I spent lot of time on Diablo1/Hellfire, easy game, but incredible, I didn't like D2 too much, and I'm gonna check the third... ;>

for me diablo is shit. On single baldurs gate 1 and 2 is nice. Old game but really interesting.
Multi is lineage 2 is very good and of course WOW.

Imo D1 is the best hack'n'slash game ever. PSX version was really good too. Controls was good and It was cool to play with gamepad . D2 ... hmmm I spend really many hours playing it. D2 Is cool-other game but as a Sequel it dont have the d1 climate . Ill wait for d3. I might they dont destroy the amazing soundtrack (tristram<3) and other things like in d2.

I will play d3 hc only, with my friend. He will play monk focusing on tanking/surviving while I do a pure dmg focus mage (edit: excuse me *cough WoW* wizard). No PvP Arena at start though, sucks that they had to remove it from retail.

You can't play without a Blizzard validated Beta account since many of the essential code is server-side.
edit: if any wormer wants beta access I can lend him my account for d3. Obviously if you're brazilian and your nick isn't nino forget about asking. Only friendz.

Getting sooner or later depends on where you're from, your connection and your computer specs. It might influence the time of your application, but I don't think that holds too much weight.
Mostly Americans and English people are in the beta, not many Europeans AFAIK since the servers are american anyway. I guess they rather have english speaking people submit bugs than portugese.
Basically, if you have a computer that sucks so much that can BARELY run it (although it can run it decently), you'll have a higher chance of getting in. Or a very rare brand like Alienware, that helps too.

D3 launches in 7hours in Germany, in 10 minutes we will be able to install.
Fun fact: The german Amazon has no D3 copies left in stock, first time that ever happened. :D

Almost done with act1 nightmare, have only played two days though :(
my sorc is pimping out though, the AH makes things very easy, I'm doing like 2k dps.

Still rocking with my hardcore barbar, 6k life with lvl 36 and unbeatable in mob grps. Not so much dmg though. xD

From the streams I've watched Barb tanks in Inferno are being one hit my some bosses.
Same life as my sorc :P
I guess the AH in hardcore is a bit lackluster right now...

Dunno, with the support of a full grp barb tanks are crowd control machines, being the only class afaik that has a real taunt for 3 seconds every 15 seconds. Since monk gives insane life reg and barb can skill even more life reg it is very strong, not to mention on lvl 60 I can specc 50% resistance + 20% from monk party. Giving me flat 70% without gear.
But currently our hardcore grp is on halt since one of my mates died. xD Playing softcore mage atm while the other catches up.
Btw: We are not using the AH since self found is the way to go in our opinion.

Just to inform the other, D3 is great fun in Co-Op. I already died in laughter when ropa died instantly after a battle rezz in a boss fight while I could teleport away just in time. best moment so far. xD

you waited until you had boss aggro then came to rez me and inmediatly teleported away so the missile that was directed to you hit me instead and killed me.

Well, I have played d3 now for a couple of weeks and currently I am pretty disappointed with the game. Since there is no PvP atm you are left with PvE and it's repetitiveness that comes with it. It's definitely a game that is fun to play, the combat is smooth and engaging but class balance (melee have to be tanky but can't really tank anyway lol vs. range glass canon that just zerg the champions down with pure dps; 300k DPS DH inc.) and item system are broken to the bone, they promised to fix the balance and some item problems but even then you will only farm items. In d2 you were also leveling all the time even though it didn't make a huge difference it was always another motivation to keep farming bosses/mobs. One side of the crafting is broken atm with smithy being useless in most cases. Servers are stable now for the most part. No addiontional good drops like in D2 LoD with runes, it's just all about the perfect yellow while in D2 you could get pretty decent gear with uniques and in some cases even BiS runewords.
I feel like D3 will be perfect in 1 year, probably after the first expansion which they already confirmed. I would save my money untill that or wait at least for the fluff PvP Patch 1.1
Currently only doing some AH selling and HC with a friend of mine with almost no motivation. xD Back to WoW it is again. :p

if you wanna best quests from kings, you can ask nino
if you wanna join orks quild, join eS
if you wanna something non linear, dont join nlF
and even if you wanna rob caravans, you can do that here on WA by playing shopper

For the moment, D3 totally sucks.
They changed everything from the gameplay of D2.
We had one of the best Hack & Slash ever to get a shitty product now.

The base rules. The combat system is the funnest I've found in an action RPG.
With an overhaul of the itemization, an addition of more skills and customization this game will be incredibly fun. Right now, I've hit a progress and boredom wall much so like Anubis. But that's because I rushed through content and reached the max difficulty with the 1,7% that did so first. That shouldn't be a problem since I could be farming, but I'm not because, like it's been stated, the itemization is not as depth as it was in D2 and therefore it's not fun nor worth to farm. I'm waiting for a patch while I level up alts (still fun).

Yeah, the base (that's killing monsters, that's all you do in an aRPG) is the best combat you will find in any hack 'n slash to date. I saw some Torchlight 2 footage that could be as fun as D3 ones, but it's even more cartoony and probably a bit over the edge for my taste.
Path of Exile is very classical combat, gets pretty boring after a while and doesn't feel alive at all. (No rag-doll mechanic sucks nowadays)

Nah really, Diablo III is a total fail.
You configure your stats with gear now, in d2 the stats weren't as important, especially INT was a lackluster for all classes since you could spam pots/leech it.
Good stats are life on hit, improved attack speed (both of them together owns), for pure dps you raise crit chance and crit dmg and ias. I saw DH with 100% crit chance and 300+% crit dmg, pretty nice.
life leech is fail atm in inf, but blizz said it will be OP when you have OP dmg. :p
Some classes kill inf mobs faster than other, barb is pretty low atm if you wanna survive reasonable cuz you need shield and lots of survival skills/stats. But like I said earlier, DH goes easy over 300k dmg and then pwns champs really fast.
Why do you join a co-op game if you wanna split ways? lol
Not defeding D3 cuz I also think d2 is better atm, but your points are very thin and easily explained.
Btw, latest hotfix made hardcore a lot more fun since 4player grp dmg is same as 1 player grp dmg, so just more monster HP and you can go all in as melee class. Just did act2 with a rnd grp with my barb girl and it was pretty fun. :)

Split way were perfect to do MF Runs (they baalrun ? You MF meanwhile: 8 players -> better drops).
Split way allowed rush (even if you still can do it, by hosting 1 game for each acts).
Once you had finished an act, you could go anywhere you wanted, that's just normal and much better.
About the stats, I'm sorry but a RPG must retains on stat building, so people can make their own build and the best (build,skill) combination wins.
Removing stats has just been made so retarded people can play the game (yeah, like they do on every games, it's more and more easy so they can sell to more people).
I'm playing a Mage atm (as always) and yeah I hurt but:
- I run out of mana so fast and I can't put my stats in it.
- I'm getting killed in 1 single hit against Diablo low hp, no way to avoid that fact (no more mana shield, since no mana).
And can't put stats in vitality.
- No more "infinite" teleport, now there's a huge cd (f@#! you WoW): what's the point from a Hack & Slash ?
And I won't talk about synergies. They left it.
No more skill building either, you just click on what you earnt (so cooooll !).
Every champions have the same stats need: dmg and ias.
Where is the fcr, fhr, etc.. ?
Why reducing the number of champions by making 1 to 2 ?
Druid and Mage are now sorcerer.
Assa & Amazon are DH.
Etc..
Now, I can't choose the game I want to join: totally sucks.
I'm falling so often in newbie games..
And no more World Trade Centers.
If I'm doing another quest, I can't get back to the one I was doing except by starting to zero.
Max players per game is 4: Wow ! Now they reduce the number of players allowed in one game, first time I see this.
The only good points from D3 are (don't expect so much, they are few compared to bad points):
- No more dupe runes/items.
- You can earn money from the game (without using a tierce website).
I can't believe you like D3, especially after having played D2.
Those games are totally different, and D3 shouldn't be called a Diablo.

Yeah, when you start to see them as two different franchises it's easier to accept D3 as a good hack n slash.
you just need to survive 1-2 hits as a mage, then you get a life on kill of around 5k and just heal urself with hydra killing.
