Also that software by solemnwarning has not been updated. Not sure if it works with v3.8.1
It actually has been. There was a commit made in 2015 that added support for v3.8 features way before 3.8's public release. It does also support the max export speed feature.
Tester798 made a fork that focuses on MP4 export, which is the one you probably want to use.

Announcements / Re: WormNET Service Updates
« on: April 04, 2021, 12:22 AM »
HostingBuddy schemes have been updated once again!

Changes:
  • Boom Race: fixed the issue where you could not push yourself with petrol
  • Jetpack Race: Fixed incorrect fuel/retreat settings
  • Kaos Normal: changed from 7 to 10 base craterate for faster casual play (as seen in most Kaos variations posted online), and tweaked crate type probabilities. Weapon crates now appear slightly more often than utilities and health crates. There is a 30% chance of a crate not falling each turn. The probabilities are as follows:
    • Weapon: 37%
    • Utility: 30%
    • Health: 33%
    • All 10 crates falling: 70%
    • 9 crates falling: 91%
    • 8 crates falling: 97.3%
    • 7 crates falling: >99%
This is to make the update smoother for those who already got used to the old 7-crate rate.
  • Kaos Pro: stays the same, but craterate bumped from 7 to 8 (flat rate).
  • Rubber Plop War (minor fixes)
  • Shopper (Mole power increased to 5 stars)

New Schemes:
  • Kaos Mole Shopper
  • Only Crates (credit: Mega`Adnan)
  • Rowy (credit: philie). Now available as a category on WMDB! (please upload more dedicated maps)

As usual, you can download this iteration for your private use under this post.

Crate probabilities of super-weapons do not have any effect in current version of the game. They can only be toggled on or off all at once (with the option), and will only fall under specific conditions.

You need to specify where you installed it, if you didn't change it during setup then I think by default it is "GOG Games" instead of "Games", so try that path.

Code: [Select]
wine ~/.wine/drive_c/GOG\ Games/Worms\ Armageddon/wa.exe
Assuming you are using the default C: drive in wine and that the home directory is unchanged.

my file name and everything matches up. I have it in my downloads folder but it just wont install. Any clues?
I think you may need to add \ before ( and ). Try this and let me know if it works:

Code: [Select]
wine ~/Downloads/setup_worms_armageddon_gog-3.8.1_\(43454\).exe
If it doesn't work, try double quotes:

Code: [Select]
wine "~/Downloads/setup_worms_armageddon_gog-3.8.1_(43454).exe"

Thanks. However, it appears there is now a regression: saving any scheme on TUS sets the terrain friction to 2.54999 (maximum value, anti-friction so worms slide infinitely at max speed), even if it was left unchanged in the scheme.

Tech Support / Re: Crate Shower questions (3.8 RubberWorm)

That is fine. I mean, the option to toggle the utility Crate Shower would be welcome, but the important thing is that the forced Crate Shower respects the set crate rate.
Some people think differently.

I see, a pity, yet livable. And by designing a map that suppresses these effects, what do You mean exactly? Is there an option I'm missing, or do You mean the shape of the terrain?

RubberWorm's Crate Shower does actually take all crate probabilities into account. It is basically equal to regular crate spawning but with parachute/teleport effect + repeated spawn. The one that disregards probabilities is the Crate Shower utility picked up from a utility crate in-game (this cannot be forced to be always-on at the moment).
I'm afraid there is no real solution for 2 and 3 other than designing a map specifically to suppress those effects.

Would it be possible to display the "undo" buttons only for modified values?

HostingBuddy schemes have been updated!
The following classic schemes have been updated:
  • BnG - changed to classic scheme, with "auto-place worms by ally" taking effect if manual placement is disabled by the host (manual placement defaults to ON)
  • Golf - all worms fully phased, land retreat is now set at 3 seconds
  • Hysteria - changed to classic worm order
  • Tower Rope Race - infinite teleport has been added
  • Warmer - changed to classic scheme with 0s automatic retreat.

Three brand-new schemes have been added:

General discussion / Re: GUESS WHOS BACK, BACK AGAIN

If you have not updated it to Catalina or later, you can just install wine (32-bit), then run the game with the latest update. The easiest way might be getting the installer from GOG (unfortunately the -75% sale ran out a few hours ago) and installing via their installer if you don't want to mess with the CD install and updates. It should work with no additional tweaks in windowed mode. (See this guide)

If you are on macOS Catalina or newer, you cannot play unless you use CrossOver (commercial software), or parallels/bootcamp/etc.

I'd be really interested in trying the scheme, I also wonder if DC could hardcode 'rules' into the scheme to prevent straight zooks, sitters, close teleports etc?

Yes, more scheme rules are planned to become options for the future. Anti-sitters is a no brainier that I'm pretty sure no one would be against. Also better placement in "auto place by ally" mode.

Senator pointed out to me (with links to relevant discussions) that anti-lock power was attempted in the past for BnG and decided to be removed after a test period. This is the kind of feedback I want, not a "this kills the scheme".

I'm planning to do another update for schemes next week, please keep suggestions coming.

I left that server after seeing racism & homophobic slurs met with a simple warning, that was the last straw for me.
There was one message from skunk3 that was overlooked, and was then quickly removed after your complaint. I'm afraid you are extrapolating from that single incident.

BnG is pretty dead anyway
Right, so you can't "kill" something more than it already has been.
This is why I think we need something fresh to revitalize the scheme. Extended fuse delays (or even a fractional fuse with a future update) could be interesting too. It could also be worth revisiting some of the old rules and make amendments.

Not all change is good, and if you have any concerns please list them in detail and we will rethink some updates. It is actually thanks to that feedback from you and others that the auto-reaiming was not enabled. More updates for HB schemes and more new HB schemes are planned, there is always time to revisit them again.

I would also like more feedback on other schemes rather than just BnG.

Players had 48 hours to submit their feedback through the Discord server.

There is no automatic reaiming or resetting of the angle in BnG. The two other options were long overdue and increase the skill ceiling while not "killing" the scheme. Welcome to test the changes in a live game before forming your opinion.
