Title: Challenge #747, TT Big RR #27
Post by: Sensei on June 25, 2018, 11:17 AM
Congrats masta, but not cool of you to wait last min. Salty was waiting for someone to beat his time so he can try and brake it. That was the point of hosting these challenges, so ppl can compete.

Ah well, nr anyway!

I swear i'm not trying to cause an arguement but, if the point isn't to post your best time within the deadline, can you write it in the description?

I don't play these, but I enjoy following them :)

Tbh, I don't think salty was trying very hard anyway, he had so many fails, Masta just has extra OCD with this game, nobody can be bothered to actually compete with him, and if they did, he would spend double as long back lol.

Masta I reckon you could get around 140 with a lot less mistakes :)

Do you move your mouse while doing the drops, or just time it/judge it without? That bottom right was so clean! Those are one of my biggest weaknesses usually.

In a spirit of sportsmanship there are some non-written rules.

What's the point? Salty can still break the time anyway

It's not about sniping, its about wanting to break a record, old or new, just have fun, jeez! The deadline is set anyway for a certain amount of time. If people want to try to break old records, they should be allowed too. It is just a game.

Don't even know what's with all the comments lol. You guys making a fuss where there is no any.
Masta knew what I was trying to say and he replied in that tone. If my words came out wrong for some of you, sorry.

I'm pretty sure you just made that up yourself to be honest, never actually ever heard anybody else mention this, ever... I'm being completely honest.

It's no wonder to me you're struggling with a word sportsmanship :)
If you didn't notice, we have different ways of seeing things.

Spare us wall of text to reply on this pls. I'm out, everything's been said.

If you didn't notice, we have different ways of seeing things.

Yeah, I see things that exist, you see things that don't exist.

No, you don't get out that easy mate, show me ANYWHERE that you saw this "unwritten rule" being mentioned by anyone else, i'm actually begging you! I've played this game since the start, even when I wasn't played the past 6+ months, I was still checking TUS every week, following challenges.

Sounds like you are making up excuses simply because you don't like people posting at the last minute, and you want to stop that for your own reasons, because virtually nobody else gives a f**k.

People are aware Masta does this almost everytime, saves his best time until as late as possible, it's their choice if they wanna do the same thing or not.

I just want to see you prove your words, for once in your life, or admit you just made it up(which is totally fine! at least we know now!), or your usual option, start attacking me as a person because you know you have NOTHING to back up your words.

I would LOVE to see you put me in my place with any shred of evidence, i'd happily apologize and perhaps even give you the benefit of the doubt in future.

So yeah, either 1 of 3 things will happen:

You will admit you just made it up...
You are telling the truth and i've been blind.
You will change the subject and ignore it.

Just to clarify, an unwritten rule is something that MOST players verbally agree on in public or in private, i've saw neither of these.

Also, please don't take this as me just trying to get in your way, ruin your event because that's what people usually ignorantly think/feel, I am ASKING you to show me evidence of this, because I want to be IN THE LOOP if it actually exists.

Sportsmanship is playing fair.

Posting a time before the deadline, is completely fair.

Moaning about it, isn't.

Looking from the outside, in, Sensei is the one with poor sportsmanship right now.

Maybe people don't want to share a replay of what they consider them looking bad? What business is that of yours? I'll answer for you, none!

If you want people to post a replay, wait for someone else to beat it, then try again, honestly that sounds f**king stupid to me, you should be aiming to get your absolute best time within the time frame given, if people want to post something they thought is awesome and someone tries to beat it, fair enough!

But trying to force people to adhere to fantasy rules that aren't even needed, just something YOU want to enforce, can distract a few people from playing in future, for absolutely no useful reason whatsoever.

Even one of the nicest guys Wnet has ever saw, Nonentity/Masta, didn't even know about this silly made up "unwritten rule"... So yeah, I must be insane huh...

And you probably made him feel ever so slightly negative, or awkward, because of that, even if it's as simple as "Oh, sorry...".

You should just try to encourage it as best as possible because it IS after all, YOUR event, put it in the rules and try to get people competing this way, because it is extremely fun as a player and a spectator to watch people battle it out, much like Ryan and Lordhound back in the day...

Whoever have submitted last in the last hour might be considered "a sniper", even if there were 20 submits from 10 different players. There will be last submission anyway.

Your train of thought is amusing, Komo.

First 300 sentences you're trying to prove a point where I turned out to be jackass and then in last sentence you agree that players shouldn't post replays in last min cause if they post it earlier there will be better battles, higher quality challies and more fun for both - players and spectators. I can't force someone to do it, nor make a rule about it.. But we can all agree it would be great to see masta and salty battle this one out through few replays. 15 days is quite a nice margin.

Really tired of you man. I share nothing but respect towards Masta and his skills, but in your awkward mind you're sure I made him feel like shit and you simply can't get over it. Looking for some kind of justice where there's no need for any. Even after I apologised. Only guy that got affected by anything here is you, cause that's your forte..

No one person should speak for the whole community.

For starters, less than 10 minutes of typing is hardly a novel, anybody who can't handle it - I don't give a f**k! It's your problem, not mine!

Sensei, honestly, wow...

I'm not trying to prove any point where you turn out to be a jackass, I never even used the word jackass...

Yes, you can force it, yes, you can make a rule about it, if that's how you want your challenges to run, F**KING DO IT ALREADY! Or shut the f**k up and stop your pathetic whining already!

The ONLY thing I care about in this thread is YOUR LIES!! I don't care who you are what you've done in life, right now the point is:

You said it's an "unwritten rule", which is something, as i've stated before, most of the community involved verbally agrees on, or discusses frequently, for example, "no notching" in bng was an unwritten rule, and there is evidence of it all around...

Even "no telecow" has became an unwritten rule for many Hysteria players... There is proof...

One person(as far as I see), saying it's an unwritten rule to post their replay at the last minute, DOES NOT MAKE IT AN UNWRITTEN RULE!!! It doesn't matter who f**king agrees with you presently if it isn't public knowledge or hasn't been in the past! How the f**k can't you grasp this EXTREMELY SIMPLE CONCEPT!

I've asked multiple times to be proven wrong...  I ask Sensei to show me any shred of evidence to back up his statements, what a surprise, the useless f**k can't as usual.... He talks sh*t about me AGAIN.

Show me some chat log from the past, or another challenge with the same thing being discussed, and i'll happily shut up, until then I am going to continue to repeat this into your thick skull until you actually do something f**king useful!

My issues lol?

I am not the one who can't back up the stuff he says. (Yet again you change the subject to something about the persons personality lol.)

Just proves my point, you can't back anything up, run away as usual lol.

I see no problem with submitting any replay at any point as long as the challenge is still technically open.

That said, I thought that it would be fun to try one of these challenges but I only gave it 4 attempts before giving up. I am not used to roping for several minutes at a time and by the end of the map my hands are in total agony. I love Big RR (it's my favorite scheme, in fact) but doing a whole map in one go? Nah. Can't do it. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome + mild Arthritis = nope. My best time was actually my second run, where I hit 182 something and had a ton of mistakes along the way. By the time I finished my 4th attempt I had to go grab some Ibuprofen.

That's exactly what happened with me when I tried to do Jetpack race! My right hand was in f**king agony after about 200 seconds of fidgiting with the arrows :( Shame cuz it's a really fun and skilled scheme...

I'll give you one (https://www.tus-wa.com/challenges/challenge-127/) example, this is the time I remember it being posted; talked about this with some wormers myself, not on forums of course, because you don't actually know what was the real reason behind last second reports, so the benefit of the doubt is always there.

You don't need to say THINGS IN MAYUS JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN THEM. Makes you look like a complete asshole.

Gabriel, that's TTRR, and Duleks challenge.

If it wasn't clear before, I am talking about the challenges that Sensei hosts.

Even at that being said within the TTRR challenge, it was mentioned yes, but nobody actually challenged it, 1 person mentioned it, Kaleu quoted it, then you quoted him quoting it.

It didn't escalate beyond that though.

It definitely SHOULD be a thing though.

And yeah, I look like an asshole to some people here, but I look good enough to people I actually care about :)

You will have haters no matter what you do, at least what I do is usually right lol, I can live with that  8)

The best chance you have of winning a challenge is to wait until the last moment and submit a replay, even if you actually got the time a week earlier.
I am not going to explain why because it is pretty obvious.

"Back in the day" this would be more of a problem and would lead to less back and forth battles and would contribute to inactivity.

It would also be more of a pain on a map like this, rather than a 30s map.
Title: Re: Challenge #747, TT Big RR #27
Post by: TheKomodo on June 27, 2018, 07:15 AM
Definitely man, well said!

Problem is, when the best Big RR player wasn't aware of this, and I'm the biggest forum addict and I never noticed, doesn't that tell you something?

Actually what lalo said, if I had been involved with that thread Gabriel posted, perhaps word would have got out and it would be common knowledge... Funny lol  :D

I will try to encourage people with this from now on and fully support it, even call to add it in the description in a positive way so people can learn this act of sportsmanship faster :)

Submitting a week old replay right at the deadline would be lame. That's why in league games you have to report within 6 hours or the game may get void.

Masta submitted his replay right after the game. Nothing lame in making a last minute attempt.
Title: Re: Challenge #747, TT Big RR #27
Post by: Sensei on June 27, 2018, 03:26 PM
I never accused anyone for sniping. Accusing Masta would make no sense anyway, cause he would probably have best time in the end nevertheless. Just wished him and shtaket didn't post replays 1hr before end. Cause chally lasted ~400 hrs.

Since that, this thread has blown for no reason. At least we got komo doing his idiotic monologues which we all adore from time to time.

Sensei, honestly...

Why can't you be civil? If you hate me, just send me f**king pm's telling me to go die etc or some other lame excuse for a playground insult, I can handle that, stop ruining threads with your personal vendetta!

And if you are gonna slag me off, at least make it funny like lalo did ffs...

I am clearly not the only person here who noticed what this thread has became about, yet you focus on me, you are like a f**king rat experiment that can't stop shocking itself...

Even AFTER i've supported YOUR side, you STILL continue to act like a little child lol...

I bet if I asked you what this thread is even about, you wouldn't have a clue LOL!

I can't deny though, you are an excellent MOD(except this one lol), and your challenges are awesome, don't be a d**k mate lol.
