Off Topic / Re: Desktop or Laptop?
« on: August 01, 2021, 10:08 PM »
There is very little purpose is owning a laptop these days unless you are a student or have a job that requires it, or are into a handful of hobbies where having a laptop could be useful, like photography, video, or maybe having LAN parties with your friends. The modern smart phone can do all of the basic functions of a laptop PC and is way less of a hassle. Also, desktop PCs are far easier to fix and upgrade and have less overheating issues.
And yet you have Invested thousands of dollars in your own laptop.

But yeah I pretty much agree with the point you made.

I’m all for alias clans but this is just confusing

Also, come back?  Was this a thing before 2 days ago?

How can one come back if one has never left
Why are you for alias clans? And what are the benefits of alias clans?

Schemes / Max crate count in Roper
« on: July 30, 2021, 05:35 PM »
Hi

In ZaR maximum crate count on map at once is set to 2.

Could this be good idea for Roper?

Why choose this though? To avoid crate hording.

This is very pretty good job.

Would it be possible to do Band Land as well? Given if you have time etc.

I think we need a clarification between nepotism and cronyism, and everyone else.

Can I make a new account and compete against others?

''Ahahaha yeah it was fun! Sorry to have deceived everyone but now I am done ciao''.

So these people deceived and trolled the community by alias and masquerading as a legit clan. But not only that, there may be a accomplice or/and person(s) that may know of their Identity. Well, I would like to know if these sort of things are allowed or not? And if the clan games against TBB still are legit?

These bad boys are real and they sure can rope! (No sarcasm, they are excellent at TTRR).

General discussion / Re: WA Update & ProjectX Question
« on: July 28, 2021, 07:15 AM »
Here is an potential Interesting question: To my knowledge Project X was made by one or two person in mere months or a year total, and the entirety of the source code was not accessed. While 3.8 took close to a decade to make, but feature wise pale in comparison to ProjectX. Why is this?

ProjectX = Short amount of time = Lot of features = Not full access to WA source code.
WA Update = Decades = Not so many feature = Full WA source code access.

I am no developer, publisher, and so on. I am just curios on the train of thought, and process of things.

Thanks for replies.
features ≠ bugfixes

You have introduced a flawed comparison.  ProjectX makes WA more unstable than original static version, official WA update makes the game more stable than static version.  WA update wasn't aimed at creating new content, ProjectX was exclusively aimed at creating new content, don't know why you could/would compare the two.
To be honest it is not that flawed comparison of the two, and here is why. ProjectX was most likely abandoned at early stage due to real life priorities and therefore left a lot of bugs and instability. While at the other hand WA updates were never abandoned.

If WA updates never aimed in creating new content, then why are there rumbles that there may be real time in 4.0 and other ''new'' contents? (Not counting features). WA is after all in definition a turn based strategy game not a real time strategy game.

Also, I would like to be clear I have never tried ProjectX because I have always been faithful to the main updates. Yet, what I have heard is that both features and content in ProjectX are simply revolutionary, and perhaps something may make it to future updates in Worms Armageddon (Pure conjecture).

All developers on this game are volunteers. All the improvements you see are done in their free time. Comparing their work is like comparing their personal life and how they manage to dedicate some free time to work on the game.
Ah.... That's a good point I never thought of it in that way. I just hope that I didn't rattle some cages, I was just curious and because of that I got what I was looking for.

Thank you.

What are you most comfortable with? Desktop or laptop? (Not counting tablets, Smartphones, Nintendo Switch etc).

For me I prefer the stationary solution because I feel more comfortable with it.

What about you?

General discussion / Ban by IP?
« on: July 26, 2021, 10:47 AM »
Hi... So I was thinking maybe it could be a good idea to have a wormkit module/game option to ban those that joins your game by IP?

For example when you click on player name an option window would pop up offering two option: Kick or Ban.
If player chooses to ban one user, then that user won't be able to join that host again, it would only stall in the channel.

At times I can experience harrassement and continuously rejoin in my host rooms. That is why I ask.

Any thoughts on this idea?

Thanks.
