Wormkit Modules / Re: wkKick38

usage: /kick nickname

I kinda preferred the way KawooshKick worked where you typed /kick 1 for the first player in the list. Some players may have annoyingly long usernames to have to type over or even have characters not readily available on some keyboards.

Announcements / Re: Worms Armageddon 3.8.0 changelog sneak peek

I don't even care about a big 3.8 release per se... just release incremental updates, like a 3.7.xxx whatever. Add little fixes and features whenever they are ready. There's no need to stockpile it all and make a huge update

Sorry but that's a bad idea IMO, it would divide the community into different WA versions because this would basically make it impossible for developers to keep their modules up-to-date with every little WA update. Lots of people play RubberWorm games and others also still play PX games, this is already a big mess with PX being stuck with 3.6.31.0, Rubberworm at 3.7.2.1 while the Steam version being on 3.7.2.2 and using RubberWorm with people on different WA versions in some cases drop from the game. I am using these 2 modules as examples but there are many other WK modules that are WA version dependent.

ps: I'm curious does OpenGL renderer mean 24-bit maps can be used in 3.8 or does that have nothing to do with it?

Have to be honest I'm surprised by what I'm reading, I had pretty much given up hope for further WA development. Good to see I was wrong!

The WA community used to be thriving, WormNet used to be riddled with players. I played PX games pretty much exclusively since it came out but with few players on, and only a very small percentage of those having PX, I just kind of stopped trying I guess.

I have no doubt though that someone will develop something awesome for WA some day and get people interested again.

General discussion / Re: Is there "Spartan Kick" for WA px ?

Oh I'm sorry Cyber, I posted here about the problem a while ago and figured nobody cared, guess I didn't think of contacting you directly. Thanks so much for looking at it, it seems to be fixed now!

The PX forum is dead because it's been bugged as f@#! for months now, can't post messages and unfortunately nobody seems to give a flying f@#! about fixing it.

(ps: people found out a workaround that makes it possible to post, you need to select the "Do not automatically parse URLs" checkbox before posting)

Tech Support / PX forums bugged
« on: November 02, 2016, 02:49 PM »
Not sure where else I should report this, but I believe Cybershadow is server admin to all the sites under the worms2d.info domain so I guess I'll post it here. The PX forum has been busted for a month now (I believe after a server update or something), it's impossible to post on the forum, trying to make a post shows following PHP error:

Code: [Select]

[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/includes/functions_content.php on line 696: preg_replace(): The /e modifier is no longer supported, use preg_replace_callback instead

Hopefully someone (Cybershadow?) can fix this so we are able to use the forum again.

General discussion / Re: What resolution do you use?
« on: July 02, 2016, 11:18 AM »
.1 - What do you use and why?
1920x1080 because that's the native resolution of the monitor and that really is the only way to go. I got a monitor large enough (27") to not have to squint to see the worms (yes I bought my monitor with worms in mind).

.2 - And what screen do you have?
I have a dual setup Samsung S27B750 and Samsung T27B750.

.3 - Do you change res based on the scheme you play?
wot? na

.4 - Do you think size of the screen influences your resolution?
See above.

I just ordered a 55" 4k tv so maybe I'll use that to play WA.  :D

Nice as a concept, but really only becomes useful when it's usable online.

Schemes / Golf (Project-X)
« on: June 11, 2016, 03:49 PM »
Since I just finished my map for the PX Golf scheme I thought I'd get people's attention to this amazeballs scheme and set you guys up with everything needed to play this.

Short gameplay video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fa1TybXc8yM

The Map: http://wmdb.org/30395

PX Libs & Scheme: http://worms.am/golf (download Scheme pack)

It was an almost monumental task to make this map, design a course, test, edit the soil types in the map editor, tweak things, change things, test again, tweak again... Do that 9 times over, and you have half a golf course. :)
