In what world a premade map in elite where you have to use your brain could make so much a difference that it makes you win ? If so give me one example. Some people (including me) are what you call bad map maker (which is highly discutable when there shouldn't be "good" or 'bad' map in elite) and someone is doing a map pack on what it is the nowdays "normal elite" map pattern. What is the problem ? If there are 2k "good" elite map, do you think there will be someone to map abuse or to remember all the map pattern. Even if there was such a case, how does it matters when barrel an mine are random ?
Although, I agree that the diversity on maps make elite enjoyable. It is not a valid argument when 90% of elite map has the same pattern and if you have 2K elite map you wouldn't remember all of them.

Sure knowing the map doesn't mean the player that already played on it has much bigger chance of winning. It's more about being fair towards the oponnent. Besides, most people agree that Chelsea and his shoppa map whoring is not right and it's against fairness. It's simply lame. Using premade elite maps is even more lame since all you have to do is to click a few times in the map editor, then add few more clicks for reseeding the objects if you want and you've got a decent elite map. That doesn't cost much time.

Where did you got that part where you say we call people's maps bad or good? That's ridicilous, I, personally, can play on any map, edited, not edited, whatever, ea doesn't tell you which map is good or bad, because like you said, it's all subjective. Our members should be able to play on any map without arguing whether it fits their taste or not.

It's not a necessity in ea to have same opinion about premade maps but it is a big negative factor for me since I treat it as lameness. That's all.

van:
There's a downside to some of the overly edited maps though! If you can walk from one side to another without using any ropes/chutes then obviously something is wrong. Tele placement doesn't matter as much anymore and forcing your opponent to rope in early game isn't crucial either. It diminishes a part of strategy, that results in forcing games to look almost exactly alike, throwing lucky nades on a map where they're bound to bounce one way or another.

Personally I have no idea what happened to elite in the past few years, it used to be either 100% random or lightly edited ones that gave an equal amount of hides on both sides. Not these 10-hides-on-each-side ugly ones. What bother me is that some of the maps I host get called by newcomers not fit for elite. It's gotten to the point it's ridiculous. (Here are few of mine https://www.tus-wa.com/profile/van/maps-choices/ )

Of course I'm also able to play on both kinds of maps but I do not enjoy it as much. That's a definitive NO to presaved maps on my part. It's lame and unnecessary.

I don't mean to flame you here Turko, but premade maps for a scheme which is supposedly played on random maps are just retarded.

1-Elite in random maps in my opinion is like hysteria... fome and useless, if u use this map in a elite you can go from left to right with 1 rope... it has no strategy.

2-I never use premade maps, i just upload the maps that i create before playing.
