Is the downstairs worm only allowed to use mines? Is the time while worm is flying or sliding due to an explosion counted, or only turn + retreat?

It just occurred to me that these rules do not technically say that retreat time is excluded from the ranking criteria, only from the "within 60s" rule.

True winners of the challenge are those who never participated, since they used 0 seconds for challenge completion. The grinders should naturally be ranked last.

So, only one out of every group continues? A little late to say now, I'd have opted for 2 out of 4 player groups. Also aren't the player group tables somewhat superfluous and redundant? They seem to imply that the topmost player is at winning position too.
