Hello,
Thanks much for the fix!  I can't get the game to launch at all, though.  Any hints?  Here are the facts:
-Using Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 64-bit
-Did a clean install to Program files (not Program files (x86)).  Just experimenting with anything now, because the install in the (x86) wouldn't launch.
-Installed the 1.01 patch.
-Unzipped the fix file into the WWP folder.

Did not change any other settings (Windows compatibility, colors settings).

Any ideas appreciated.  Thanks!

Never install your games into any of the Program Files, except Steam games. This directory and all of its subdirectories are write-protected and cannot write data to their own folders. Therefore the game may fail to create some files it needs, not to mention that your teams and singleplayer progress would always be reset on every start.

Reinstall the game into a good folder, for example My Documents or "Games", that is free.

Then, if the game still doesn't start please tell exactly what happens when you launch it. In particular, a screenshot or possibly a video of the problem would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm getting this error at startup only and while switching channels of weed snooper.
this is a known error, which happened after something was changed on the Wormnet server. (or something else, I dunno, I think it was the same version where the bug started occuring). this error also prevents you from using a custom IP address when hosting.
as I said the release is done as is, from 2012 without changes, I was forced to do the release. the reason is because Kawoosh didnt set up a SDK yet which takes lots of time to configure.
do not report bugs for it yet, they are all known.

Hey guys, Kawoosh has declared his wish to continue improving Weed Snooper soon, but only at condition that the current buggy beta is released. Thefore, here it is: download. Unpack the Weedsnooper folder into any good place and launch. Configure nickname and stuff in the "Options" button, top left.

Whats new? Info from posts in this thread:

skins!

Skins pack - 81 skins!  ;D

Skins will be able to be turned off, to either blank plain window or the Pseudo-WA style from the 0.0.1.14 beta (from the screenshots).

Also, improved pings. Not only the Game ID check verification has been done, but also now you can see which game is fully filled with players (full-room), and which are passworded (but appear as unpassworded in the list). This will now ensure the 100% quality of all the hosts you are about to join. And of course, it can show the hosts which were removed from the wormnet list (due to timeout, for example), but still available to be joined.

Private chats are now possible both on channel and in the separate tab/window. I'd point out to the newcomers that it's always possible to make a tab to be a window, or a window to be a tab (tabs system).

I'd also like to mention the perfect hosting ability of this snooper. Unlike wheat snooper, Weed Snooper can host on any server, with the possibility of WormNAT2, changing the flag, name, address for the host, and even (for the server owners) the proxy server for WormNAT2. It also allows full control on your host, you can close it anytime (in the future versions it will be able to reopen the closed lobbys directly from WA without rehosting). It also gets and uses the dynamic IP automatically, if your IP is dynamic (changing from time to time).

It's also worth mentioning that Weed Snooper doesn't do /who all the time like Wheat does. It adds players to the list gently as of them by join-part messages (the method WA uses also), which is additionally faster and eating an extremely low amount of traffic.

Please note that this version may be unstable or have glitches. For now, use it only for test purposes. In particular, a skins overhaul using a newer system will happen in the next update. It would resolve a few glitches and improve the overall look, as well as possibly give more customizability. This release is done as a proof of interests and intentions to do the update, and mainly serves as a motivation for its further development. Thank you.

is true, I had the same problem on a previous laptop and could only try some drivers but even then would only see black frontend with some options. it's not only about full OpenGL support, but also about supporting all of the required shaders for the game, as well as needing to run smoothly. The same for Clan Wars

come on guys, stop posting about it.
It has been officially confirmed that it's fixed for the next update. In addition, pressing Home button will also bring back the homing cursor to the worm.

in the options i've selected Direct3D 9 (CPU). aaand.. my worms takes 25% of my screen now while its in the upper left corner? i've downloaded this with the intention to get rid of my lags in rope games. how do i set this up properly? is there a key combo to maximize that window?
frontend was always 640x480, and this is how it looks like on a big screen without stretching. you can only stretch it using the settings. to do that, open wkD3D9Wnd.ini. then, depending on what you need, you may want to stretch it to cover the whole screen by enabling Stretch=1 in the FrontendSettings section. or if you want it to be a custom size, do EnableCustomSize=1 and set your size below.

omg, in the experimental standings Chile loses 79 points. very bad luck  :-X
#597
for me, the pairings is not the problem. the problem is I now go to bed in 6:00 and get up in around 14:30 because all of my favorite roping tourneys are hosted by chileans at 4:00, 5:00 nights, while there's almost nothing like this in the daytime, rarely even evenings. this killed my sleep, but np. keep playing with yourselves then.

btw guys I think we should advertise WA in asia. I mean, we would have the same people density 24/7, without being so few in the mornings.
#598
Quote from: DarkOne on August 26, 2013, 09:51 PMThe thing is, the logs in the replays are messed up when trying to export it with regular WA, so the site can't handle them (at least, that's how I interpret it, she'll know better what the problem is).
The file header of a PX replay is changed, so an unmodded WA won't be able to open it in any way. exporting logs with PX enabled also doesn't work and crashes after a few lines (before the 0:00 timestamp).

there's a way to get usual WA info though. The normal replay with the "WA" header is located after the PX data. the processing program could cut everything before it when analyzing the replay.
