They obviously want to boost the sales of the game on steam hence why they claim it's only on steam, DC and CS do free work for the community, they try to make a cash grab on it... Also I like how the tweet says "As if we'd ever forget our turn-based Worms fans!" as if they're directly implicated in the making of 3.8...

That tweet was definitely shameless.

By popular demand you can now celebrate the 25th anniversary of Worms with a huge free update for the one, the only...

WORMS ARMAGEDDON!

🤢

Probably like 99% of players think T17 created the update themselves from the pure goodness of their hearts. There are countless comments on the trailer "This shows Team17 is one of the few companies today that don't give up on their games <3" 🤣

Tech Support / Re: can't host a game via great snooper
« on: February 10, 2020, 09:04 PM »
Trying to host a game for the first time in years and it is not working with Great Snooper 2.2 or 2.2.3 or 2.2.4. Even WormNat2 is not working. The game appears to the game list for a few seconds with WormNat2, but disappears then. I have forwarded ports, and can host regularly through the game.

Also has anyone found a way to use Great Snooper with Steam version of Worms Armageddon and NOT get the annoying "Allow game launch?" prompt by Steam every time you join/host a game? This didn't happen before, Steam has added this obnoxious "feature" since I played the last time, could this be related to the hosting issues?

edit: Tested with non-Steam 3.7.2.1 WA.exe, it's working normally through Great Snooper.

Rocket league? Really m8? :)
Okay, maybe not really Rocket League. Would be cool to see a ball game mode in it though  :)

Only 11 people playing it right now with 30 player all-time peak according to steamcharts.com, it'll probably be forgotten soon and then abandoned like most small indie games like this one. I might buy it if it finds a player base and if they add more depth and tactical elements to the game.

"Other Worms-like games"

Hedgewars is the answer

Yeah. It's just really bad and ugly, at least it was when I tried it many years ago.

This new game called Treadnauts is kind of cool looking. Worms meets Liero meets Rocket League? Currently in Steam Early Access:

by the way to be sure that this is a problem with great snooper you can test with another snooper. usually they use the same methods and parameters to do their job, so if both snoopers fail then it is most likely a bug of the game (a graphics bug maybe) and if the other snooper works, then gs spoils something.
Thanks! I should've tried that earlier... Same problem with Web Snooper so it's not a problem in your program. I will try an older Nvidia driver.

Edit: Older drivers didn't work but I tried running my Steam version of the game and it's working perfectly. I guess I'll start using it!

This has been my favorite snooper for years, sadly it doesn't work for me anymore. I started it for the first time in about a year and tried to hop in a game, but the game screen that pops up is just black. No sound, only the loading icon Windows cursor, game hangs. Tried starting the game normally without the snooper, no problems there. I also updated the snooper to the newest version, didn't fix it. Also tried reinstalling and rebooting, but nope. I'm using Windows 10 and I believe it worked without problems last summer and I'm pretty sure I was using this crappy Windows 10 already back then. I'm using the latest drivers for my GTX 660. No problems with other games either. Running the latest version of the game. Anyone have a clue how to fix this?

Edit: Changed graphics API to DirectDraw (32bit) and now the Snooper works normally, but I want to run it with Direct3d 9 (shader) instead since with it the game runs much more smoothly  :(

Decided to give the game 2h of my time, because refunding is a thing. Played 2h, posted a negative review to Steam where I went through all the pros and cons, then I refunded the game. Steam removes the review :D Refunding shouldn't invalidate reviews, wtf Steam. This further explains the relatively small amount of negative reviews for WMD on Steam, people that disliked the game refunded it and so couldn't leave a review.

edit: The main reason I was going to give a negative review is because of the price and that preorder exclusive content bullshit, otherwise it seems like pretty cool game for a lot of people, especially if they're going to fix the biggest bugs and perfomance issues.

I can't remember many schemes utilizing these power settings, the only one that popped up in my head is Mole Shopper, in which most of power changes are completely unnecessary and are best described as a clusterf@#! (literally!)

That being said, I don't get how some people there call it one of the most critical features. How is it critical if it's hardly ever used? Do I miss something?

I think a big reason why people don't mess with the weapon powers in WA is that there isn't any indicator of the adjustments shown on the weapon panel. It's really confusing for people if weapons are changed. And in a lot of cases more intricate adjustments have been made with third party editor, so you can't even see what the changes are in the in-game lobby's scheme info. It would be easy to add information about the weapon to the weapon panel to check the power settings etc, and would without a doubt make the feature more popular and useful!

Some of the power changes in Mole Shopper sure may seem unnecessary, but they make the scheme really unique. And plenty of them are necessary, like making the Mole itself more powerful. And some of the changes are not simply damage buffs, but make the weapon handle very differently (for example Shotgun).

And what about Ninja Rope?

WA's weapon settings are far from perfect, but they could be improved a lot in a new game (does wind affect the weapon, does it stick to terrain etc.).

Its a gigantic step in the right direction, team17 has shown 0% interest in the community till jonno has shown up, they have never visited these boards in the past until he started working there.

The previous community manager Mike aka MusterBuster was really cool too, he did come to #worms and once livestreamed WA with some of the Worms veterans, around 2014. But yeah, big thumbs up for Jonno! I hope you will keep bearing with us  :)
