Title: Map database is back
Post by: MonkeyIsland on May 10, 2019, 05:49 AM
Sorry for the big delay. I've been restoring the map database for a while now. Recoded some parts and even improved the map recognition system for both BIT and PNG maps.
Total maps on TUS at the moment: 157,984 Recovered maps: 156,444 (99.0% success) Missing maps: 1,485
Here's the list of missing maps sorted by author alphabetically. If you have any of them, please send them to me.

Appreciate the work MI.
Last bng replay on tus caught my eye cause it shows the map Xan and myself made (Mirrored BnG mappack). When I clicked on replay it showed there was no author for the map. Then I went to mappack folder and it's full of empty thumbnails. Some malfunction is happening, you can check it by yourself.

EDIT: checked few other mappacks and similar things happening on most of them.

How do I send them to you? Upload to a file thingy and just send you link? Or you have somewhere specific you want me to send them?
I have a bunch of my own ones for sure, I think I have some of the other authors as well.
Also, great work man!

ARTemych's Epyptian: [REDACTED] DarkHoodness TF2: [REDACTED] Djoszee's maps from wmdb: [REDACTED] my Default@2x: [REDACTED]
try contacting ppl who got affected directly, they most likely have them somewhere
that's all for now... I think
EDIT1: MI claims it's a virus... wtf?

Yes that'll work.
If the maps are not a lot, you can also do these steps:
1. click on "upload a map (map editor)" from the main menu. 2. load your map 3. on the bottom of the screen, click on "merge this map with another map" 4. select "replace and add" and give the missing map ID" 5. click on submit.

What if you have 94 maps missing? :/

Many thanks for putting all my maps back. :-*
I just noticed though, there are 98 maps listed for me. I definitely had 100, but I can't as yet work out which 2 are missing. They would be in the zip file I uploaded. My complete map pack on this site also says it has 100 maps in it but only contains 98. I'll see if I can work out which ones are gone.

No problem. One of the missing maps is Frazzy's-Fourtieth. I don't think it was ever uploaded to TUS. However you can upload both missing maps manually.

Ok. The other missing one is 'Blue Cavern Upsidedown' as far as I can tell. I've re-upped them, but they were both definitely there before.
Everything is in order again. Kinda.
Cheers. ;)

I'm checking replays and retrieving some maps from wmdb of various authors, will send you a pack real soon. Edit: There are missing maps in the database which aren't in the missing list, better double check it MI. :-\

MASS MAPS RECOVERY
I have been through all the maps of missing map list and was able to retrieve 560 maps in the process of extracting from replays, searching in my hard drive and downloading from wmdb or other sources, everything done manually including maps renames, no scripts. Took me about 9 hours. :)
Maps list below, had to use Pastebin because the list would exceed the maximum allowed characters. https://pastebin.com/HtpzqmQe
Found missing maps which aren't in the missing list. I believe there are dozens more and I will hunt those in the next few days. Maps marked with * weren't recovered:

I just noticed, one of the 2 maps I re-uploaded (Frazzy's-Fourtieth I think) has been removed. No idea why.

I have them, but they're the same map. The only difference is that one is high-color, while the other is low-color. However, they're giant. In fact, they are over 7MB combined. How should I send them?!

[Triad][#5150] Roper/Warmer was a test map, you can delete it.

Please upload them to some site and give me the download link. This site (https://www.mediafire.com/) works.

So, some of the edited maps seem to be broken (TTRR maps with %60 water etc.) and I still can't delete maps. Could you delete these maps:
10904 10905 11168 11225 15661 15662 16942 16943
I'll reupload broken ones, and refurbished versions of others. Sorry about inconvenience, thanks in advance.

Some of the maps you want deleted are fine. (e.g. 10905 or 11168)
Why those maps need to be deleted?
Title: Re: Map database is back
Post by: Triad on July 30, 2019, 06:45 PM
I assumed we could delete our own maps without any reason?
png ones are all fine, I was thinking to update them and upload the new versions since map updating caused some issues like water levels.
I assumed 10905 was corrupted too, guess not. You can just delete other 3 bit maps for now then.
You can delete 11225 too, that's not really my map, just a colored version of a roper map I can't recall.

I rather fix the maps than to remove and reupload. Please upload the fixed versions, I'll handle the rest.

Here you go, try downloading them after you put them to the system to make sure there are no bugs:

You can do it yourself:
1. click on "upload a map (map editor)" from the main menu. 2. load your map 3. on the bottom of the screen, click on "merge this map with another map" 4. select "replace and add" and give the missing map ID" 5. click on submit.
(it needs my approval after your submission)

I know I'm lateAF to this, but is this why my wkWMDB plugin no longer works?
Title: Re: Map database is back
Post by: MonkeyIsland on December 15, 2019, 06:38 AM
No. Totally unrelated. This was about TUS map database being down. It had nothing to do with WMDB or wkWMDB plugin.
