Not sure if it's late to suggest this, and not sure about an ideal model, but I think that TUS should make it easier to people know their time zones, to make it easier to schedule matches. I don't know if that's a good idea, but I would like to suggest this.

For example on a player profile there could be a section with information of the player's city time zone. It could be something short like UTC/GMT -3. Or maybe the actual time in the player's city going live/real time under or above the avatar of the player to be displayed in each post of the player.

Another field that could exist is a field for the player's "available to play" times. In this field, the player can write all the times that he can play during the week, this way he will not need to constantly write or copy from a text file each time someone's ask when can the player play. It's boring to ask people when they can play and it's boring to answer the same answer many times too. So, with the available times to play on each post, it would be much easier to schedule games for cups, 2vs2 Clanners and POs. Many players don't know what the hell is UTC/GMT and they are not used to schedule things to simply play a game. Newcomers would understand this a lot better with the timezones on the posts of all players. If a player change the job or change the period of working time during the week, the player can edit his profile to change this field, updating it with the new times of the week that the player is free to play.

Not sure if this should be a mandatory field, but it should be encouraged to players do this and include the "free to play" times and their timezones on the profile info to display at each post.

I think this would be beneficial to TUS and everybody, but of course that if a player doesn't want to play he can simply write that he doesn't have free time to play at the moment or doesn't want to play at all or leave the field empty. But the empty field should still be displayed on each post of this player, to encourage people to write this information there.

I know that there are privacy issues about the city and the timezones, the free time to play, etc. Not everyone likes to inform the city in which the person lives.

I do think that this would be better. I could start writing my timezone and my free to play times on my profile, but this would only work well if all players had this behavior. It would be so much easier to see when a player can play easily, without making posts on each cup or Discord, or Direct Messages...

What do you think?

EDIT: imagine if TUS could be able to show automatically the times that both players can play together during the week? It would be amazing! So players only need to choose the times in common that TUS informs to schedule the match. It would be quality of life for sure.

Everybody is talking about matchmaking and if it is going to work on such a small pool of players, but nobody talks about schedule making or match scheduler system.

A cup page could have this feature for each group, players would select the time they want to play of the ones the system recognizes as possibilities, and once both players decide by agreement or clicking to the system choose a random or first moment (I think the first would be more logical) of the possible times, it would appear in the cup group that the match was scheduled for xx:xx hours UTC, and also include a link for the streamer that decide to stream the match. Players could be notified when the match was about to happen.

Matchmaking system is good for leagues, for cups it's schedulemaking system.

MonkeyIsland

There's a field on TUS for setting your timezone:
Profile => Look and layout

I'll make a field for available to play anyway but I want to mention that is assuming people have a regulated life.
Due to massive misunderstandings: MonkeyIsland refers to an island not a monkey. I would be a monkey, if my name was IslandMonkey meaning a monkey who is or lives on an island. MonkeyIsland is an island which is related to monkeys. Also there's been a legend around saying MonkeyIsland is a game. So please, think of me as an island or a game.
