Title: People Avoiding schemes..
Post by: Kangaroo on November 10, 2013, 08:04 AM
Its annoying people playing in the TUS classic league but refusing to ever play certain schemes...

In my opinion if you are going to play in a league you should not be allowed to avoid a certain scheme... its unfair.

Many people receive a bad education nowdays. Kids are alone, left at home like a cat, playing videogames all day long, with no friends, no real life, then you get kids like Asbbsest etc. FUll of problems, with the war in their mind, it's not their fault.

The irony that ANO misspelled Asbest's already misspelled/nonsensical name?  Suffice to say, ANO's version made about as much sense as the google translate powered original.

So bad education can be measured/evaluated by one's ability to spell words that aren't actually words.  I'm learning every day ::)

Asbest is a word, though: http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%90%D1%81%D0%B1%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%82. Not all words are necessarily english, you know! But perhaps you know it better as asbestos. But there's more irony than just the spelling.

Even though it was 3 years ago I read the link for CKC vs TaG, and while I feel what Chicken is saying that he doesn't want to lose the points his clanmate earned, I have to agree with TaG.

Chick says "Also. Whats more lame, picking someones weakest scheme or avoiding playing your weakest scheme?"

I would say avoiding playing your weakest scheme is more lame.

Most people will know, I will avoid my worst schemes like the plague if possible, but if there are no other players around I will play it even if I will do anything possible to avoid it.

Besides, and this goes for everyone, if we stopped avoiding our weakest schemes, we would be alot better at them lol...

It's one of the reasons why I don't play anymore, people avoiding and basically getting special treatment, I don't mean bias special treatment, just, everyone has too much freedom in this league it's not worth competing anymore.

People can play anything they like/want, but once some1 says on ag "tus defaults only" should be banned! Komo is right! ;D On the other hand, these people don't have an alternative. Or they do? I used to ask for tus ropers on ag because there is no roper league...
Title: Re: People Avoiding schemes..
Post by: avirex on November 12, 2013, 08:09 PM
i did not know you had a worst scheme komo? :DD

this has been discusses several times...

there is absolutely nothing wrong with asking for default only, or roper only, as long as you make it clear thats all you want/willing to play before anything starts...

playing your schemes first, then telling your opponent his options are limited is pretty rude, and bullshit, i think everyone can agree on that...

but, if im in AG with titahemp, or nino.... neither of them want to play any kind of rope scheme... does that mean they cant enjoy clanner games?? i dont think so.. if there is no other dt online, i have no problem looking for "default only" clanners with them...  of course, it may be harder to find a clan to accept, but thats the price we pay.

long story short: make it clear what your willing to play, and what you dont want to play... when you give limited scheme options, you will get limited opponents.

if you dont make it clear what you dont want to play, and refuse your opponents pick... you should forfeit the win, and lose the game. gg nub

I honestly think you are just degrading the skill level of the community by allowing this and encouraging it.

If you don't want to play a pick fine, but your clan as a whole should be forced to play it.
Title: Re: People Avoiding schemes..
Post by: avirex on November 12, 2013, 08:38 PM
its not that TUS is allowing it, or encouraging it... your the only one who is saying that...

there is no way to stop it, and its not a big enough problem to even care...

1)can anyone tell me the list of players that request not to play certain schemes? i been playing tus singles pretty frequently, and have not come across one yet.

2)once we have this very small list of players that deny schemes, what do you suggest to do with them komo??

So his name is based on asbestos, better known as the material used to insulate pipes before people realized it could give you cancer.  Asbest is, in fact, in name and in principle, a cancer to the worms community?  Irony?
Title: Re: People Avoiding schemes..
Post by: TheKomodo on November 13, 2013, 01:01 PM
Clans shouldn't be allowed to ask for specific schemes, regardless what the reason is, if you don't want to play certain schemes, then recruit players who DO enjoy those schemes you don't enjoy.

If all clans took this on board, there wouldn't be a problem, clans who tried to avoid schemes would gain a bad reputation, and everyone could just avoid playing them, and they would have to eventually play if they want to compete.

It isn't rocket science, all it would take is a team effort, but people are too selfish aren't they...

The Walrus 4 President!!! This is the point.

Asbest or "AS BEST", was just an example.

My sentence was a parable of life. You should learn more from me.

People avoid schemes because are not able to respect.
When I was a kid there was a spoiled kid, who always had nice soccer-balls, then he was use to say:
"THe ball is mine and I decide what we play".
As you can imagine this kind of assholes don't survive in real life, neither their balls.
And do you know why?
Because it doesn't matter how nice are your balls if you have not someone who wants to play with those.

komo, what your suggesting would be great, if we had a large community...

but because we have a small community, we take the games we can get...

its pretty rare that dt has 2 members on at any given time, nevermind 3...

should dt not clan when its just me and tita?? that will decrease the activity even more on tus...

or should we increase the activity, and find a clan thats willing to play by our stipulations of default only???

its not rocket science indeed, try to wrap your mind around these concepts brother.

The community is big enough for this not to be a problem, the problem is most people care too much about having great statistics.

It's the people who cause the problem, not the amount of people.

Personally I think alot of clans have too many members, and not that it bothers me but clans like dt who take the best players & clans like CF who have some of the best players but don't even play...

Maybe if these clans cared less about winning, and more about enjoying the game as a whole, it'd be better.

so cf players should be inactive in other clans and dt grabs the best players. yeah lately they recruited ren xD.want me to quote you from his aef tryout topic?

im with you on this avoding thing btw.  but on the other hand i dont see much need to change anything. i barely see people only asking for specific schemes, still its awesome to watch the profile of this guy and his overall rating: https://www.tus-wa.com/profile/M4v3r1cK/ .
bloody hell even avirex plays hysteria. to agree to play specific schemes shouldnt be forbidden though, its just stupid. see it as an agreement between 2 players instead of avoiding, maybe it helps.
Title: Re: People Avoiding schemes..
Post by: TheKomodo on November 13, 2013, 08:44 PM
Peja I don't mind if both clans are more than happy to avoid a scheme.

If a clan asks to avoid a scheme and the other clan says no, they should HAVE to play that scheme.

If a clan asks to avoid a scheme and the other clan says yes, they sure, no problem.

But you should not be allowed to avoid a scheme unless both parties agree.

its like talking to a wall......

OK, TUS, LISTEN UP!!!

WE ARE GONNA GO BY KOMO'S LOGIC!!!

IF ANYONE REFUSES TO PLAY A SCHEME, WE ARE GOING TO GIVE FREE WINS!!! AFTER 10 OR MORE FREE WINS, WE WILL BAN THEM FROM TUS!!...

THIS WILL INCREASE ACTIVITY!! OK??  TRUST KOMO!! HE SAYS ITS FACTS!

ps: dt takes the best players? lol...  anything else you want to bitch about??

side note: im so glad your back komo, these forums needed drama in a big way, welcome back brother!

Hey darKz, myself included pal.

And also TdC, who have half of wnet in their clan lol.

Nothing wrong with it, just saying it's things like this that cause these problems.
Title: Re: People Avoiding schemes..

tdc has half of wnet?? wtf??

they have berria, vok, NC, and guuria that actively play...

then you have some other not so actives, TheRedi, and maybe a couple others...

how do they have half of wnet???

your a hypocrite saying that, considering currently AeF has the largest clan of active members on wnet.

komo, honestly all your posts are making you look like a jackass... this is bringing back fond memories ;D
Title: Re: People Avoiding schemes..

We are very active indeed, but when you count... there's only 6 of us active: me, Pej, Chels, Kyh & Swist and 2 days or so a week barman shows up. That's about it.

I wish people would be more accepting of changing clans every 3 or 4 months or so. It's a shame that guys like Random, chicken or franz stick to their old clans that dont really have a future and are practically 'dead'. That's active people being lost to the clan scene  :(

Would be nice if they shook things up by joining one of the current or upcoming clans. Or even form temporary alliances with other semi-dead clans for 1 or 2 seasons.
I have a strong feeling that clans are the cornerstone to keep people engaged and active on worms.

Only just noticed this but i'll reply to it anyway lol.

Half of wnet is obviously exaggerating lol, they do have the most members though which was the point, doesn't matter who is active or not.

What HHC said, it would be nice if people were more open to changing clans more often just to keep things fresh & exciting.

avi - aren't you bored of dt by now dominating every single PO you enter?

There should be the home clan and the league clan. I dont want to leave TdC but it would be fun and fresh to play sometimes with totally new line up. Not sure if i had enough time to play that much tho.

I agree, there was a number of times when I felt like changing clans either because I was bored or my clanmates weren't active. In the end I decided to stick with my clan and continued to be bored and/or inactive. It doesn't really make sense - I think we make those decisions because in W:A we all have known each other for so long and spent a couple years, some even a decade together and because we have a very limited amount of players/clans. For example, I had no problem leaving my (now former) Dota 2 team in a heartbeat because I haven't known the guys for as long (no real attachment) and I can just look for a new team when I feel like it, there are literally thousands looking for players.

If only people on W:A weren't so quick in calling someone a clan hopper, it's not as bad as it sounds in my opinion. In the end we all just want to have fun and need some fresh wind from time to time.

loyality you have, or not. Im in the same clan for over 10 years because I am that kind of a man. So this is just me, like in real life with my jobs, girlfriends etc.

There are guys which never can rest. They have to move and change things the whole life. Guess they even would change parents every couple of years, if its possible.

Loyality is a great attitude.  ;)

Im pretty loyal at everything that i do in my life. Sometimes it goes for too long tho. Mostly because im so obstinate. I keep stuff in my life even i know that i dont need it or it affects some bad things. I think there are two kind of loyalities. Or maybe another one something combined with obstinacy. Real loyality is to accept any decision of friend, no matter what it is, and still stand with him imo.

e. and i wouldnt blend everything here, like gf/wife stuff. Its totally different case as it doesnt have the same purpose.
