In just a moment I will create a tournament for the day after the deadline. This tournament is meant to determine people to go to KO stages in case in any of the groups going to be an unclear situation e.g. nobody payed a single game in a certain group. As we know it is often the case. Anybody will be able to participate in the tournament, who does not qualify for the KO stages, even if he didn't play in this cup. If it isn't necessary then it will be cancelled.
If anybody has second thoughts about his participation now is the time to jump off so Joschi can take his place.

The first week has concluded and the activity so far is quite pleasant, but not completely satisfying. Sadly there are still people with 0 games played, which is fine, since there's still alot of time left, but at the same time most of those guys didn't make a public attemt to arrange their games as the main topic strongly suggests either. (e.g. stating when they are available to play, like Joschi and Dulek did.)
I ask those guys to leave a statement here concerning their availability and/or make an effort to arrange a game right in this topic.
The ones that won't have neither at least one game played nor leave any statement helpful for the arrangements of games until Friday 00:00GMT (it's actually Thursday night) will be replaced by players on the waiting list.
People concerned are: Fantomas, Mark, K4Tsis, Mablak, Ivo, Krezo. They will receive a personal message pointing at this post.
Please provide me the knowledge of who genuinely tries to get it done.

I PM'd the people in my group a few days ago, only Mark has responded, though we haven't found a day that works yet. Fanto and Katsis, please tell me when you can play so we can arrange it and not just happen to bump into each other, almost any day works at 19 or 20 GMT.

So we met the activity deadline and only two players responded. Alas we lack one player on the waiting list, so Mark stays until a wild volunteer, who hasn't been in the tournament yet, appears.
Those who had been removed for poor activity find themselves on the blacklist, which is non other than the inability to take part in my next cup. I guess it's not a big loss for them, since they don't seem to be very fond of elite. The more competitors remain gameless at the end the bigger the list grows.

Just a quick reminder of the third rule: activity > wins. It's especially vital for groups 1, 4 and 5. In group 4 pizza and zolu are playing right now so nevermind it. In group 5 DT assured me to play on the weekend. But I don't know what's the story with group 1. Unless barman and throsti play their game gadzet is to advance. ;s Of course if barman can convince me that throsti is consistently avoiding him he might get a walkover win which will boost he's activity to 3.
EDIT: We have a similiar situation in group 7 with Stefan probably not giving a shit anymore. If that's the case I will consider awarding free wins against him.

In the case of group 5, in my case, I think this rule should be reformed.
1) zoky and me have both 2 wins, I won my game vs zoky 2 - 0
2) In last week I did my best to match a playtime with DT, lot of snooping, 2 PMs and forum posts. But this weekend I'm busy.
3) Give me a technical lose and I still have a better statistic then zoky.
On my side, it wasn't a question of activity or lack of communication the reason that we didn't arrange our game.

Obviously last time it was my first cup ever and I didn't come up with the activity rule idea back then, but even if it was there, the rule is stated in the top post now, it would not have helped you one bit, because cinek had a bigger activity than you and Joschi had same activity, but better ratio. :P
Now back to the present, where Joschi gives Electro the freebie. Since it won't change the ranks within the group, you can say it was a rather good idea by him.
Maybe if barman checks this forums, he comes up with a similiar idea, unless, of course, he plays Throsti.

It boggles my mind how you two failed to arrange a game, while being both very present on tus and wormnet. There won't be any today for this anymore.
The situation is following now:
Kayz and Koras were awarded free wins over Stefan22 for his inactivity and lack of respect towards the tournament. Thus:
1. Kayz with 2-1
2. Koras with 2-0
3. Worm_gamer with 1-1
4. Stefan22 with being blacklisted.
Deadline for the round of 16 is now set for Sunday 23:59 GMT. Arrange your games in advance and please try doing that in this forum, so I can see who genuinely tries to get it done. If your opponent does not react to messages posted here, that is his concern only. There won't be any delays for anyone.

I won all my games... i had just couple days for this cause I joined later to this cup.
I don't know if you knew it, but I have this weird habbit, that I mean the words I say. By the time the time limit for group games expired you still had only two games played and if you read the cup description you'd know that all games played beyond deadline are bound to void. The only reason I didn't delete your game against worm_gamer is just to make him feel better, because he was so eager to play all games, but that doesn't mean this game is taken into account.
The couple of days you are talking about were actually nine whole days. I don't know why you mentioned it, seeing there were two people in this cup playing all three games in only one day. You knew you were late for the cup and you have to deal with the disadvantages accompanied by.
Long story short: you're 2nd, Kayz 1st.

Well, it was a good reminder why i was against the merging of our league with tus, and also why i don't usually play this kind of cups :P
First Gadzet don't wanna play, secondly we agree on AG for the next day ... he doesn't show up. Now i wait for him in AG, he plays KBA3u after my messages. When he finished playing he hosts, doesn't seem to thrilled when i said it's a bo5 game ... AND ... crashes in the middle of the round. (after a good HHG attack, though i don't wanna insinuate anything)
Fantomas was there and offered to host for us ... but he Gadzet vanishes. Total lack of respect for a player's time.

Everyone can see that you try to make an arrangement, so why bother if he's not coming, by the time the week passes you will advance into the next stage, simly because he is avoiding you. Yes, it sucks that people don't keep their word. Nevertheless you should be patient.

Second, seeing other cups taking like a half year to finish or just dying in the middle of it (see last inter cup on tus), I saw no other possibility but creating a very strict set of rules for everyone, since I'm not willing to nurse people or wait half a year. It worked extremely well last summer and it seems to work pretty well now, too. So I don't see any reason to change them even slightly. If I have to pick between fixing what already works by breaking my words and rules or let one bitchy primadonna go, I choose the lesser evil.

Once you sober up you may decide to continue playing, so I'm not kicking you out just yet. If not, I will not have a guilty conscience removing you.

But before that, please, have some training in discussing a matter, building an argument and backing up a statement. Otherwise I don't see a chance for you.

I think Jakka's decision is fine, because it teaches us to get our games played or suffer the consequences; this kind of strictness helps for future cups. I'll play lacoste as soon as I can, probably much easier since I see him on mIRC.

Jakka is right. Activity > winning ratio. Otherwise some people like Koras wouldn't bother themselves to play all games in time. No doubts, Worm_gamer was an easy win for Koras, but it's just disrespectful to the cup & it's players to say "2 obvious super easy wins".

Well, so... Due to my provider sucking balls, I didn't have a stable internet connection on the PC where I can play worms for the whole week. At the moment of writing, I don't even have any internet at all, so I'm posting this from Mac via neighbours' wi-fi spot. If nothing changes, I guess I'll have to use a netbook to play, since tomorrow is the last day... I didn't quite understand if Koras wants to continue or not, but anyway, tomorrow I'm available to play for the whole day.

At last it's over, I won 4-3 against Dario, and there was one tie. Pretty damn tense games, we both turned it around on each other a couple times, Dario game back from pretty bad positions in round 3 or 4 I think it was.
