Zzzz dunno if the scheme file is original, but its damn frustrating. Isnt it better to have unlimited turn time/rope count and give big penalty for using a rope? Skip every 2 attaches blows. On the other hand it might be frustrating to count all these attaches xd

ae I dun think we need to count the attaches...
edit: just count ur turntime + 5 sec for every turn used

What would be the point of calling it a challenge then? The trick to save time is to find ways to end your turn quickly and by the look of barman's time, I'd say he's quite good at that :)
This challenge tests your ability to manouver your rope with extends, flagpoling and flings through narrow spaces.

Damn, that's a sweet run.

I'm away for a couple of days, but I'll check all replays once I get back :)
-
It just occured to me ^^
if you right click on the replay and export the log, the total turn time is there for you, at the end of the log. All you need to do, for this challenge, is count the number of turns, multiply it by 5, and add this to the total turn time ;)
-
Indeed :)
Unfortunately, windows 8 has stolen my ability to export logs :( (or do any of the other right click options)

I had that with windows 7... I have no experience of windows 8. do u think the same solution that worked for win7 would work for win8?
-
Depends on what that solution is :)
-
it had something to do with choosing the default program for replay files

Here is my 180.70 second tool-assisted run of this challenge, done in 18 turns.
2013-03-13 05.48.39 {TA} 2013-03-12 02.42.59 [TCB Challenge 52 - 180.70 sec] 0xDEADC0DE.WAgame (http://kingbird.myphotos.cc/2013-03-13%2005.48.39%20%7BTA%7D%202013-03-12%2002.42.59%20%5BTCB%20Challenge%2052%20-%20180.70%20sec%5D%200xDEADC0DE.WAgame)
There are some annotations in this replay, at the beginning (basically a copy of the following paragraph) and during one of the turns.
This run is the culmination of 28 hours of work across 5 days, with 6570 total rerecords (backtracks to an earlier point in the replay). Two of these backtracks were to the very beginning of a finished run, resulting in 3 complete runs that started from scratch (or nearly so - the second fresh run kept the first 3 seconds of the first run). The 180.70 second run took 2514 rerecords in 11.2 hours to do from scratch (the last three turns, the product of 399 of these rerecords in 1.7 hours, were copied from the end of the 186.06 second run).
Here is the complete archive of all of my TA runs of this challenge, the first of which was 221.94 seconds (in 21 turns) and took 1003 rerecords and 4.4 hours to do.

You didn't touch the finish, doesn't count! :P

RoH seems to have trouble reading challenge descriptions :P
