To be honest, TTRR with LDET is pointless for top players on such small maps. If you fall you're probably going to lose anyway even if you keep your turn.

It does enable other players to at least finish a turn though.

For the case of BigRRs instead, that is not so pointless, as it might definitely kill consistency-based advantage which I actually consider as deserved.

This is a quote directly from the racing schemes in this cup:

Quote
The philosophy to this scheme is that speed, consistency and technique is key to victory, as opposed to getting a huge advantage because your opponent fell and is punished severely.

Even with these settings you can still fail miserably and lose a lot of time, which means those who can recover quickly and keep roping while maintaining full speed will have a higher chance of winning.

This means it's a more balanced match for those with the fastest reflexes and hand to eye coordination, as opposed to those who can easily take advantage of an opponents mistake by roping more carefully.

I don't know, but will not allow brand new accounts to join this event.

Unfortunately there is not an option for "time registered" on the Cup page.

This Cup is open to players of all skill, but not accounts that are brand new and/or haven't been checked for legitimacy.

I need to inform MonkeyIsland of this.

Edit - I may have to switch these events to being a Private Cup if brand new accounts, which have not been verified or tested for legitimacy are allowed to enter Cups.

In my opinion it should be a requirement to even participate in any Cup/Tournament/Challenge that the player has actively engaged in a normal League match of some kind, so they can be verified not to be cheating & not to be an alias.

I don't have a problem with any beginner, or new player, entering the event, though we've had enough aliasing and piss taking, especially with Sir-J around lol.

I just want some kind of proof, or reason to believe they are genuine, and not wasting spots for legit players.

You know something! Spill it!

But on a serious note. There is no need to make cup private. Just edit the rules of the cup. If there is a new guy that joined, have a requirement of legit people to vouch for him.

Sbaffo, that's exactly WHY it's more important!

This is a Cup with a cash prize, with live streaming, not the League where statistics are biased with inaccuracies and all over the place lol.

It's up to MonkeyIsland, he's said before if it's a public Cup you can't prevent people from joining other than the requirements.

What I am asking for, is an extra requirement of validity/legitimacy.

Oh yeah let’s further limit our limited pool of players in the name of validity/legitimacy (on this site? on a dead ass old game? :D )

TUS is not just the Allround League.

There are Tournaments, Cups, Challenges, Maps, Schemes, Files, Forums and more.

In my opinion, Cups are better than Leagues in terms of no noob bashing, no avoiding, no scheme scumming...

In a Cup, you get your group stage, you play everyone in your group, then you work your way through the Playoffs.

It's a much more balanced and competitive environment than the current League System.

Even the allround playoffs are ridiculous, you've got 13 schemes and you only play 5, giving the most active top players a massive advantage because they get first pick.

Each section of this website has it's own set of rules parallel to the general rules.

When a moderator hosts a Cup THEY and THEY ALONE get to decide the rules, who gets to play etc. based on the available parameters.

Right now, there isn't a way to check a newcomers legitimacy, I've asked MonkeyIsland if he can do something about this, and he is going to work something out.

When a moderator hosts a Cup, they can setup requirements for entry, including their percentage of Cup games completed in the past(as a way to prevent people who join and don't play their games) and also a maximum number of players.

Now, you're not allowed to remove people just because they are noobs, but a moderator can definitely remove suspicious accounts from participating.

These Cups that I am hosting, they have strict rules meant for serious dedicated players, of course noobs can join as well! Though new accounts should be verified in some way to prove they are not an alias/cheating/bot account, ESPECIALLY if they are entering a Cup with legitimate prizes.

I am looking for quality, rather than quantity, I'd rather have 8 of the top players in the world, than 32 people nobody knows, nobody trusts, and nobody even knows if they will show up or not.

Bottom line is, this Cup has rules, if you do not accept them, do not join.

Every genuine person is free to join, their skill level is irrelevant.

Great players so far! Still 5 days left of the signups! Aiming for 12-16!

Can't wait to see how you all play these variations!

Damn, this lineup keeps getting better!

Can we get 3 more to make 16???

Only 2 days left for signups!

If we don't get 16 players, we have to go with 12, which means last in - first out!

Let's get 3 more, cmon!

Cup started!

I'm starting the Cup slightly before midnight as I'm going to bed soon! We have 12 players and signups ended today anyway.

The map packs you can use for the Group Stage will be uploaded tomorrow afternoon.

Remember not to use maps outside of the map pack or the games will be voided, this is to make sure there are no maps which are too easy or too complex so people are playing on a balanced playing field.

MAKE SURE TO READ THE DESCRIPTION IN IT'S ENTIRETY - YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT BREAKING RULES!

Good luck!

MonkeyIsland and I are sorting out the map pack now! It won't be long!

WxW only has 22 maps for now... There are some challenging ones for sure and a few sort of medium ones, none of they are SUPER easy, but probably easy for top players.

I will update the WxW map pack as I find more maps that are not too hard, not too easy. Ideally I'd like between 30 and 50 maps for WxW. That should get you started though.

TTRR has 144 maps, none of which are EXTREMELY tight, or EXTREMELY wide like bonherts maps. There are a mixture of barman, fluffy, alenic maps.

Tower Race has 25 maps, from the best Tower Race map makers, generally speaking there aren't that many great TR maps anyway, it's a pretty niche scheme. This is enough for Tower Race.

Wascar has 30 maps, variating authors and types, there should be no plop holes in any of them, so if I've made a mistake let me know. This is enough for Wascar.

IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR GOOD WxW MAPS PLEASE SHARE THEM SO I CAN ADD THEM!

Thanks to Triad & Senator, we are now up to 44 maps for WxW, which is enough for now, thanks guys!

Just waiting on MonkeyIsland adding those maps to the map pack manually instead of it taking me hours to find them all individually on the WxW maps section.

Though, if you can't wait, you can download them from this reply, in the attachment!

I've had to update the WASCAR and WxW schemes.

I forgot to add phased worms in the WASCAR K version uploaded.
I forgot to add LDET in the WxW K scheme uploaded.

The schemes are now finalized.

Good luck!

8 hours left!

Unfortunately we didn't get all the games done but we did get enough done that we can advance the proper players to the Playoffs!

In the case of wormack and Sbaffo, it's a tough one to decide...  Neither player attempted to organize their match via the thread.

Since Sbaffo has been on vacation for a while now if they haven't played by the deadline(8 hours from the time of the post roughly) then I'll advance wormack #1 and Sbaffo #2 on account on Sbaffo not being available to play.
