Most likely C/C++ for Worms 2 / W:A.

I follow CyberShadow on GitHub and found his ArmageddonEngine library that "was initially intended to be the open-source part of an ambitious D rewrite of the 1999 video game "Worms Armageddon". And you know what? The D language is inspired by C/C++ for the most part!

As for the scripting language that might have been used for gameplay programming,  for some reason I'm thinking about Lua language.

Ye - that's what I thought (and did for the "following on GitHub"-part) =)

I'll mark Thread as "solved", because ye C++ is most likely the answer.
It'd still be nice to know for absolute sure, so feel free to answer CS and DC (;

Thx for reply - after realizing, worms2+ probably weren't made with BlitzBasic, I thought that, too.

Any1 knows for sure (and willing/allowed/… to tell)? Maybe even CyberShadow or Deadcode?

…also I'd love to know any more info on worms-physics-model…
Is there any open info beyond http://worms2d.info/User:Etho/Physics_Engine ? Especially anything on roping?

Can any one tell me, which programming language was used to implement the core components of the game?

…always thought it would be "BlitzBasic", which was used for worms1-dc - it got stuck in my head somehow for worms2+, too - but might be different one ^^

Now I'd love to see other WKs beeing made to "minimize" W:A's graphics further:
-no bubbles
-no background on destroyed soil for smaller explosions, too (without messing with colorlimitations of map to achieve it)
-"burned" soil solid grey (or adjustable - dito no messing with color limitation)
-...

I'd even love to see W:A that minmal - even no sprites, just boundingboxes and/or plain

*) of cource for casual play only ;)

Any reason it should be considered as cheat? Except little help in roper games where you actually can see what weapon is selected? I never do ropers, but when i do - at least 1 selff@#! per game is guaranteed, cause wave is trolling.

Well, as you aren't able to check if your TUS-game opponent uses a particular WK, problem remains, that you are dependant on the honesty of TUS-players – and dishonest players get advantage… kinda stinks ^^

Even if someONE (or few) could check – most players can't ("elite" stuff again…). Sure, if there is someONE who can check it and you know that person, you could let that person know. But first you'd have to be suspicious and most cheats aren't even distinguishable from skill or luck. So most games with cheaters will never get checked.

Now, that this is public, Steps, can you make the wkAwesome public even though you "did not properly set up compatibility" – maybe without the wavespart? You could add some "just for testing at own risc"-note…

Also i want to mention I'm not sure, banning stuff like it from public is a good way at all – who has access then? In case of wkAwesome anyone who visited forum before move to "elite"-forum. IMO could lead to a "cheater elite" – same i.e. for TAS-version, I find its exclusiveness to be unfair in a way…

This question keeps getting asked, but since the original T17 thread is buried, I'll repeat the answer: it's because Deadcode bought Worms Armageddon.

How much would Worms2 cost? I'd love to own it ^^

If it's really "for sale"… maybe crowd funding would be a real option?

I think I might be just a bit thin-skinned atm, because I’m finishing my graduation work – and am overly dissapointed, when the few games I play now don't relax me like I'd like ^^
…also I got sinusitis -> even more thin skin…

So… never mind me moaning. I'll be back when I finished my work, and maybe just play more league-games. Also I'm at a quiet place with no access to port settings – when I'm back home I'll be able to host by myself and get KawooshKick back – and will again be free of the worst idiots ;)

Has something changed in wormnet? 95% of the games noone seems to even say "hf". I consider this very basic courtesy. Often first message on chat is "fck" or worse.

This makes me feel uncomfortable, which causes me failing (more than the usual ^^), which leads to me not having fun… And as I play just for fun, seems my reason for playing worms is gone.

Maybe I should stop playing worms for a while, but I'm afraid that wormnet even became a more rude place, when I return…  :(
