Rocket is right that in league games, a script to automatically double tap can be like a safety cushion. I really don't see any reason to allow scripts, and doing so should be against the rules in league games (not commenting on this game, just in general).

If we allowed one kind of script then it seems like anything would be allowed, like say, a script to do a perfect boom race jump, or help with notching by doing the slightest tap possible. I'm not opposed to it in principle, but it seems like a bad direction since people shouldn't need extra programs to play the game, and it opens up a can of worms for various other scripts.

I have tried playing at 1080p and get constant screenlag, my computer is also pretty decent, i7 processor and a GEForce graphics card. Probably not many people have this problem, but yeah it's there.

There are definitely too many rope schemes; I think worms in general should be geared towards more strategic or ground-based schemes, which is a bit more in line with what new players would want out of a worms game. And yeah I would be another person who can barely play Big RR due to my monitor not being big enough and too much screenlag. It's probably not a problem for most people, but worth noting.

Are people still that attached to roper? To me it feels like the crate dependence has always been too much of a problem. WxW feels like it 'could' be a replacement for roper too, you could create roper-like maps with walls to touch.

Oh this is hilarious and awesome, nice job dude! These challenges have been really well designed with lots of ways to approach them, it's cool you featured the winners of each one. Also that Naruto sequence had me laughing.

It's surprising it makes such a difference, maybe my roping would get faster if I played on an actually high refresh rate monitor? Although my playing usually suffers when I switch from my 20 year old clunker

It's definitely faster direct from my laptop

I got an average 178 after like 5 to 10 mins. My best was 118 (without doing jumping the gun bullshit)

Props to dibz for keeping league play alive, even since the days of First Blood I can't remember a time where he wasn't at least a little active

Props to oldsock for generously donating $50 to TUS, he mentioned he would if I could beat Sir-J's time, really tough one I must say

General discussion / Re: RR map pack speedruns
October 10, 2023, 03:33 AM
It's basically just me and RuffledBricks who are mods for WA, I'd love to have RRs as part of SRC.

The only issue is that I don't think we could include just any maps, since there are thousands (or infinitely many if we include random gens). A community vote on a small number of map packs might make sense. If we wanted to start by adding these Bonhert maps, I'd be interested.

So on those maps, the autosplitter is set up to stop when the worm loses its turn? Is it looking at the image of the timer in the lower left?

That new kb tech seems like a natural progression for keyboards. I'd be interested if anyone tries this kb out to give feedback on how finger rolling feels on it.

I think kbs like that should be allowed unless anyone can think of a reason otherwise. But I'd want to know if the AHK script is actually identical to this before talking about allowing it, like I could imagine the script having even less latency. It wouldn't be a big deal to allow the script if there's truly no discernible difference. As long as we're not talking about allowing macros that press multiple buttons for you.

Thanks Bloops, I think that's gotta be this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_effect

I experience it all the time. Also possible Stable Diffusion was trained on worms maps

Off Topic / Music video I made for my band

In case any wormers are interested in the music I've been working on (dream pop, indie rock, etc), my band Superocean released an album, and I've made 2 music videos for us so far, latest one:

The full album Permafeels is here, thanks to anyone who listens: https://open.spotify.com/album/2fXI6yZgC0DX3jIvUtCk1j
