Lupastic:
hmm how come this weird kind of map style came into fashion as elite map? I only saw Free trying to use these to play on.. now Peja too? ;R
it looks like a floating zar roper map with 100% objects

Peja:
They offer more hides than the usual randoms without turning every game into a repetitive bng/sd ending.
That makes those strategies a secondary option and opens up a game that involves more variables.
I really enjoy it.

TheKomodo:
I think these maps are really cool, never saw that style before, I don't think it offers more variables as much as it offers DIFFERENT variables.

Hiding on the bottom at first glance seems like suicide lol, though does open up some potentially awesome water homing missiles.

It's nice to have a larger pool of variety to choose from that doesn't rely on custom terrains.

Sensei:
Is this inverted cave map? I used to host Aerials with these at one point. That trend lasted a month or so. Some drawing was needed to open them up a bit, cause scheme requires it. Games were quite fun and tactic based. Good stuff

Free:
Just shave little bit off top so top can be filled with objects also and these maps are very versatile compared to your standard elite map.

A good elite map has lots of options for darksiding also, if a map is too simple, starting player has too big of an advantage. Assuming the player is good.

I use the cave map template from bottom left and then invert it by the invert tool. Takes some eye and skill to learn which kind of maps will work well as inverted. Then just shave little bit off top so long objects fit on top aswell, randomize until looks balanced and your done.
