

season 33 is almost finished, so i already count it in.

saying its just caused by wormolympics (and happens every year) is wrong and everyone can see it in when looking here: https://www.tus-wa.com/leagues/seasons-info/

since i know komo is damm lazy:

clanners during last years worm olympics ; about 730

clanners right now: estimated 411

Yeah stat, basically, we play che/TdC all season lol, previous season +CAT but they are inactive cuz Chelsea has new job n stuff...

I pretty much agree with everything you said, so many clans have switched their rosters recently, hopefully it will be a superb PO final this time because we have barman/daina who are 2 of the best all-rounders, I would imagine myself/bar vs statik/mablak would be a great BnG match too.

It really sucks CF are so inactive... I would love to watch a CF vs dt PO Final with their best players someday...

Edit after seeing pejas post:

When I was in cFc we could never find a clanner because of WO, trust me, WO SERIOUSLY lowers clanner activity, I have noticed it for like 4 years now.

ye, CAT is inactive coz Chelsea & Jot are working :P I have time to play 1 WO tourney per 1 day (after work) xD but Jot is working more than me, and he is really inactive :P Tomorow we both have free day in job so maybe we will play clanners WO xD

Nope, AeF hasn't picked a hysteria for a long time, and we are the most active clan nowadays.
We are also not playing hysteria too often at all, which means that other clans tend to choose other schemes as well.

put advertisment on site and on gained money make prize for clan winner every season -> awesome challenge, i personally would play clanners 24/7 just like WO xD

Once newbies understand they can get some money (believe me there will be really a huge amount of money just with small small banner somewhere at buttom of the site which nobody wont even see), newbies will start making new clans, recruit potential mablaks, practise harder, and in a year or two there will be record amount of clans playing clanners
Im sure this will also force inactive pros to come back, just imagine you writing to random that there is now money prize for winning classic league season xD

Monkey can make a big amount of money to put a banner on site???

i say do it.... i would even commit to clicking on it each time i visit tus is that helps, 25% to the house, 25% to singles, 50% to clanner league....

that would bring alot of activity for sure!!

komo: dont act like dt has even a shot in the dark to beat you guys in bng, your all "oh, i cant wait for playoffs, its going to be such a great bng match, im creaming already"  c'mon man... bng is AEF's game, dt is not even counting on it, in fact we may discussing waving the white flag just to watch you rage ;)

on another note, yes.. Mablak is great.
Title: Re: clanner activity
Post by: TheKomodo on August 05, 2013, 01:36 PM
avi, seriously, Mablak/Stat has a fair shot at me and bar, considering we are both rusty as hell, even if we weren't, imo those are the 2 guys on Wnet who have a good chance to beat us.

I know you hate BnG, but PO BnG with dt is the highlight of clanning for me... I REALLY look forward to it.

idk what's the best solution. In fact We hace a clanner activity problem, maybe is about inactivity of our players or the game got boring.

I would like to see some change in the clans / clanners settings. It's not necessary but it can become the things more interesting.

I don't know why Komo thinks that me & mab is a nice bng team, since we played bng together only once in PO and lost it (at least I remember only 1 game) :D but thanks anyway, I haven't practiced it for months, let's stick to the topic :P

With the end of the season quickly approaching, what is gonna happen to the PO this season with just 2 clans currently qualified? Could a temporarily decrease in games played needed for this season at least get 4 clans into PO? Any opinions? :O

this is true, really. I know a lot of WA players who left worms to play League of Legends... I started to play it too about 2 months ago.

I think just remove the 50%+ required winning ratio, so only most active clans will proceed (CAT is inactive for example, but has higher rank than most clans).

Post by: Peja on August 13, 2013, 12:05 PM
cat is quite active since they recruited, im sure tag will make it, so basicly cat has to win 50% of their remaining games. if not i would decrease the minimum of played games in relation to the overall activity of the league like we already did in singles (tel, trl etc)

How the hell can LoL replace the legendary Worms Armageddon???

To be honest, I just bought a sweet gaming rig, spent the last 3 days playing Bf2 (yes I know it's an old game, but one of my favourite games ever).

I pre-ordered Worms: Clan Wars, and I am hooked on Worms: Revolution so i'll be playing that and as soon as Bf4 comes out, WA can kiss my ass goodbye.

You gonna quit W:A when BF4 comes out? Or just go inactive for a longer period of time?

Just as a player for a while mate, I will still organize Darts Tournaments and stuff, because I have multiple computers, but I won't be playing anything for a long time.

Rogi, WA won't die.

Nice of you to miss us guys! :) Unfortunately, I don't see much of a chance for a big return any time soon. Not talking in the name of others, of course, but I have a feeling they are on a similar opinion. :(

two seasons ago you had 800+ clanners played, its just a bad season. it happens in WO and has happened in other leagues, summer is always quiet and you have WO going on as well as eac games being played.

Maybe some of the more active clans have too many members?, im not active enough to know.

if anyone wants to join a clan with a long history and plenty of accolades, just pm me ::)

CF will going active again, but maybe with some new look. If we play again, then only with CF tag. You will never see TdC-Random00 or CAT-SPW. But maybe we will recruit aome new members in the future. Thats not easy to find the right ones, we have strictly rules.

Also there prolly will be EAC 2014 for 95%. So we are still in touch with worms but with less activity and on a different level. This year EAC we have 5 participants. So thats a good reference about our standing. There is not only tus, I admit.

Post by: Crazy on August 14, 2013, 09:09 AM
CAT-SPW, that tag looks good on you! I'm not sure why the activity this season is so bad, but it's probably more then just one factor. As already mentioned, WO draws alot of time and 1300 games played in total there so far. Summer for me personally has always been less time of gaming, I don't know if others feel likewise. In general the activity on WA has been decreasing since 2011, yet the activity is still higher then the period before TUS started: http://stats.worms2d.info/

Maybe us TUS'ers are spoiled with activity too good to be true since the start of the league?

In the most countries of Europe there is vacation now. The luckier people are on holiday, relaxing (like sm0k xD).. the less luckier ones are having a summer-time-job and just working without any free time (like me :(). And a third reason may be that here was so f@#!ing hot that normal people just can't sit in front of the computer, coz people don't want to do anything then, just go to the beach. ;)

But Summer will end in some weeks and I think that a lot of players will come back, there will be a lot of change in the members of the clans and activity will come back to the normal style. At least I hope so ;D

How the hell can LoL replace the legendary Worms Armageddon???

I said the same thing some months ago, when i tryed it i liked this game, but the most funny thing is that all my classmates play it. I already stopped to play it (due to massive lags -.-) but yeah, LoL can replace WA, and it's even more addictive because so many people plays it.
