Even though many animals are more vicious and murderous than humans, they aren't intelligent enough to know the pain they inflict, and mostly do it for survival.
Humans on the other hand, collectively, including me, are just a bunch of ignorant, selfish, greedy, evil useless entities, as a whole we are destroying this planet, not making it better.
If humans died, the planet would be better off, if animals died, the planet would still be destroyed eventually.
Although there maybe time to become better.
When it comes down to individual choice though, it's obviously going to be whatever I care about most, or what I think is more important to survive.
All humans are destructive more or less, and that's simply how life is. It is diverse, good and evil, it is a forced requirement that was chosen to us by evolution. Although good and evil is only a necessary concept made by human to suppress the chaos within. So there is still good in this world, we should not abolish all reason just because there are entities that are defined as evil.
Humans are motivated by self-interest, it is normal, because everyone gain something from it. You take, you get, you take, you get, it is exchange. Same for wildlife animals, they kill for survival, it is necessary for them due to lack of intellect. But we have the capacity to evolve unlike them. So no, for the humans it is important that we live on as long as we can to the inevitable end.
