Problematic slow-mo gameplay
« on: December 06, 2020, 02:44 PM »
Hi guys!
I just registered here, because i have a problem with my gameplay and want to describe it. I do hope - somebody is able to help me to solve it :(

When i go with my rope it feels like every single movement is practically doing with slow motion. If there is possibility to compare that - motion is like during 'Low Gravity ON'.
There is no rule. I have this trouble in offline and online game (with and without hostingbuddy using).

I used to test most of available graphics options (including resolution, graph engine, vertical sync). Also did compatibility (win xp, 98 etc.), files veryfing on steam platform, deleted all replays from game and finally reinstalled WA. Neither have helped...
I have 100h~ in WA... With the first 70-80h i haven't had this problem but now i totally can't avoid this.
In addiction - some of my mates have this issue too.

Any solution? Thank you in advance for every single respond!

Hello Grzesix,

You mean the game speed is OK but the moment you start roping it feels like slow motion? Do you have an example replay?
Due to massive misunderstandings: MonkeyIsland refers to an island not a monkey. I would be a monkey, if my name was IslandMonkey meaning a monkey who is or lives on an island. MonkeyIsland is an island which is related to monkeys. Also there's been a legend around saying MonkeyIsland is a game. So please, think of me as an island or a game.

I guess game speed is not okey but rope movement is flow so it's easy to assess.

That is normal roping speed.
What you're probably referring to is not slow motion but smooth motion. Before 3.8, the game would render at 50 FPS, which made everything jerky / jumpy. With 3.8, the game will render movements at 60, 120 FPS and more, depending on your monitor's refresh rate. It is much more pleasant to the eye. The effect is purely visual, the actual speed is the same.
Dec 30 2013 23:59:44 <StepS> windowed mode isn't the only thing you need about frontend
Dec 30 2013 23:59:49 <StepS> you need it to be actually bigger
Dec 31 2013 00:00:13 <StepS> it actually is very small on my 15-inch full HD screen
Dec 31 2013 00:00:25 <StepS> while running at 640x480 or stretched mode makes it fuzzy
Dec 31 2013 00:00:44 <StepS> this problem has been around since the Worms Armageddon's release and no one has even tried to beat it
