Can't say why, but I got the urge to youtube some roping videos to try to remember what I was doing 10-15 years ago, and I ended up stumbling on this site. I'm shocked at how many others seem to have done something similar and ended up here!
Just breezing through some posts I see lots of familiar 'faces,' so I figured I'd register and give a shout out. Hope you all are doing well!
I don't remember exactly when my Worms career started to die down, but it was probably about 8-10 years ago, so I'm way out of the loop. Is there any way to hop on wormnet with a mac?

Oh wow, hey BC. A long, long, long, time ago indeed. I want to say the last time I played with you was 2002. Welcome back, I have a mac as well but not the time to play worms really. Look into this program though, its pretty awesome, I use it to run tuning software for my DSM's ECU:

Hi there BConly. :D
-
Heya fellas -- long time no see! How's everything going?? Just went through the steps to play on a mac (thanks twy) and played my first warmer and rr in a while... very fun to do after so long but quite frustrating too.
-
A wave of oldschoolers popping by to say hello lately, lol... Seems a bit odd :o Nice to see your name again BConly, you can still find Flowingwater on this site for a nice chat of old times sake if you'd like
-
yea, a lot of u.s. guys coming back recently. Wonder when some germans coming back as well. Guys like nakra, bolf, jip, spalding, medal etc.
woulda been nice.
anyway, welcome back sir :)
-
Coming back and coming back.. They're just saying hi and then dissapearing for another ten years :P Only Walrus stayed for a long period of time of the ones who "came back". I've seen BadAss active again, maybe he could get some BkM's back in freez, Rebell, killor, mama. Far more likely anyhow then the names you mentioned xd
-
Yea, thats true, sadly. But at least they say hello. Guess the chances are bigger that their kids playing worms in the future. ;)
-
wow!! BConly!!
yeah, cant remember exactly when you stopped playing.. many many years ago for sure
cant wait to catch a game with you, hope you stick around!!
-
Pardon, BC, but are you a woman? I was thinking you were on the short list of female wormers.
-
Nope, I'm a dude. I've yet to see anybody i know on wnet!
-
Hey BC! Good to see you man, I think it's been about 10 years to be honest hah! It is strange that a lot of people are coming back though..
-
WA is in the air...
Hey BC, hey Var.

Varial, that people section is an openwiki. There is a lot of it written by people individually, ive done about 10 entries for people or so. Go and post info to your hearts content, the more the better.

whatup var! KRD!
Pretty hectic schedule today but might try to hop on wnet later tonight...

Damn, really has been a long time SPeeD aNGeL

ow, didnt know you were in susuii too bconly, i only remember like 2 or 3 members :-[
those were good days eh? we were one of the top clans back then, even going 50-0 one season with DoN's. Seems like ages ago :)

because it WAS ages ago hhc :D
-
Holy shit :o
ahoy BC ;)
-
btw BC, if you came on wnet, and found no one, thats because your coming during shit hours...
you need to figure out prime time...
for me, it anywhere between 2:00pm, and 6:00pm those are usually good hours, i live in Connecticut, so do the math and figure out your hours...
but even still, wnet is not what it used to be.
-
but even still, wnet is not what it used to be.
Even though I haven't run into anybody i know, I'm still surprised at how many people/games there are... when I left in the early 2000s, there was a long period where it was a struggle to find ANYBODY to play with.
Whatup dj!
-
been a while mate, :)
yeah worms is pretty active now, but as avi said theres only about 8 hours a day when the skilled players are online.
We need some more oldschool ropers!! COME BACK BC <3 hehe.
Welcome back sir! hope you stay for a bit :)
-
WN is more active now then when bc left it.. Just think back when you were a kid avi, it was much different then because of your own interception of things. You have to keep that in mind when comparing over such a long timeperiod. But yes, i also miss the times. Of playinng worms when i was a kid, ofcourse. Who wouldn't

Avi is 28, 2004 (I definitely remember you played at that time still) when BC left Avi was 19, so he wasn't a kid with childish memories and since I am the same age I can also recall a "better" time in 2004 than in 2013 especially if you consider that BConly is a roper/warmer like me. Last monday I wanted to have a game before the dentist and I waited 30 minutes spamming someone to host something with roping other than shopper and at the end I joined a random hysteria game (omg I know).. that's something which would have been unbelievable in 2004.
W:A might be more active than 2004, but it is not of better quality (let the smites rain on me! xD). ;D

Agreed, the overall quality of wormers has gone way down. there may be as many wormers but over 80% of them are noobs.(No offense to anyone here)
-
i've noticed that too for the past 2 weeks I've been back. I can spend my whole time on the game asking if someone wants to rope or warm, but people are too busy playing intermediates and such. back in the day it felt like 50% roping, 40% bng/team17/elites and 10% other.. and 100% sitting in AG lol
so far i struggle to see people online too. i am unable to log on during the 2-6pm EST that avi has mentioned.. this can be a problem.
-
I guess those American people coming back are thanks to the Steam release. :) Nice to see that.
-
yeah crazy.... we have to compare apples to apples.
is there a higher level of players these days, and more games being hosted?
maybe.... i wont argue
but is there a higher level of pros playing, and competing in leagues, and practicing their skills? absolutely not.

Quality of ropers has gone way down. Overall skill has gone way up. It's a different game now. If you mean quality as in wormers personalities then yea WAY down. The game is full of retards and pretty much the only oldschoolers left are all the ones that you would have wished never played the game in the first place. Nice to see some of the cooler ones coming back though.

yeah, dub has a sparkling personality ;)
-
Dub, you are a flaming idiot. Someone had to say it. I can only imagine your little speech has been applied inversely. I can't say I blame you though, I'd probably say the same thing if I was a backwards-ass lumberjack from Moosef@#!, Canada.
