Description:
I will be organizing a tournament for Snooker scheme (updated now to WA v3.8 ) on this Sunday (2nd June 2024). I'll be awaken and starting to organize it at 10h GMT (UTC).

The scheme was selected after turn 1 and turn 2 of votations.

The idea is that this tournament is a warm up for a future Snooker cup that will happen regardless of the success of this tournament. If it be a success FoxHound will donate $30 USD to TUS. If it flops, FoxHound will still publish all the games on this page, even as attachments if necessary. If 1 single person show, FoxHound will be available to play the scheme with this person, and the games will be published here. If nobody shows up, FoxHound will play against himself and publish the replays here.

The tournament will follow Worm Olympics suggestions for hosting a tournament. If someone would like to help me, I would apreciate, because I never hosted a tournament.

The tournament will happen in Community Server, since FoxHound is consistently being banned for no reason from WormNET and thus, he can only host in Community Server.

Tournament rules:

Remind that Snooker has no rules. Typing "/arrows" is recommended to find crates, though. The only things that are important:

  • Games must be played on standard size (1920x696 pixels) blank maps (empty maps / erased maps / Holy War or Burning Girders maps), only with small horizontal girders on it. The girders can be changed with the "Reseed" button each new round, but this is not necessary, only recommended.
  • It's 1vs1, best of 3 and players must play with 6 worms each (12 in total).

How to join community server?

  • Run WA, select the bottom right corner: the options menu.
  • Click on Advanced button
  • Check the box "Use community server list"
  • Close WA and run it again
  • Click on the buttons of the WA menu to join WormNET normally.
  • It will show a list of servers. Select Community server.
  • Join the tournament in Anything Goes channel of this Community Server

I can play in other server, but it's a lottery if I will be able to host. About 10 GMT, this is the time that the inscriptions will be open and I'll be online and ready to play and play the scheme. However the real tournament may start some hours later. What time do you suggest? And which server? AG?

Up to you. Just wanted to point out that 10 am is one of the deadliest times of online and it can be tricky to explain ppl how to get on community server. I'm not sure if I'm going to play this myself anyway.

FoxHound

Okay I'll make a guide to people join community server. I think it's good because it'll be empty, easier to see who's in the tournament. And community server should replace Team17 server. It's better and from our own community.

About the time, maybe 16GMT is a good time? I'll be awaken, not with JP, 10 GMT, though. Since this time I'll be ready to prepare things and play with people who want to test the scheme.

FoxHound

Sign ups are open!

The coffee is ready and vesuvio is not posting coffee gifs on shoutbox today! I'm awaken and fortunately JP is not here! I'll be in Community Server's Anything Goes Channel the whole day!

I'll be ready to play with anyone that wants to give a try to snooker. I'll ask if the person wants the game to be published here or not.

When a sufficient number of players sign in, we can schedule a time for our tournament. I suggest 16 GMT or later.

Well you tried. Snooker is horseshit ofc

If you don't wanna play today, you can play the horseshit cup that will be ready in a few days. MAX horseshit scheme.

FoxHound

I'll be in Community server until 02h GMT (UTC). Kirill, if no more players join the tournment, we can play if you want. We can still get 4 more players to play this afternoon or late night.

I really think community server was a bad idea.

Since people report the games here, why can't they just play their games as normal and only YOU play yours on community server? Think it would be easier that way for everyone.

I think 10GMT is actually a decent enough time I don't see WNET die down usually until 1am, but the community server isn't great it involves people setting things up and you KNOW people are lazy these days.

It's not like 1999 when people actually made the effort of going out their way to read and learn everything about the game.

If I am around, I might stream a game or 2, see what it's about.

I feel a bit down whenever something isn't successful, this is normal... I feel even worse when I see others not achieve the success they hoped for.

So I hope you get at least 8 players!

If you host one, I will play. Good luck!

I don't know how to close tournaments, this one ended already. Two people played with me that Sunday. I was on AG the whole day. I enjoyed the games. Both players allowed me to share the replays. I will upload them soon and also update the scheme again, just a few tweaks, because I noticed some minor issues playing with Kirill that I want to avoid for the future cup that I will organize. I'm just a bit busy not to say burnout right now. My grandmother passed away recently too, 1 century old. First woman math teacher of my state. That's why I didn't do these things I'm saying. Vacations are coming soon and I will have a lot of free time to work on WA. If people join the cup thinking that Snooker is Warmer or don't join at all, if it flops, I don't care. I don't care if a cup will annoy who play two or three schemes competitively and think that different schemes are a problem for the community. I just always wanted to create a cup for Snooker since its creation. And I do want to do it before eventually quitting WA again or something like this.

TheKomodo

Dude.

Now you understand everything I was saying.

I love you fox, you get it now.

This is why worms can only have 8 worms on a team at a time
