Description:
Hello!

Welcome to

Map information & general Rules:

The general idea of this map was to have multiple starts and multiple targets that intersect with each other for a new kind of Darts experience, and it turned out even better than expected, woohoo!

Variants:

You will notice the map has 5 START platforms numbered "#1" "#2" "#3" "#4" "#5" and 5 target platforms numbered "#1" "#2" "#3" "#4" "#5".

Before a game begins, players will pick where they start and which target they are aiming at, this is called a "variant".

There are a total of 18 variants, ranging from easy to expert in difficulty.

Yoshi:

Yoshi is your friend! Wherever there is a Yoshi on a START platform, teleport your worm as if you are placing it inside Yoshi, this way it forces perfect worm placement so all you have to do is aim straight up and you will connect your rope to the pixel above without having to move left or right first, it saves time!

Skims:

Skims are allowed when the worm is travelling upwards in motion, for example when throwing #4 - #4 the worm sometimes skims off the top of the yellow blocks.

Skims are not allowed once the worm is falling and travelling downwards in motion, for example when throwing from #2 - #2 the worm might bounce on target #4 then land on target #2, these turns will be void and score 0 points.

Variants & their unique rules:

#1 - #1 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, bounce your worm off the diagonal hill to the right side of the apple tree, throw your worm towards the wall so it bounces off it then travels back over the pixel and towards target #1.

#1 - #4 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, bounce your worm only on the apple tree or the letter "S" and arch your worm up to target #4.

#2 - #2 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, throw your worm to the left side against the green blocks so the worm banks over the pixel and towards target #2. No bounces allowed when throwing your worm - throw your worm swinging only from the pixel.

#2 - #4 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, throw your worm against the lower wall to the left side of the #4 START area so the worm then falls down to target #4. No bounces allowed when throwing your worm - throw your worm swinging only from the pixel.

#2 - #5 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, throw your worm towards target #5. No bounces allowed when throwing your worm - throw your worm swinging only from the pixel.

#3 - #1 / Place your worms on START, attach the rope to the red block, bounce only on the green blocks, throw your worm against the floating blocks to the right so that the worm transfers down towards target #1.

#3 - #2 / Place your worms on START, attach the rope to the red block, swing rope up and over to the other side, then swing and bounce off the green blocks and arch your worm from here towards target #2.

#3 - #3 / Place your worms on START, attach the rope to the red block, bounce only on the green blocks, throw your worm towards target #3.

#3 - #4 / Place your worms on START, attach the rope to the red block, bounce only on the green blocks, throw your worm against the lower wall to the left side of the #4 START area so the worm then falls down to the #4 target area.

#3 - #5 / Place your worms on START, attach the rope to the red block, bounce only on the green blocks, throw your worm towards target #5.

#4 - #1 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, throw your worm inbetween the 2 vertical rows of yellow blocks, so that the worm then travels underneath the floating yellow blocks towards target #1. No bounces allowed when throwing your worm - throw your worm swinging only from the pixel.

#4 - #2 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, throw your worm inbetween the 2 vertical rows of yellow blocks, so that the worm bounces off the floating yellow blocks then falls down towards target #2. No bounces allowed when throwing your worm - throw your worm swinging only from the pixel.

#4 - #3 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, throw your worm inbetween the 2 vertical rows of yellow blocks, so that the worm then banks off the floating yellow blocks towards target #3. No bounces allowed when throwing your worm - throw your worm swinging only from the pixel.

#4 - #4 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, throw your worm so it double banks off the 2 vertical rows of yellow blocks and falls towards target #4. No bounces allowed when throwing your worm - throw your worm swinging only from the pixel.

#5 - #1 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, swoosh your worm down to target #1. No bounces allowed when throwing your worm - throw your worm swinging only from the pixel.

#5 - #2 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, throw your worm over the green blocks towards target #2. No bounces allowed when throwing your worm - throw your worm swinging only from the pixel.

#5 - #4 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach your rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, arch your worm over green blocks towards target #4. No bounces allowed when throwing your worm - throw your worm swinging only from the pixel.

#5 - #5 / Place your worms on Yoshi, attach the rope to the pixel directly above Yoshi, throw your worm over the green blocks towards target #5. No bounces allowed when throwing your worm - throw your worm swinging only from the pixel.

Enjoy!

Good job Komo :)
Due to massive misunderstandings: MonkeyIsland refers to an island not a monkey. I would be a monkey, if my name was IslandMonkey meaning a monkey who is or lives on an island. MonkeyIsland is an island which is related to monkeys. Also there's been a legend around saying MonkeyIsland is a game. So please, think of me as an island or a game.

Cool map.
But I'm very disappointed that all of your maps I've played so far include an extreme waste of the palette. There are lots of completely unneeded palette entries, and sometimes the background is borked due to that, missing the flying particles, and the background gradient looks really bad. There's no reason why the maps you make would themselves look any better with more than 64 colors in the palette (take "Where's Wally" as an example: 110 colors in that? Really? That'd even fit 16!). Keep in mind that all of the original levels and coloured IMG maps from Team17 used no more than 65 colors (64 + black); the possibility to have more than 65 colors in a map is a last-resort implemented by Deadcode, not something that you should always use when making maps regularly.
I had the exact same problem in the past when making some maps, in fact even worse. I've later understood how wrong I was. In fact, I may start reuploading my old maps to always use 65 colors or less, to finally fix all these maps people play frequently in HB.
You may be saying "Who plays with coloured background?" and even if that's true for a particular percent of wormers, you can't deny the fact that the issue is still there and will always remain there as long as it remains to be ignored - and don't forget about schemes with destructible maps and think of the newcomers as well.
If you don't know what nasty effects the higher amounts of colors have, see this page.
Hopefully you'll consider this.

Well, I can't disagree with anything you said StepS, i've played WA since June 1999 and this is the 1st time i've ever heard about this lol.

It really seems like way too much work for too little reward to get that TINY improvement.

If it was a career, or more than a handful of people cared about my work doing maps, I would really consider it.

I am passionate about WA and Darts, but I am passionate about many other things in life too and just don't have the time unfortunately.

It's honestly not worth it for a few people who probably won't even notice it...

If I ever figure out an easy & fast way to do this, i'll sure do it!

Thanks for the feedback StepS!

Yeah, don't worry about it, it's mostly just a note for the future maps, it's fine if you don't want to fix the old maps yourself. Just helping to prevent such things in the future, and you know it's best to be aware as soon as possible. It's been some time since I first noticed that, but somehow I didn't have the motivation to tell you about this until now. The maps are still great, of course. Great job! ;D
