In case anyone is going to play a Witch: She's frustrating to play in the beginning because she doesn't really deal a whole lot of damage, then gets gradually better as you proceed to about level 30, then drives you nuts again because most enemies hit her for a crapload of damage. Playing in a party with someone who can tank is very recommended. :D Game is great btw, it's different from other games of its kind, very unique character development and equipment options.

haha, yeah darkz, I was wondering about that. even grouping with one friend of mine with my witch, I felt like all I was doing was 'pet' damage, like my damage didn't even matter so much that I may as well be his pet ;p

All Spell Characters are weak at the beginning, it's because the characters specializing in utilizing the weapon physical and/or elemental damage can boost their dps on the fly without spending too much points into Damage passives. Later on it evens out a lot since the gems of spells get a lot more DPS from leveling up than for example skills based on weapon damage/passives.

i just realized i picked the more difficult character (shadow)

but i like it a lot (in wow i had a rogue).

how does the health potions work? they refill automatically when u level up or..?

if someone of you guys have a level 4-6 ish (to 10 soon) character let me know, maybe we can party :p

I dont know where all those very positive comments come from. Is it because its free? Passive skill tree / active skill (not too many skills here tho, could be more) / crafting system very inventive indeed, i miss such customizability in other games. Else? Three acts, pretty much like Diablo 2 in size, not too many original monsters (a lot of copy/pasted models with changed effects), three unique bosses, SO MANY other things literally taken from D2 like monster abilities, quests, design of the maps among other things, but still Diablo has a lot more to offer.

Go play Torchlight II, this is proper H&S that actually feels somehow new.

The Game is still Beta, they said they want to double the available Gems (support/active etc.). The systems are all an improvement to Diablo 2, better economy due to no Gold. Better crafting (you can create EVERYTHING), more open Character customization, a lot harder than Diablo in the last difficulty, endgame like Torchlight 2 with maps, Devs that actively listen to the community, no seperate loot so you get rewarded if you drive the group forward since you can get their drops after a certain time, no afk leechers because of that.

Just a few things I could think of for the moment.

Then we will talk in a year or two. For now PoE is weak if it comes to gameplay in comparision to Torchlight 2. Screw the economy and customisation when theres not much to do. T2 on elite level is challenging from the start and its huge, this is an almost perfect H&S to me, surely game of the year if not recent years.

I read somewhere that PoE is going to have 8 or 9 Acts when it's finished. So it's still far from its final form. :)

I also love artwork and sfx/gfx in T2, when there is proper harvester i just feel it on my skin, every detail.

I actually only played DiabloII for the first time last year from friends who revisited it for nostalgia, and it was one of them that introduced Path of Exile to the rest of us this last week, only he also recommends Torchlight2 like you're bringing up lacoste, so I'm sure it's also up there in quality gaming. I do personally like the free-ness of PoE, as these style of games are still new to me (perhaps I'll try T2 someday if I want to splurge).

I've participated in the closed beta in PoE around a year age. (even shop wasn't working back then) With the current developing speed it's gonna be out in like late 2015...
We picked it up again with coste few days ago, and it took us like what... 10 hours and 40 levels to reach (still hardly) challenging part? Besides that, most annoying part of the game was the map reseeding every time we left the area, forcing us to run through the map not even bothering with attackiing mobs just to find an exit... So if you enjoy grinding for hours in a very monotonous gameplay that barely rewards you  (gems) then yeah, go play PoE.

I'm on my second Torchlight2 playthrough right now and it's challenging from the very start, playing different character actually feels different. First boss fight took us like 20 minutes.

This game is a drug. The logic behind this game is to insert game hours in hopes of getting the jack pot. Coins are the hours, orbs are the gold. Only addicted players level up beyond 80+. But it's a slot machine with a terrible netcode, you get hit by what you can't see and miss hits at mobs that you can see. You really have to be a no life to play at hardcore league.
