I don't feel bad for what other people choose to do with their lives, I said I feel bad for anyone addicted to those games.

It's ok to enjoy something, but when you become addicted you lose control, other things in your life become less of a priority, you begin ignoring other things that used to be important to get your fix, and in extreme cases, much worse could happen... That's why I feel bad for them.

Kradie, after our conversation the other day i'm a little disappointed you jumped the gun here lol, but it's ok because your heart is in the right place :)

What if they aren't addicted? Maybe there are actual people that do enjoy Worms, Counter Strike, Dota, and so on. Gaming isn't what it used to be, it is more widely accepted, and even considered as a real sport.
So if you see some people gaming intensely inside, it can be the same as some dudes playing football outside (NOT AMERICAN FOOTBALL).

No need to be disappointed lad, I have no ill intent here, just trying to have a civil debate ;)

You should not try to feel bad for what other people choose to do with their lives. Of course, one could feel bad for you too, for having pity on other's decisions.  It is in my opinion a little condescending view, to look down. Instead it is better to accept and perhaps cherish the choices that people make in their lives. As longest these choices makes people happy, and it doesn't hurt anyone else, why would it be anyone's issue?

It is what Gandalf said "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

It is kind of society's fault for lot of us to think this way. People have expectations, if it isn't met, it is disregarded and frowned upon. It is a tabu to be indifferent,. It shouldn't be like this, no one has the right to tell you what you should do and how to live your life. But it is obvious if you're living an unhealthy lifestyle or a life of crime, then that's where someone should reach in.

No one agreed to anything, it was Walrus's own agreement he made with himself.
Dibz was waiting for his game, he wasn't to thrilled to learn that his opponent had left the tournament in favor something else. When you sign up for something, at least try a little, and don't flee so fast. You would have my deepest understanding if it was something serious but it wasn't.
dibz specifically said he was okay to play, and that he still would, but you had just closed the tournament before he had the decision to.

you are living in your own world again.

It had little to do with fleeing and a lot to do with the community.  Many people wanted to see this streamed, I got seperate requests from korydex, fad, and dr abegod; and had 2 commentators lined up for the final for the intermediate tournament.  I was going to stream the final of the zar tournament as well, but your obtuse nature prevented it.  Try to moderate in a way that doesn't directly clash with the tournament you are hosting in the future.  Your 'my way or the highway' modus operandi is just going to reduce participation in zar tournaments in the future.

Try not to use the community to shield your reasoning, because I believe this is on you. It is not my fault that you decided to join a tournament that was already scheduled. You can't blame this on me, you simply abandoned it. If you are to join something, you ought to try and stay committed as longest it takes.

Dibz agreed with me on this, once committed, don't back out. It is true that he said it was alright with it, but he didn't like it, and he would had prefered his opponent to man up and fight the final fight.

Yes Komodo, that is a good idea, I will add this rule about abandoning in future tournaments.

Thank you everyone for participating in the tournament. I really appreciate it.
IT was a bit of hiatus but ended bit badly, but nonetheless, stay tuned for more ZaR in the future!

Congratulation to Dibz for gold, gj :)

I will play my game with Ledan later on.

I'm sorry I couldn't compete, OK.

You joined a tournament, an active tournament, and you left immediately after pairing.
When you join something, you take responsibility, I am disappointed. But I can forgive though.

Please be aware of your actions next time, it affects other people.

This question keeps getting asked, but since the original T17 thread is buried, I'll repeat the answer: it's because Deadcode bought Worms Armageddon.

OH, well thank you for not reading!
https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/worms-armageddon/deadcode-cybershadow-team17-31354/

Now it all makes sense.

Although I am more confused now. If Deadcode bought WA, why is it on sale on Steam?

Worms Armageddon had more loyal following compared to Worms World Party. Therefore it was logical to support WA, and thus led to the inevitable demise of WWP.

Thank you j0e for clarifying that.

I apologize if my questioning seemed a bit silly.
I appreciate the answers nonetheless.

General discussion / Deadcode, CyberShadow, & Team17
September 23, 2017, 03:56 PM
Let's clarify, if it is possible.

There's something that I quite don't get.

Who receives royalties for publishing updates for WA?
Do Deadcode and CyberShadow do this for nonprofit purposes?
Is there a legal contract between DC, CS, and Team17?
Is WA 3.8 and 4.0 real? Or is it just a bad joke?
Is Team17 aware of these updates? If so, do they interact with it?
Will Worms Armageddon be released as a new game due to WA 4.0 major overhaul of the game itself?

That's it for now.

Thanks.

General discussion / Re: active?

Worms Armageddon isn't dying, but the league might be fading into oblivion? Most of you associate WA with past active and recognizable players. It is what j0e said ''There are a lot of good players who play under unrecognizable aliases.'' Therefore some of you might think of them as irrelevant because they aren't affiliated with TuS and have a high status. And perhaps that not everyone are into competitive games like some of you are. In the end it is about character.

It is true that WA can be a hardcore game, depending on the ambition of the individual. The threshold is tougher to overcome in WA compared to other games. This alone ''can'' discourage people from playing, particularly competitive. There are people who enjoys shopper, hysteria, and Full Wormage, there's nothing wrong with this, and it doesn't make the game dead. I have had people in my host, I have guided them, showed them how some of the things are done, and they have shown remarkable interest and gratitude.

So no, Worms isn't dying, it is just you that are in a unfamiliar place, a place that doesn't feel like home anymore. I don't think a lot of old school people are willing to make new friends with today's people. So it is pretty much a grouped community that lingers in melancholy.

Hosting buddy doesn't lagg. It lagged for few days month ago.
Are you guys even hosting any games or just speaking randomly? :)

The last time I tested (WormNat2) was 1,5 weeks ago and it did lag. It had lagged for weeks, not a few days.

WormNat2 still lags, but according to CyberShadow the lags should cease to stop at the end of this month. Although I am cautiously optimistic.
