Title: 90's games on modern PC's?
Post by: Sensei on March 18, 2019, 03:17 PM
Cmon guys, there's gotta be a way to run all those hits with Win10?
Some emulator? Anything..

I'd like to play/stream Captain Claw, Ignition, Twisted Metal 2, Worms 1/2...

I bet few of you nostalgic f@#!s found a way to do this, so share it with old Sensei. Thx.

One solution would be to install Virtualbox.
https://www.virtualbox.org

Virtualbox is a virtualization software, that allows you to install an Operating System in the program. Virtualbox supports many OS, Windows 3.1, 95, 98, 2000, XP and many many more, including Linux and & Mac.

You need an ISO or CD and simply load it in the virtual machine and install. Then proceed to install your desired game of choice inthe virtual environment.

SCUMMVM can launch many of old dinos' sheet on modern machines. I personally played The Legend of Kyrandia 1-3 with it.

Managed to get Captain Claw working flawlessly on Win10. Found discord of their community and they helped in matter of minutes. They kept this '97 game alive and updated. Added custom maps, multiplayer mode, some sick speedruns on twitch/yt.. one guy even made a fkn phone version of the game!

Ppl around gotta appreciate the content on Worms as well, we shouldn't stop!

DOSBox & VMWare software can work well for games that have strange issues or are incompatible under modern Windows.
