Title: 2v2- Teams: Sign-ups are open!!

ok, for those of you who do not know.. im starting a 2v2 league.
After all interested participants sign up, me and a small group of other worms will split the teams evenly, of either 4, or 5 members...
once the teams are split, you have 1 week to practice with your team, and decide on a team name... if no name is decided, i will appoint one to you.
As of now, im not sure how the points system will work, or how long each season will be... but EVERYTHING will be handled on forums (2v2 team forums coming soon for league use only... you will NOT have personal forums for each Team) including, sign-ups, complaints, reporting, etc.
Ok, anyone who is interested in participating in this league, please prepare to take it seriously, and be semi active... i dont expect everyone that joins to play each and every day, but if your the type or person that only plays once a month, please.. this league is not for you!! thanks.

When this will start? I would like to participate but i have only 5-6 weeks left, then i wont be able to play for 4 months. And atm im able to play defaults only cos so laggy. Someone pls recruit me with these details! ;D

okok. well avi u can give the points for me. too hard for me to do it. and i think this system doesnt work very well as there is no exact reference point cos everyone rates themselves. at least i can already see there some mess.

I agree. There isn't much sense to rate themselves because everyone uses a different "yardstick". Nor is it very wise to choose a team member just looking the rank. It's the same for tus classic league points because, as NC already said, not everyone play it steadily and they don't reflect the potential of a player.
I would suggest to write only the best/worst schemes. You can determine the level of a player only by looking at its replays.

It's better for players to rate their scheme preferences instead of skill level. It's a lot easier and more subjective. Also, not everyone's best scheme is their favorite scheme and vice versa.

to be more clear to everyone: the rating is for me to get a better idea of everyone skill, more so, of the players i do not know well... NinjaCamel, i would prefer if you fill out the form, do the best you can... please..
Gabriel, i will give you one more chance to fill out the form properly, giving yourself all 1's is not realistic... if you dont fill out the form properly, you will not be placed in a team.. thanks.

i will be taking the rating as a reference.... its not like i have some mathematical system set up, where i will punch each rating point in, and out pops the teams...
these are going to be a reference for me to base the team on, i will also use my own knowledge of players, and do the best i can sorting out the teams... dont expect every team to be equal, there will be some underdogg teams im sure, and maybe some strong teams... but i will try my best...
but as i said, this thread is no for discussion, please just keep it for singups. thankx

1. You could send private messages about the sign ups to all potential participants (to all the players who have played some games this season, for example). 2.1 Ask people only to put the schemes in order from best to worst. Put the players you know in pools based on your knowledge about their skill level and their scheme preferences. Then select players randomly from the pools to the teams. Unfamiliar players you can just add randomly to the teams based on their scheme preferences. 2.2 Make the evaluation more simple and write an explanation for each class, like 1= bad, 2= average, 3= good.

Or he could have asked either MI or me to put it on the front page. Let's see if this increases sign ups.

casso, if you did not sign up, for such a silly reason of not liking the evaluation... then... thats just silly, nothing more to say on that...

so are you going to randomly pair players and they remain team mates for the remainder of the season ? I think this will be good fun but only downside may be the timezones... if you look at all the 2v2 cup attempts none have worked well, but i hope this works :)

yes, im going to try to pair teams as evenly as possible, you will be with that group for 1 season...
timezones can be an issue, thats why i asked for everyones timezone in the singups... i will do the best i can to make it spread out evenly.

I think activity could increase if this project will start good and if we will enjoy it.

i cant start until i get forums sorted out....
i have this forum, but i cant edit, add new forums, or any other mod rights...
only way ill be able to do that, is if im down with other clans and communities, so i may have to go there...
i cant open a league with absolutely no forum rights, other then posting abilities... MI is making this very difficult on me, if its intentional or not, i do not know...
so, we will start ASAP, but not yet...

some of the people have put ratings that are just not right...
if your unsure, its better to rate yourself slightly higher...
as i did... its a bit more fair to put your skill level higher, then lower.. but, either way... as said, these are just a small reference for me to base things on when i set up teams, i will also use my own judgement, and knowledge... so, please.. everyone stop being so worried about the ratings ;P
its mainly there for guys like zexorz, johny, and others (just couple names off the top of my head) that i have not played much with, and dont know their skill level... so, hopefully they were honest enough with their ratings, and it will help me in placing them in a team... the ratings are no big deal... trust me ;p
