TUS Discussion / Re: KEY REMAPPER
April 29, 2013, 07:05 PM
this is the exact reason why I will not ever release the updated wkKeyRemap. if such ridiculous "rules" didn't exist, there would be no problem. now we have to write platinum crutches to the already working code in order to satisfy your "needs", which is something beyond the initial inspiration for the module creation (in order to block a key, there have to be more deep researches done, and that isn't possible because Kawoosh simply won't want to look into it). note that wkKeyRemap uses native W:A's keyboard code, without anything external, which is why it only works during the gameplay without affecting chat, and doesn't depend on anything besides W:A. in fact, if WA ever had a built-in remapper, it would be internally 80% similar to the one implemented in wkKeyRemap.

if out of sudden there pops up a desire to keep the module's development, then the module will be released and everyone will be happy, otherwise no, no way. or, you can actually make your own... the keyboard functions in W:A aren't as hard, an average reverse engineer will be able to manipulate them to his will.

Logitech ultra flat.  Great low profile keys.  Tried media elite and g15 and stuck with this for the last 5 or so years.  All other keyboards' keys seem too big and bulky once you get used to low profile laptop style keys.
so much true!

the problem is that most keyboards' buttons are way too "huge" in height. I can't understand why there aren't as much flat keyboards as there are on laptops (I know, it's to economize space on laptops, but such keyboards are really better even on their own). I once tried a "huge" keyboard again. space was terrible indeed. this is why I always roped fast with 1 finger and 1 space on my laptop. :) and its in a lot better condition than it would be on any other standard KB (bigger amplitude gives bigger imbalance, thus the serving period is less). it's still perfect in fact, but I've got a new laptop already.
on the other side, typing on the "huge" keyboards is also very bad, however this may just be my own experience since I'm already used to flat keyboard for years.

does this help with crossfire / dual-core etc. compatibility issues?
are those graphic issues? pretty much yes, also fixes two-monitor bug on Windows 7, as well as Admin-mode maximize.

You MUST have 3.7.2.1?

Right now I think I have 3.7.0.0.
there are several versions of this module.
pick what you need from this page: http://worms2d.info/wkLobbyCmd

also wkPX.dll isn't compatible with 3.7.2.1, you will need to delete or move it when you enable wormkit module loading.

How exactly does this work?

Where do I put the file?

Where do I type this command?

For example, would I type:

/setres 1152x864
/setres 1920x1200

Is that right? Those are the 2 resolutions I use, it really is a pain in the ass having to quit wnet all the time to change res, and sometimes I forget, and have to quit games, which pisses people off, especially if it's a clanner lol...

enable load WormKit modules in Advanced Settings.
extract the archive into your WA folder.
type the command in the pre-game lobby (host or join doesn't matter).
that is totally right.

you do realize there have already been agreements to post tournament schedules in there, for example? just some competent people were too lazy.
