That's right, sports fans 8)
It's time to get Showcase back on the road again! Last time, Mablak took the crown after a stunning display of different kinds of weaponry and roping, but the past is no guarantee for repeated success.
Will you take the crown from Mablak?
For those not familiar with Showcase, it's basically a movie tournament; people send in replays of their finest moments. Those are then put in a movie with the music of your choice and then it's up to the community at large to rate your submission :)
The first(http://d1.worms2d.info/link_icon.png) (http://wormtube.worms2d.info/59/showcase) and second(http://d1.worms2d.info/link_icon.png) (http://wormtube.worms2d.info/67/showcase_2) edition should give you an idea of what showcase is :)
If you want to compete, here's what you need to do:
- Find awesome wormy moves. They can be hilarious luck or just incredible skill. All is allowed, as long as they were your own turns.
- The moments are not limited to just one replay; if replay 1 has 4 seconds of awesomeness, replay 2 has 7 seconds of awesomeness, then that means you still have 19 more seconds to fill :)
- Send these replays to mvrooland@gmail.com and make sure that the filenames have a time in them, so we'll know where to start the replay (example: Auto throws awesome petrol [15.40].WAgame )
- Let me know which music you want to play: Mention the artist, the song and at which part (mention the time) your scenes should start
- Please mention the order in which you want your scenes to appear and which effects you want added. Basic effects will be added, but note that the more complex your request is, the higher the chance it won't make the cut.
And that's basically it! We're not setting a deadline for submissions just yet, but don't wait until it's too late or you'll miss out.

So we got 30 seconds each? Does it have to be a mix or can I send in all just BnG? I got some leftovers already extracted and put together with Vdub ready to go straight into the movie from the b2b Vid cuz I had too much lol, I can send you them on MSN if you want?

Your section is going to be 30 seconds, just like from all other contestants (unless they send a bit less). You can send in anything you want :) And if you want, you can send them on msn (I'm going to put them all in the same place anyway), though I still haven't actually downloaded msn, so that might not work ;D

back to the the topic,maybe ur team name contains some "strange characters" (é,ó,ñ,ë and stuff like that)
if it's that then just modify the replay's name.
And no,u don't need to senD any videos.Just the replays,renamed each one with the specific time when the replay has to be opened at.

If you have one replay with 30 seconds on it you want in it, that's fine, if you have 30 replays with 1 second you want on it, that's fine.
Anything in between is fine as well, as long as it's 30 seconds total.

I would recommend sending more than 30 seconds worth of replays. But name the replay so I know exactly when to extract from to get just the action you want. 2 seconds each side is good for me.
It saves me so much time if I can export the footage without opening the replay and checking the time myself.
It also might be hard for you to judge exactly 30 seconds. I edit replays very tightly so there's no room either side. You might misjudge it.
Send more than you think you'll need unless you have a very specific idea of how you want your showcase to look.

Well, we already have 17 participants (18 once Maciej sends his replays and 20 once Cue and I get our shit in order :D), so I wouldn't wait it out ;) We've already been talking about stuff to have in addition to the submissions, so I think it's going to be made very soon.

After I shut down my computer that has the Worm Armageddon replays + the actually game since i've quited Worm Armageddon for good. I tried to turn my computer and I don't know what happen but my computer won't start up. o___O So I don't think I will be sign up for that Showcase 3. ;/

Well I'm game for how people want this to go. I haven't started it yet.
Should we have a few winners who go through to a final vote, where each player gets a minute instead of 30 seconds?
Kinda goes against the ethos of Showcase though.
I created Showcase after looking at all the different pro wormers and how they all have different skills and talents. So the idea was for people to submit replays which showcase their unique skills and abilities as wormers. The voting / competition was really an afterthought.
Now Showcase is a replay contest which is cool because people are being careful to choose high quality replays and this makes for a fine movie ;O
But how can people just pull out new replays for a second round? Some replays a one in a thousand flukes or feats of skill. They don't turn up every day and we shouldn't expect them to.
Needs to be structured differently somehow; or kept the same.

The knockout stage could be some games played. The player then gets to choose moments from those games to use as their knockout showcase?

Keep this as previous content, id say. Winners shouldnt be treaten that seriously, since everyone can vote. Also not neccesarly winner has to be active or that succesfull to pull off new moves for playoff.

Me too. Even though there was luck involved, cows were probably the most fancy move ive ever seen - bonus point for turn around, another for cow explosion in mid-air plopping 2 worms and half point for mine landing on worm. That could be 7.5 stars :perv:

Wow, aside from all the great replays that was a great movie m8 well done!
The intro really made me laugh, the stand up comedy REALLY made me laugh, you got it spot on there! The syncing was well done and the canned audience was a nice touch!
The only thing I dont understand is why the credits appear halfway through the movie and then the 3rd part plays after, was it meant to be like that because its really strange! Is this a mistake?

@Random Yeah KRD's is f@#!ing awesome. So is Dub-C's and Nail's. Many others' too.
Compare the quality of the footage from Showcase 1 to this and the difference is glaring.
I can't wait to see the standard of Showcase 4 if this is anything to go by.

@Nail With so many participants this year, showing more than 10 showcases in a row I felt might induce some boredom. So I split them into two groups of 10 and then a final 9. The credits served as the second distraction.

At "End of part 1" Cutscene with the hotdogs:
Cue says: "Umm no actually seriously, umm we're having a few problems at the moment" I couldn't help but feel guilty, I actually thought that was end of film and Cue was gonna pour his heart and soul out, my heart actually dropped for a second until he said "she says I play too much worms" and I was like "rofl!" again xD

I thought everyones replays were awesome. None of them were bad. Don't think I will even attempt to give ratings, would be to hard. I'd like to give credit to someone who hasn't gotten mentioned yet. Angus, his replays I thought they were great.
Very funny comedy and everything was awesomely put together. I don't laugh much but I actually laughed during the showcase. I hope the zoom doesn't take away from the true speed of some of the roping. Seeing the speed of roping zoomed in makes me want to go back to 640 res

Lacoste's entry is the most skilled and "omg!"-packed, I wonder why nobody mentioned it :p The best moves are not those where you've got superlucky hits, but those which were planned to work exactly as it happened. Imo :)

Obvious to you, or people who regulary play Intermediate, thanks but no thanks lol, using LG and all these mad combinations of weapons isn't my cup of tea lol, it's easy to get cool looking and impressive shots in Intermediate when there are more worms, more time, more weapons etc etc, especially to the untrained eye, and sorry all the Intermediate parts were boring for me... Just like my BnG part probably sent the whole FoS community to sleep lol.

Those are tool assisted replays, only a handful of people got that toy after having proven to be completely trustworthy, like Lex and M3ntal :)

may i jsut say, Kudos to all the people who participated. and Kudos to Cueshark who made the video. that was the best 21minute worms video ive seen. (no i didnt see showcase 1 or two) you're all winers in my eyes. but a specific nade shot right at the beginning owned.
