hey everyone,ive been talking to MI about a BnG private league lately,we think its a good idea if we have enough and active players.if there will be enough players for a Style BnG then we can start a league for it,now the question is who is ready and think there should be a league.tell your opinions and answer the question.

There used to be a2b, a private BnG League. Personally, I would like it if that site was back, I wouldn't prefer it on TUS site.

But is wasn't part of the site, it was just hosted on it and it was in a different folder on the server. I bet Monkey would build that part in the site.
If it was like bng.tus-wa.com with a whole different look and system, that would be cool, with an invite only participation system.

I always liked cl2k's rotated league, an alternating one-scheme league per month, would be cool to have that instead of the miscellaneous-league we have now ???

Indeed, a rotated league would have been awesome! :) I remember my grades at school always were lower then usual whenever the rotated league had roper or rr as the scheme of the month :P HHC, I stayed in Bergen for an extra couple of days this week, but I`m going home tomorrow, let`s do some games the upcoming week and more on!

why not add style bng to classic league? and add no rule bng to classic league too?? but then would we need 3 bng ratings lol?

If so, we could introduce 3 BnG schemes as official and people have an agreement on which they wanna play and report all 3 under 'BnG'.

But this will result in loads more complaints in bng as people won't wanna attempt a new shot after hitting with a previous one. So basically no repeating the same style shot (3sec) untill you hit with new shot (lg 5)
I think the classic rules will get updated and be good enough to deal with 'league-style' bngers that only have 3sec learned in their bng armourary of shots.

im not talking about a rotate league or putting new rules to classic bng,im talking about a bng league with the players who are pro and who likes to play it for itself not because some1 picked it.i agree with ray,its awful having 3 schemes

How would you see the style bng league get started? Do you need to vary your shots as Chicken said? Do you need to bank nades as well as doing non-banking nades?

I don't think that this league is good idea. If u fancy freestyle bng make something like nlF oO Why no one complains about cheap wxw?? JUST STUPID... For me there should be added one rule to bng. U can throw only 2 nades 4s without LG. And it's all. And talks about not repeating shots after score is just idiotics. Understand, create smth like trick race rofl, and let in peace bng, which is good scheme! It just needs forbidding of 4s nades, and unlimited teleportes!

PS: Maciej, you can't compare a cheap gameplay in BnG with one in other schemes.
BnG isn't just a scheme, it's a way of playing: if you just play to earn points, then you'd rather not play it.

Hmm, well i think that a2b's rules was the best way to play BnG, 3kinds of shemes are impossible like roper 20,30 and 40sec, it's like someone says "true lies in the middle" but it's not right, true lies there where the true is.Maybe just make the ab2 site more attractive and famous that's all ??? !!!

The problem is not with TUS itself, the problem is that if this league was added as a nother feature of the site, then it would get even more complex.

Do you remember XTC's Roper League? It was like roper.xtcleague.com or something, it was a whole different design, system... I was thinking about the same, basically hosting this invite-only (or players have to sign up, like into a clan and the leaders decide if he may join the league or not) league on a subdomain like a2b.tus-wa.com or whatever. It would have the same rating system as a2b used to have, same rules.

I hope ur idea works obscure, by me I just play bng when the other clan pick it i don't like the scheme and i don't care about making style shots i just care to hit the other guy with every way i can, but i agree that bng lovers should ahve their league, I prefer HHC's idea tho rotated league would be awesome.

Then whats the point in having a league for it if playing for points is irrelevant?
I dont like the idea of a "private" bng league on tus, it sounds snobby and elitist. If you want a private league then host it on your own site.
Whats the point in having a league on tus for a "select" number of people to play?
Tus should just include a rotated league as has been discussed many times before, alternating through schemes on a monthly or seasonal basis.

Hey guys, Ramone sent me a message. It really wouldn't be much trouble to kick off a2b again - the only reason it went down is because i moved the main clansfx domain off my personal webspace onto the same server as worms2d.info and forgot to move a2b with it :-[. I can easily set it up again.
Reading through this thread though, i see a few things that may need some more time spent on them:
Should i wipe previous members/games and start fresh?
- Half of the people in this thread are already registered
- Can you remember your passwords? (they are encrypted so i can't recover them for you)
- There are almost 30 members and i suspect many are inactive
Does it want to be a private, invite-only league?
- If not, i'll need to create a signup page
- If so, should there be specific admins who can give invites (current setup), or should every member be allowed to invite others?
- If every member can invite, should these invites be restricted (eg x amount per season, or top 3 players each season get a few, etc)
The visual design is pretty basic, Komo just wanted a quick league system that functioned.
- Is anyone that bothered?
- Are any of you decent graphic designers?
- I work best from Photoshop designs so if anyone wants to have a go feel free - I can let you know what needs to be on each page.
Here's whats on the current rules page, do any changes need to be made?
1. No straight bazooka shots.
2. No sitters.
3. No repeat shots.
* If you hit someone for 34 HP or less with a shot, you can't use that same shot again until you have hit them with a different one.
* If you hit someone for 35 HP or more with a shot, you can't use that same shot again until either you or they have moved.
4. No 5 second grenades unless used with low gravity or max bounce
5. All shots should be aimed to explode on impact with the opponents worm.
6. Re-aim the crosshair between every turn, regardless of whether you landed a hit last turn or not.
7. Don't teleport too close to your opponent's worm (try to stay at least half the map away).
8. No notching unless you can't help it (ie, your perfect aim is 1 or 2 taps off vertical).
9. No telecides (teleporting on your opponent when you have low health in order to inflict grave damage on them).
10. No defensive girders, only use girders for bouncing nades.
11. 3 points for a win.
12. 1 point for a loss.
13. Seasons last 2 months.
Some of the rules are quite vague, but the fact you are here is because we trust you to play fairly.
Current content pages, asterisk denotes pages only admins can currently see (can easily be changed):
- Home: This is a page which displays news posts. Each post has subject, content, name of admin, time, and date.
- Rules: See last section.
- Standings: A table of standings for the current season. Contains position, name, games played, wins, losses, win rate %, and points.
- View Games: A search page for viewing reported games. Search by season and date range, displays results as table with date/time, winner, loser, and icon for downloading replay.
- Report Game: A simple form for submitting games played. Choose who you beat from dropdown list, attach replay, and submit.
- *Invite: Contains a form field to enter the email address of the invitee. Sends an invitation email which contains a link with a verification ID for them to sign up with.
- *Group Email: For sending an email to all registered members. Contains a simple form with subject and message.
- *Post News: Looks almost identical to the Group Email page but posts the message as a news item on the Home page instead of emailing.
Let me know what you think, i can afford to spend some time on this but i also have paid work to do so don't expect anything in the way of reliable deadlines. A more complex invite system or visual redesign will take time to do, but everything else i listed can probably be sorted quickly.

because i think if we can choose one lower limit, that can avoid repeat shots better. (for low hits: who wants to repeat a shot, that hits something around, or under 15 HP? and even if they want, the other can move - or shot better.)

I think you've misunderstood this one. It doesn't mean that you need to teleport and lose a turn, it means that (for example) if U hit me with 4 sec nade and took 35 or more HP's from me, U shouldn't hit me again with 4 sec nade until one of us change our spot (means that U can be moved by hit, or with blowtorch...), anyway u have all other shots to use (U don't need to move!)
Anyway, rules are not the problem.. If it's "invite only" league (which should be (in my opinion))... It's just about playing good and fair bng.. (I remember that no one has ever mention anything about rules while we we're playing a2b league..)
So... what do I think:
1.

Yes, start fresh, it's kinda re-opening.. and would be much easier for everyone..

Yes, few admins should choose (with council suggestions ;P) who should be invited.. (this is only the best way to prevent those little devils to destroy all the fun ;))

If i remember, that rule was made to disuade people from hiding in spots with only 1 firing angle. If you place yourself somewhere that gives you a range of different shots it isn't a problem, as you can try a different shot rather than teleporting. If it turns out that you are hitting them for max damage every time regardless of the shot, missing a turn to teleport every 4-5 tiurns isn't going to cause you many problems because you've won the league with those skills :P.

Ho ok, wasn't thinking about this, that's a good rule then.
But anyway, you should make the first part of the 3rd rule around 15HP: because repeating a 15Hp nade damage is still too much (but if it's an invite only league, there wouldn't be such cheapers).
And I agree with Ramone about the "invite only".
PS: When does this #@!&% Komo will come back !? >.<

rules are just fine and as ramone said we never had a problem with them,but i was hoping for a new design,thats why i asked MI to host a league here,but i have no problem with the a2b,its very good to have it back,i agree with a few admins who invite the others.

Ramone & Obscure: I've made you both admins due to the fact i'm not very active, it's up to you two to figure out who to invite and to try and keep the league active. Your logins are the same as before. Obscure; if you can't remember your login details i'll delete your account and send you an invite so you can create a new one.
I've set Season 1 to start at midnight GMT as it's 1st April which is a nice date to start on :D.
I'll have a go at a redesign if no-one else has any ideas, but it may be a week or two before i start.
Looking at the database again reminded me that i did set it up to be able to handle one-off events like tournaments and stuff, but never got around to creating the pages. I can still do this at some point if you want, but only if people will actually use it. If so, it may be worth making the tournaments public and just keeping the league private.

a2b (addicted to bng) - as it says, is a league for all bng addicts and ppl who likes to play good bng :)
It's a private league, hosted and formed by b2b (born to bng) community members.
It's "invite only" based league, so if you wanna have fun with us and compete with all good bng players, send an e-mail to me or to obscure and you'll get your invitation... maybe.. :P

4sec full power nades aren't cheap if there are not repeat again and again. .)
They now look bad cause most of the league players were abusing of it.
But in a great BnG game, it can be very nice !
Btw, Good Job M3ntal for that quick open.
I hope I'll see some god BnG players, to remember old great time. ^^

Yeah, sorry guys, the invite script was still using the old link, i've changed it now so any more invites should contain a working link. Anyone who's got an invite with the non-working link in, alter it so it looks like this:

I got an email from Ramone yesterday so I decided to catch up with this all...
It looks like M3ntal has setup the same settings for me on there anyway.
Just a few things I would like to point out, the whole purpose of a2b originally was like others have said a league for what is in our opinions the best and fairest bng players, hence why the league was invite-only to begin with, under the strict rule that if anyone started breaking any rules and started moaning and complaining, there would be no warnings, they would just be dropped from the league.
It's actually nice to see alot of interest in bringing a2b back, I guess I will be active on WA again if this league picks up, and seeing as I hardly BnG anymore I'm not as good so it'll be more fun for me anyway..
It was before a private invite only league, but i'd like to see that change slightly it would still be invite, but less strict about who joins, I feel now anyone can join as long as they play by the rules and don't take it as serious as other leagues, I think we can all agree to this?

i uploaded 2 replays tonight, both as i if i would have win against Ray. (sry Ray, had no other way, i hope the mods can reset them after..).

I just don't understand why you reported those games at all? You should make sure the player you challenge is part of the league first, since you are kind of new to the community, you don't know everyone, so just make sure next time. ;) Anyway, I gained 2 points! :)

these 2 replays r two different things. first i just hosted a single bng, joined this Blackdog`Ff, starting his gay questions.
after that i saw that Komodo (or imposter..) is in AG, and asked him to a2b, and he started to act the same gay.. i just wanted you to know, that Komo is acting strange and gay, or there is an imposter sob.. :D
