you got caught with auto aim am i right?
MonkeyIsland, my friend, I know your english is terrible and your understanding of society limited. However, in real life, people attack and humiliate others without the use of a single bad word. They even go to war with lengthy politeness. You can't base the whole moderation philosophy of a community based on the use of bad words and your struggle with sarcasm and irony. My attack to Jonno was fully justified and of proper good taste.

Greetings!  I was hoping to find the old top 100 rankings for W:A; even a screenshot will be fine.  I've looked all over the net and can't find it anywhere.  Thank you!

I started reminiscing of the old days of competitive worms and roping, those were the good days.  I think I was in EiF, Ropin' Raja (?) and maybe DFA but I can't really remember.  I recall playing with MaxDamage, MeNaCeDoG, NRGSpoon, Zippo, Hamster, Jmoberg, Jubei (great maps!), SuperSheep (?), FnB, and losing to the top Brazilian player, I cant remember his name, but I did win once or twice!

I was primarily a standard competitive player and made it to the top 50, I think, before they froze the leaderboards.  I then moved to roping and loved it.  I probably put years into this game and probably over a 1000 hours of game time.  This game was easily in my top 5 all time favorites, even today.

-I sent Deadcode a program I 'wrote' in visual basic which had a hidden freeware component that i downloaded from a website for 'script kiddies'. That free script let you browse a target's hard drive and download things. The visible part that I wrote was a simple form where you click on a gif of a fat kid repeatedly to make him dance. My goal was to steal WA's source code. This was when I had access to various beta builds via the alpha testing group and spoke with DC regularly. DC was too smart to heed my repeated advice to leave the program open (and download winsock dll's), but I am certain he knew (or later discovered) what was up. Good thing I was unsuccessful - probably would have released it and destroyed WA. I never really spoke to DC again after that.
I have no memory of this. I don't remember you sending me any programs, don't remember you asking me repeatedly to keep one open, nor talking about winsock DLLs. I have pretty much always been cautious about such things, though.

Maybe with further details my memory could be jogged. I'd be quite curious to know. Do you remember the approximate date when this happened, and what means you used to send the program to me?

I'm guessing that if you did send me this program, I either ran it under a VM or never got around to running it at all.
A very long time ago on AIM - roughly 2003 or 2004. This was the gif: http://giphy.com/gifs/fat-11pVPEm3W6QS7S. I don't know if you ever opened it, but I definitely sent it. Figured you probably took precautions like that. The script added "|COMPLETE|" to the end of all the files it downloaded. I don't have regular access to my old worms files or I might be able to come up with a more exact date. I don't have the cl2k db anymore.

I found the programs JoE sent me:

Filenamevirustotal detection ratioTimestamp when downloaded
logo_program.exe2004-06-09 17:30:38 -0700
logo.exe2004-06-09 18:43:42 -0700
joeaaaachatV3.exe2004-06-09 20:20:06 -0700
Very nice detective work. You must have a great backup regime. Your post inspired me to go digging through my old computers/hard drives looking for the client program (file explorer/downloader) that goes with those programs. Couldn't find it, but I did find a backup of the AL (Armageddon League) forum database, and an old Coca-Cola commercial supposedly starring Deadcode with an enormous red afro.

AL database: http://www40.zippyshare.com/v/fDUbrvv0/file.html
Deadcode video: http://tinypic.com/r/2rf6n9z/9

PS: Insignificant distinction and doesn't make a difference - of course I was hugely in the wrong - but those weren't viruses. It was a plain old remote file sharing program which didn't do anything malicious - it closed when closed by the user, didn't make copies of itself, alter any other files, or set to run automatically, or anything sneaky whatsoever.

What's the points1-points 5 all about?

Users are not supposed to see all those rankings/points, just the last one (in this case the 5th). Each ranking corresponds to one iteration of the algorithm. Once the ranking reaches a stable state, then you got a good ranking. This usually happens after the 3d iteration, so only the ranking manager needs to see all those rankings to make sure that the ranking is reaching a stable state, and see how many iterations it is taking to stabilize.

So what do all the iterations change? What is happening from the first to the last iteration?

Now I know what's going on, would like to know why and how it's going on.

Also, for example, blitzed, how come his doesn't change? And some change more than others? Is that due to activity?

It is hard and actually not useful to get lost in the details of why someone's ranking changes between iterations. Basically, in the first iteration all players start with the same amount of points, so as a result of the first iteration the players will be ranked mostly according to the number of opponents they've faced and the win ratio against them. Then the second iteration starts with that ranking, and now players can be rewarded according also to who they beat, obviously beating someone from the top will get you more points than beating someone from the bottom, but who was at the top and who was at the bottom at the start of the second iteration depended mostly on their activity and win ratio and not at all on whom they beat, so perhaps the result of this second iteration is not quite reliable yet. On the third iteration you start from a ranking where win ratio matters, activity matters and who you beat matters. And so on, until the ranking is stable.
Momentarily not playing TUS league games.

WSL (Worms Singles League) by Veg & m0nk [2002-2004] - wsleague.com

WSL was a league / tourney site for both WA and WWP. There were some clan games too despite the name.
Looks like there were a lot of technical problems and site was rebuilt a lot of times. There you can see how design changed: 1, 2, 3, 4.
There were atleast 7 seasons in 2003 and 7 seasons in 2004. The numbering was reset to zero after one of the rebuilds. When WormsVille was created there was also WormsVille Clan League (WVCL).

Season 5 playoffs from here:
Spoiler! View
And the Playoffs for season 5 are :

Xen0n vs MrTPenguin

DaMaJa vs Ropa

NightMARE vs Jigsaw

FFoXX vs Almogakby

As i said above the site will be finished today and i will be posting this seasons playoffs in the forums so you can see. For WA, well not many games were played but that was expected. The top 4 were CellBlock

Gabz

Zeteg

Annelid

So playoffs are

Cellblock vs Annelid

Gabz vs Zeteg
