Off Topic / Re: Tattoos and piercings
« on: March 23, 2019, 01:54 PM »
I follow Chris Stuckmann on youtube, and he does movie reviews. Recently he got a brand new tattoo on his entire right arm. My Immediate reaction to myself was ''Is his arm infected by a skin disease? Is it going to fall off?'' It just looked so fragile & damaged. So I look back at his older videos, and I see his normal arm, free from disease & infection. I still have this reaction and opinion. Does this make the guy an idiot & a loser? I don't think so. I think it looks bad and it will never go away unless if you commit to surgery. Even surgery will leave scars, scars of regret.

Tattoos are just OK, I would advice against it, & I could never imagine having a tattoo. But I can understand why some choose to get it, and the reasoning behind it. Perhaps a reason to commit to a tattoo is to increase self-worth, an extension of their psyche & representation. Though, we are falling deep into the gray zone of things.

Couldn't agree more skunk. Collectivism and progressivism are a plague to humanity. The solution is individualism and conservatism.

Same, I couldn't put it better myself. It feels like skunk's text was dragged from my subconscious mind.

At this rate, humanity is heading to a dystopia cyberpunk future. Sci-fi turns to reality, it is actually frightening thought.

I just hope there won't be a super villain who will eradicate mankind to ''save'' it.

But I guess there will be ''freedom fighters'' in the future, and they will likely be tagged as terrorists. You already see this online, if you speak your mind like say Skunk here have, you are quick to be labeled as a bot, bigotry, sexist, racist and so on.

One solution would be to install Virtualbox.
https://www.virtualbox.org

Virtualbox is a virtualization software, that allows you to install an Operating System in the program. Virtualbox supports many OS, Windows 3.1, 95, 98, 2000, XP and many many more, including Linux and & Mac.

You need an ISO or CD and simply load it in the virtual machine and install. Then proceed to install your desired game of choice inthe virtual environment.

General discussion / Re: Why ANO was banned?
« on: March 17, 2019, 09:08 PM »
The entity ANO was always to my experience & observation easily angered and hostile to its peers and surroundings. But what is there to expect from a sentient anus. Where excrement pours through the anus's opening. It can be possible be sympathized with such existence, then again, all entities adapts to its function. Though the waste that drops can be seen as nourishment and substance for some, usually insects that thrives on pure shit.  In my case, I choose distance & caution.

Statistically, no, the world is not getting worse. Extreme poverty, child labour, legal slavery are all going down, and the economy is growing faster than ever (not counting Europe).

What concerns me, however, is that humans are becoming less independent. We aren't embracing individualism anymore, or at least not on the level we should. We are letting the collective and the government keep us safe and make more decisions for us. This is dangerous, because it leads to us losing our ability to think for ourselves and handle difficult situations. It makes humans easier to control, both by government institutions and large corporations. Google wouldn't be the largest internet corporation if users were aware of their spionage, filter bubbles etc. and if they'd known how to avoid it (using alternatives such as Firefox, Opera, Duckduckgo etc.).

It's self-perpetuating problem because as we become worse at thinking critically, we become less skeptical to institutions and corporations, further letting them increase their influence on us.

Oh, and then there's also the fact that debate culture is constantly getting worse and focusing more on feelings than rational arguments like the other guys mentioned, preventing discussion of real issues such as this reach the light of day.

So in other words, people as individuals will get less choice, or choices that are equal. So to lose individuality is actually a bad thing, and could be categorize as worse. Slavery IS worse, but stripping away choice and freedom replaces it. Though, if all human turns into mindless drones, it is only for Government's control, in other words, slavery in a blissful world.

Interesting video to look into

We're all biological programmed to be selfish, so there's nothing wrong with it.

I couldn't possibly disagree with that more if I tried!

We are not biologically programmed to be selfish, we are taught to be selfish, and racist, and bigots, etc...

Kids naturally share with each other, and play and laugh with each other, they are full of curiosity, then as they grow it's the experiences that develop their minds and personalities, they copy things they see adults do and what they see on TV and their surrounding enviroment, and unfortunately what they see mostly turns them from innocent, caring, sharing, creative beings, into selfish, ignorant, racist, sexist etc. I am not saying everyone has their mind polluted, but most people unfortunately do.

Yes, this is normal process of humans. We observe, copy, mimic, & innovate. Some of these processes can be seen as selfish. Act of doing good; Look at Jesus what he did, or other people that commits to good deeds. do you think it is all for pure goodness of their heart? Perhaps it is good, but something is to be gained unwillingly or not, the feeling of doing something good. Now It sounds like I'm talking it circles, but I do hope I make sense to some degree.

If little boy sees mother do something good, boy wants to try that too, because the child recognize a good act passed down by mother and her approval.  Because of this, the child will remember, and use this good deed in the future for reward of feelings and whatnot.

it doesn't hurt to challenge an intellectual conversation here as well.

Unfortunately, there are only a handful of people actually capable of debating these things in a civilized and intellectual manner, and I don't mean just on these forums.

The rest don't care, or don't have the ability to even begin to comprehend these things in todays society.

I can see their point about going to reddit, because why would you even want to initiate this kind of conversation in a community where people harass you for writing walls of text or saying anything meaningful about the human race.

What Adnan said, is pretty much how I view most gamers/younger generation these days, I know they aren't all like that, but most of them are, and if you challenge them, well, you saw what happens when you challenge people on their views and beliefs, examples of my engagements in the past on these forums prove that.

As soon as people feel like they are backed into a corner and can't change your mind, and can no longer provide any research/theory/facts/etc into the debate, they change the focus of the arguement/subject towards your character/personality/integrity.

Personally, the state of the world and the behaviour of humans in general is a topic I constantly find myself debating and talking about with people I know in person.

I feel like it's impossible to have these conversations with random strangers on a gaming forum in a civilized manner, especially when you are as opinionated as myself, most people just can't handle it.

Wow, I couldn't even agree even more. From my point of view, we're just on another level compared to other intellects, that doesn't have the capacity to engaged in a fruitful and expansive discussion. Therefore they choose the savage way, like a predator. But it is not their fault, it is just how they are built.

I admit I made the mistake of challenging the intelligence of this forum, while I do see that there are people here that are competent enough for mature discussion. But it's not enough.

Also, Komodo's whole point about people lacking intellect and interest in serious debate, is a fine example on the world is getting worse. Give it a couple of decades or centuries, our future offspring will be living the 2006 movie Idiocracy.
Then again, no one here is forcing people here to partake in any debate, in time they will hopefully evolve, though I could be mistaken.

Teacher gets paid to teach, but this is a video game, you shouldn't get paid to show some form of decency to other humans. Sure, there times where I neglect and throw people away because their lack of linguistic skills, and some are just plain rude and don't give a shit. So in that regard, the reward of teaching is none, but sometime the payback is good, only if there is a recurring player who comes and enjoys your company and games. Which I experience in my Zar games.

I do agree a little bit with Komodo on Skunk leaning more to the elitist block. All starts from bottom and build themselves up, unlike Justin Bieber.

Most people think of the word ''selfish'' as a bad thing, but maybe it doesn't have to be a negative thing? We're all biological programmed to be selfish, so there's nothing wrong with it. We all gain something from one another by acting on our own intention. So in the end whatever you did can be defined as selfish, but it is the feeling you received from doing it that counts.

I agree with TheMadCharles. You'll find better answers on reddit.

If people keep referring other people to external websites to make topics, then there isn't any point of this forum. It is also true you will find better answers in particular topics elsewhere, but it doesn't hurt to challenge an intellectual conversation here as well.

What's getting worse is the ability of governments to spy on and control citizens of their (and not only their!) countries, enhancing with terrific speed as technologies do. Orwellian world is just around the corner.

This is exactly what I'm talking about when in comes to China, total control. I believe that they're trying to monitor human emotion & perhaps control it by having their citizen wearing caps.

Communism is extremely dangerous, it have never fully worked in the past. Communist parties are slowly rising here in Norway again, kind of scary tbh.

what is getting worse is how many threads like these you make... just go to reddit if you want to ask questions like these
Charles, if you don't have anything useful to contribute to the topic, but just to follow & critique me. Then find yourself elsewhere, or take it up with the moderators. Last time I checked, TMC is not voice of this community, so there is no need to police around.

I sometime make topics like these, to harness an interesting debate about deep provoking topics. Freedom of speech for example. Your post is basically telling me to go somewhere else, because it seems like it is not welcomed here. You might have exhibited yourself in such manner by going after me because of validation by others. To be accepted as one of them. If you look to China and their social credit system, it is an alarming development, where citizens have to work and prove their worth for the Government's narrative vision of an equilibrium society. So for example, if you are low working class, or done something bad, or committed a petty crime, you will not be permitted to partake in certain restaurants, social activity like a concert, or be able to take the public transportation. See where I am going with this? So if you say to someone, don't post that here ''WE'' do not approve of it. It is like pulling the plug for the freedom of speech. This is a worms site too, where everyone should be allowed to post what they want within reason of course. I believe my topics are within ''reason''.

So yeah, the world is getting worse, the narrative of the left wing media, to control all citizen to fit their agenda, the global myth propaganda, and so on.

Oh, sorry, wall of text? Please don't hate on me & make the world worse, beautiful people.  :D

When I ask the question ''Do you think that the world is getting worse?'' it can mean anything from evolution of man, the choices we make, social unrest, politics, religion, war & climate change.

From your standpoint, where you are in the world, and the intelligence you have at your disposal, what is your thoughts?

Not too many that play often. Every time I've logged into W:A lately it's been totally dead, aside from maybe a handful of random noobs and idle snoopers.

Again, these ''random'' can surprise you with their intellect, & can evolve.
I can mention a couple of ''unfamiliar'' names here. But they don't matter to you, because they have not compete in league, or are from the old generation.

Regardless, there are still people around like Walrus & Saltyk, that's about it.
I did however encounter franz aka flowingwater 2 years ago. We had a lengthy warmer.

Announcements / Re: Worms Armageddon 3.8.0 changelog sneak peek
« on: March 02, 2019, 07:05 AM »
So when is the patch coming out? It's now the first of March. I mainly want to know because every time I try logging into WormNET lately it's totally dead... nothing but idlers on snoopers and maybe a couple of random nobodies here and there, but a lot of the time there is literally nobody (present) in #AG. I'd like to start playing some W:A again but without activity I don't feel like wasting my time. Please don't misunderstand this as me feeling entitled to anything, because that's not it at all.

I continuously receive activity through my Zar games. From both new and established players, both are frequent and recurring players of my games. So no, WA is clearly not dead at all. Though I do admit, there are times where I have to wait more than five minutes. Then again, it all depends on time of the day.

Off Topic / Re: What are your thoughts on euthanasia & suicide?
« on: February 27, 2019, 07:32 PM »
but what do I know..
Exactly, not much ^^

The nature of this topic is to bring forth an intellectual discussion, not the other way around; Where people call out people for their own narrative and insinuate based on it. Anyways, wealthy and rich countries are more susceptible to suicide compared to a poor & political unstable country. Normally people that commits suicide doesn't share their desire to end their life. People that share their wish to die, is a call for attention, a longing for help. Sure, there are those that takes advantage of this, which is wrong but they're also sick too. Again, in my previous post I voiced that there many reasons why people want to die, isolation, rejection, and loneliness. In today society people can get very lonely due to rank and position in their respective society.

Based on what I have read here, it seems that suicide and assisted death is a tabu to talk about. Ergo people feel uncomfortable to talk about it, instead they shun it off and laugh at it. While in fact, it is a serious thing.

We once had such a thread on worms.org.ua forums. The forums were blocked for a year in Russia and nobody knew why.
Wow that's really odd. Do you have any ideas & theory as to why  the forums were blocked for a year in Russia?

« on: February 26, 2019, 09:43 PM »
As I've seen, there's some fragile and confused ppl around this community. Guys already interventeed and helped them to turn the page and think bright about life.

Last thing anyone needs is some vegetable lover and his socially way too awkward friend giving ppl reasons why they should commit suicide.

Just by putting euthanasia and suicide in same sentence shows how ignorant you are.

I beg to differ Sensei. I wanted a fruitful and mature discussion. These are serious things mate, and not to be 'censored''. If entities of evil intent want to bring down someone, they are not for this thread, and perhaps should be banned if they are too commit malevolent act regardless of their origin and their place of sin.

I gave my opinion in a mature and responsible way. If someone is vulnerable for such topic, they are not to engage imo. Instead, they should seek out people, I wanted an intellect conversation about life, death and appreciation what is here for us to have. Sensei, censorship is not key for evolution.
