Title: Scheme updates
Post by: Senator on August 22, 2017, 06:14 PM
The following changes have been made to the schemes:

BnG
- "Stay on your half of the map" replaces the minimum distance rule

Big RR
- Banana Bomb removed
- Turn time 40s
- If you finish on the same turn as the opponent, the remaining time on the clock decides

Intermediate
- You can demand Bo1 but in that case the opponent gets to start. The default is still Bo3.

Team17
- Use this scheme (https://www.tus-wa.com/schemes/scheme-2412/) (FB scheme but with less bananas)

Don't feed the youngster, Godmax. He's craving for attention.

Good question. The thing is, HHC was against SD and 3s mines and MI and I don't really know about Aerial. Need to ask some more Aerial players such as Chelsea, Hussar, Xrayez..

Well, my opinion is:
HHC doesn't like changes cause it's his scheme, and I totally understand that.
Chelsea never will vote for SD cause it could ruin his darkside way of thinking, and we don't want that, obviously ;)
Xrayez? He's been so inactive that he doesn't even know there's new aerial scheme going on for last year or 2.

Why not asking ppl who actually play it?

It buggs me cause I personally love this scheme.. Been playing it and testing ALOT. With many ppl. But getting tired of proving something no one seem to care about.
Nvm.

SD Aerial > Regular Aerial.

You might argue about mine duration, but SD concept definetely should be added.

Aerial with sd... Maybe add also sd to bng? Lol
IMO is so stupid idea coz I prefer longer games where skill decide not luck "who is higher" lol

I already made Death BnG scheme with rising water.

Though as I mentioned in the past, SD can help players end the game.

You should to be shame for making that scheme and writting about that! lol

Yeah, don't trust me much, I've been inactive for quite a long time, busy  ;)

No matter the round time untill SD, I think it's reasonable that it should be set experimentally to confirm to the real playing time (20 min for most schemes). So, in order for Aerial with 5 sec per turn run for 20 min of gameplay (on average), the SD time should be around 3-4 minutes.

If sudden death were to ever make any sense, all players would die instantly...

It is apparent based on this, that you Komodo do not approve of Sudden Death at all. Like it has no place in Worms Armageddon.

Of course not lol, just pointing out that the phrase sudden death doesn't do what it says on the tin ;)

BnG
- "Stay on your half of the map" replaces the minimum distance rule

Well, I think it would be better, stay on your side and if u are near other side, then apply distance rule ( 4 grenade holes, isnt? ).
Btw, you can explain a bit why you changed this rule, ty.

Maybe "stay on your QUARTER of the map"? First and last vertical quarters i mean.

Maybe stay on the 667 / 1523 of the map?

With the old rule you could tele in the middle and leave the opponent only a small area.

Maybe i understand it in a bad way, I though with this rule you can do that exactly, then its an advantage to team/player who start 1st.

In 2v2, there are some players who have a habit of teleporting right up at the middle of the map when both your players are further back, this means you are unable to even use your half of the map, it's obviously not fair.

This rule is the best solution to that, yes we understand some people won't like that and think mini-bng is lame, but the truth is gives you more options and tactics to use in BnG making it more fun if you actually enjoy BnG and don't get stuck up about who thinks what's lame...

I think i'll enjoy it, if 2 people wanna hide close to each other, let them lol, maybe against all odds they just want romance...

Watched some Aerial replays. Seems like SD is the rule rather than the exception with 1 min round time. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Made change to Big RR scheme and tele is still there?
Would really like to hear which ppl here want tele in that scheme. Especially their explanation why.

doesnt it shorten fixing mistele at start if cant find start on bad maps?

It does. But isn't it easier to rehost than to play the whole game while tele is trolling you on f8, which is the key where both weapons for RR are situated (rope and chute).

Anyway, people that can't find start are often the ones with IQ of a room temperature. Maybe just avoid those ;)

then make a rule to disallow superretarded maps where you spend ten minutes on searching for start
Title: Re: Scheme updates
Post by: XanKriegor on September 02, 2017, 12:45 PM
This problem is solveable by putting just ONE Tele. If you are a fragile princess and Tele's presence destroys your inner harmony, just use it before your first turn end, and you are free of it. If you are retard who cant find start, this Tele would be useful. If you are both, problem is solved anyway xD If Tele's presence does not bother you, no problem to begin with.

EDIT. "I wish i could go through WMDB myself and remove shitty BigRR maps from HB list" © Komodo. I agree, big clean up would be good. Maybe people in charge can allow him to do it while he have free time?
Title: Re: Scheme updates
Post by: TheKomodo on September 02, 2017, 04:17 PM
That's the problem with WMDB, they don't want any help, but they are too useless to organize stuff themselves.
Title: Re: Scheme updates
Post by: Marko on September 03, 2017, 05:02 PM
Haven't been here in a while, but my two cents... Sensei is right, tele is a huge problem because when it does appear it cancels your momentum and you need to go for another swing usually. WMDB problem is solvable, it's just a lot of work. Delete stupid maps or mark maps where starts are within one of the corners. Or at least put the instructions on screen center, some people really don't want others to enjoy their maps without having a nervous breakdown lol

There's the scheme uploaded by Kaleu, that doesen't have Tele. (it doesen't write anywhere that you should use his or lales'es scheme..so feel free to use the one without tele > problem solved ;d )

Hah, of course I will.
Just feel curious about the principles of scheme updating around here.

No one simply complained about the teleport before, that's why it wasn't removed.

However, there's this rule:
Quote
- If you plop, then use teleport to place where you started the last turn.

When you play on a map with plops, you should start with 3 worms.
