I want a sequel for District 9!

i dont want a sequel after Elysium was pretty boring. district 9 was amazing because of the apartheid background.
any sequel would likely turn into some well known good vs evil stuff like Elysium.

I can't draw the connection. Are you saying all sci fi movie sequels are going to suck because Elysium sucked?

What does Elysium have to do with anything?

its from the same guy, you dumbass  ;D

in district 9 bloomkamp just adopted the story of his "alive in joburg" . actually the whole movie works because of a specific theme. at the end of d9 the apartheid topic is pretty much done, the same shocking effect just wouldnt work a second time. thats why a sequel would probaly suck like his second movie Elysium. pretty dumb story about different classes and totaly foreseeable.

QuoteMedia rights capital:
A Million Ways to Die
Elysium (2013)
Ted (2012
30 Minutes or Less (2011)
The Adjustment Bureau (2011)
Devil (2010)
The Box (2009)
The Invention of Lying (2009)
Shorts (2009)
BrĂ¼no (2009)
Deception (2008)
Babel (2006) OH LOOK A GOOD MOVIE

Notice a trend? They're all shitty 6,5 imbd movies.

Now, I'm not saying Peter Jackson is the best producer in the world, but you take all his Director awards and he still has more Oscars than those two studios put together.

not to mention he's always stated that a second movie of District 9 would be a prequel, meaning there's plenty of human rights critique to be made with the arrival of the aliens
